Would like to ask a question... Is soy bean based products kinda bad on people with PCOS due to how it can cause high estrogen levels in the body?? This question came up from my dear friend when I told her, I am trying to eat healthy by substituting meat with tokwa or tofu...

Except she cooked no veggies and uses soy and dairy in her recipes. Both will flood the body with more estrogen and PCOS is a direct result of already having too much estrogen. But yeah…great “advice” from this “nutritionalist” 😂

@@thefarmgirl30 I was thinking the same! Embracing a diet free from tofu, soy, and starchy foods is crucial for managing PCOS, as these can exacerbate the condition. It's imperative to steer clear of processed foods and instead, whole foods should be the staple in managing this condition effectively. I, too, have battled with PCOS, and found solace in adhering to a regimen of Intermittent Fasting (IF), a ketogenic diet, and a diet devoid of starchy foods, gluten, and dairy. Within a mere six months, not only did I reverse my symptoms, but I also shed 22 kilograms in the process! The journey didn’t end there; I was overjoyed to discover that I was able to conceive just nine months later. Interestingly, it wasn't pills that aided me in overcoming PCOS, but this dedicated dietary shift coupled with regular exercise, particularly fasted training, that championed my cause.

As someone recently diagnosed with PCOS, this video made me cry!! Thank you for your warmth, gentleness, humour, and of course very helpful information!! It was scary getting diagnosed cause a lot of info I read was about not being allowed to eat your favourite foods, and was afraid I was going to return to my history of over-restricting my food. I also don't have a big budget, and I really appreciate that you acknowledged that you don't need one to eat well!! I'm definitely going to rewatch this video, both for the recipes themselves and the approach to food! 💜 Please make a part 2! ☺

Actually this video helped me a lot to feel better. All the pcos recipes are full of difficult, expensive and unavailable items. It's hard to substitute rice with anything else. I already have oats. I used to have roti made with wheat but gluten is bad. The options are very limited. I think I'll try to stop intermittent fasting, start having small meals frequently with low glycemic carbs, have rice with proteins and fix my sleep and exercise schedule. Just want to share a meal I made yesterday. I cooked fried rice with canned tuna, eggs, beans, carrots, onions. I think it was delicious and satisfying.

I taught patients about their medical conditions and how diet can be used as a therapy and a prevention method for diseases. Looking forward for more episodes with RNDs involved. kudos to FEATR!

why do you still have diabetes? you can get free of diabetes in a year or less by cutting sugar and carbs down to 5% of your daily diet combined with fasting daily at a minimum of 16 hours. that means having eating window of 4-8 hours. it also means eating more of high protein and healthy fats. getting carbs from leafy non-starchy veggies, avocado and some nuts

eating more often is the formula to never get to switch to body fat as a source of energy. When you fast, you allow your body to tap on your stored fat, activate them as your fuel/energy to use for your daily activities. Its hard at first, but its normal . your body will need a few days to get used to it, especially if you already have insulin resistance. But this is the best way to become insulin sensitive and hopefully reverse all symptoms of metabolic syndrome like PCOS
@CrayonsBattle
@CrayonsBattle Жыл бұрын
She explains things very well but the recipes are what my cheat meals look like on my insulin resistance diet. If you want to reverse your insulin resistance (and loose weight) I would recommend being more strict around carbs and sugars. After you let go of ALL sugars (that includes fruit) for even just a week, almonds become like candy, an apple tastes so sweet It makes you nauseous. After the initial sensitisation you can go back to enjoying low GI fruit (e.g berries, apples) on a moderate basis (1-3 x week). Don't worry about calories but manage your portions. And definitely don't worry about good fats. Black rice and Jerusalem artichoke are tastier low GI alternatives to white rice and potatoes (with Jerusalem artichoke's added benefit of improving insulin sensitivity). If you hate exercise make sure you're walking at least 30k steps a week. pro tip - If you want to enjoy a higher GI meal dilute 1 tbsp of good quality apple cider vinegar in water and drink before a meal. This will reduce the spike in your blood sugar. If you want to eat a smaller portion but you're worried It won't satisfy your hunger, drink a glass of water with some chia seeds beforehand. You're also adding more fiber to your meal this way. Good luck

I have 3 nieces who have PCOS so the information your provided in this video is helpful. Your over concept and goal is which is translate certain health concerns with the corresponding nutritional diets is certainly helpful to many. However, may I suggest that you organize your information to provide more clarity eg. Transition to PCOS symptoms to health concerns. It was not clear what topic you were tackling. Another suggestion is to lessen the side comments to focus on the more important points of your content. Thank you for contextualizing your content by providing what Filipinos should eat. I think this is excellent as it also reflects the Asian diet which is healthier than western diet. Good luck to you and I hope to see more helpful content.

Hello would you mind covering food options for those with Gout and Diabetes? I'm 47 yr old pinoy in Canada. I've had to get away from beef, pork, many seafoods and shellf fish. Along with most breads with yeast. I've swtiched to roti that has no yeast along with the rare find of tortilla without yeast to make wraps, burrito or cruncn wraps. For rice, been using brown basmati, with white jasmine as a treat now and then. Many pinoy dishes actually trigger my gout flare ups. I was triggered back in 2nd week of July and I was bed ridden for a week due to chicken tinola. My sister in laow used chicken cubes which had yeast extract which is where I learned that I am no being triggered by yeast for gout flares.
