This guy's origin story is actually very interesting. He started out on the complete opposite side of fighting obesity as the owner of a gym franchise but he was sued by a major fastfood chain because his gym's name sounded similar to their restaurants. He lost the lawsuit and his businesses, his whole world was destroyed. He felt like he couldn't beat the fast food industry and all his efforts to promote health and wellness lost out because he didn't have as much money and couldn't afford better lawyers. From this sense of loss and failure, a villain was born. He decided basically if you can't beat 'em, join ‘em and that's when he opened the heart attack grill.

Not gonna lie I unironically respect the guy more than most business owners out there because of how honest he is. He openly admitted that his food can kill people and he warns them about the risks and doesn't force them to eat at his restaurant. You'd think with those circumstances his business is doomed to fail but people still choose to eat there everyday. He's like the antagonist of the story but he never killed a single character. The characters themselves chose the risk of death proving an accurate point about Americans diet and the fast food industry.

Jon is fucking nuts, but he’s definitely sending a message. When you walk by this place and see a bunch of obese people devouring disgusting food makes you go “my god, that’s disgusting” and not want to eat like that. And I *think* in his mind the obese people in the restaurant are already too far gone, the message goes to the people who can still turn around and leave.
@byHexted3 жыл бұрын
So that’s why he reaches out to more? He uses the money from dead people to advertise to more obese people, telling them if they get a bit fatter they can eat for free at his restaurant. He’s literally taking peoples addictions or weaknesses and using it to make them as helpless as possible until they DIE. Then he makes his money, gives NONE of it to any sort of anti obesity organization, he puts it into making the food more deadly and getting more peoples families heartbroken. This is so obviously him justifying his downright evil actions by saying it’s for the greater good. It’s not. Since his restaurant has existed people have only died or gotten more obese. Nobody is walking through the door to HEART ATTACK GRILL and then changing their mind once they see fat people are in there. If you have the self control to not be obese you aren’t going to be obese. You don’t need a restaurant dedicated to horrible food to convince you that.

This guy is fascinating. On one hand, his goals can be seen as admirable. He wants to make a statement about the fast food industry, and he does it without shame. On the other hand, what he's doing is wrong. He's essentially indirectly causing the deaths of people to both promote the restaurant and to make a point about health in America. He practically sells people actual lard, claiming they have the choice to stop, knowing full well that they won't, and even wants his customers to die for the purpose of making money. It's cynical. He's not presenting his customers with a chance to become healthier, he's only giving them so much of what they want that they either look in the mirror and realize what they've become or die. This man is final boss of Fast Food. He needs to be defeated.
@tomow75663 жыл бұрын
The reason many people perceive this guy as a villain is because that is exactly what he is trying to be perceived as. He is trying to become the personification of the kinds of people who run major fast food companies, but instead of lying about his food, he's being totally honest. People choose to come to his restaurant and overeat and they choose to die. He's trying to show that bad food kills. In a way, his restaurant is like an overexaggerated and almost cartoonish in nature representation of the generic fast food restaurants we may find today. I can almost imagine a cartoon or TV show with a fast food joint called "The Heart Attack Grill" which pokes fun at fast food joints, with a guy like this guy as the owner. Basically, this guy is trying to be the bad guy.
@Blackpheonix993 жыл бұрын
Well you can try to justify him "playing" bad guy all you want. But he's quite literally breaking his hypocratic oath as a doctor... he's doing all this and making buttloads of cash... Using bad press for cash... Guarantee he hired most of those servers from a sex dungeon... Using his dead friends to make more cash... Desecrating his dead friends body by slapping his ashes on a table during a television interview... You ever think he might ACTUALLY be a villain? Even as a culinary professional I find him doing a lot of this is sick and wrong... Not to mention those ashes being tossed around in the restaurant near food are a HUUUUGE health and safety violation risk...

But he's still professing to be a doc... And still breaking his hypocratic oath... None of what you said changes anything I've said... @@Blackpheonix99 I never said he wasn't a bad guy, but I think people blaming him for their own failings pushed him over the edge, Hippocratic oath or no.
