They were forcing him to push himself beyond the limits of a singer of any age, never mind 65 years old. If they mixed his vocals low because they weren't happy with the quality, then they should have been honest about it and not gone on tour. But to make him push himself that hard just to be heard is just bad sound engineering. Frankly, it has to be deliberate. My ego would be hurt too if I were mixed too low to hear unless I shouted into the mic. None of us can know what went on behind the scenes before this moment, but his complaint about the mix seems perfectly valid. I go to a concert to hear ALL the music, not just a bunch of instruments.

What the audience hears has nothing to do with if the singer can hear themselves in their in-ear monitors. There was a point made that people in the front rows were telling Perry he was too low in the mix. That can't be true at all. When you are front row at a wild show like that you can't explain stuff to a singer who's running around the stage. So that story has to be a lie. Also, if Perry just sang normally than the sound person could simply turn his mic up.

Here's the Blow-by-Blow: The moment Perry first body slams Dave ( 0:46 ), Dave is in shock, you see Base man Eric immediately take off his guitar ( 0:49 ). Man #1 with the cap says "Stop Stop Stop" "No Stop" ( 0:55). Dave can't help himself but to push Perry once the Bouncer shows up ( 0:57 ) Eric is the second person who shows up to constrain Perry ( 0:59 ). Eric puts his left arm around Perry. And Perry puts his Right arm around Eric. Man #1 slips behind Perry and is attempting to constrain Perry ( 1:01 ) According to Perry's girlfriend this is the moment Eric put Perry in a headlock and punched Perry 3 times. What you can see is Eric moves backwards and you can see Eric's Left Elbow bend 2 times ( 1:01 ) (From a different camera angle, you can see Eric hit Perry across his front Torso 2 times). As it escalates, two more guys step in. Then there's a pause, where things seem to calm down for about 3 seconds ( 1:04 ) But then you can see Perry's hand with the mic moving across Eric's back ( 1:10 ). Then PF's mic is behind Eric's head & you hear a THUMP - That's Perry hitting Eric in the back of the neck ( 1:11 ) and that's when you hear Eric say "Stop" "Mother Fucker" "Don't" "Get Off Me" ( 1:12 ) Eric finally walks away from the scuffle ( 1:18 ) then walks over to Dave ( 1:20 ) and pats Dave on side (1:21) - like "Hey Man, I got you" 👊🏻 You can see Perry being pulled off behind the drums by the 3 men - and you can see Perry's head bopping around (2nd to the left) and he's is still screaming towards Eric & Navarro - like he's still not done fighting! 😂 ( 1:22 ). Perry was obviously the instigator and was out of control. Refused to De-escalate. Eric stepped in to put Perry in-check - and maybe rough Perry up a bit for ruining the show.

Perry got sober after his and the bands storied heroin addiction in the 80s and early 90s. When he was sober I saw Janes perform several times and they were great. It's obvious this is a man who is succumbing to active addiction and letting it destroy him. Who knows how long it's been going on. Hopefully he can get sober before it's too late. Long-term alcohol abuse is devastating to a person's body, mind, and soul.

That's how the band initially started. Many of their songs are autobiographical. The band were heroin addicts in the 80s and early 90s, they got sober (different times). I believe the rest of the band is still sober but obviously Perry has fallen off the wagon. I remember him being completely abstinent for years, but then several years back I remember him talking about drinking wine. From personal experience with addiction I knew if he didn't stop it would only progress to what we are seeing unfold now. Alcoholism/addiction is such a horrific disease.

At this point i'd much rather have another Deconstruction album, maybe also with Stephen on drums. I believe they could do some magic without Perry, as Eric is a brilliant songwriter.

Dave Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins should've continued the tour without Perry NOT cancel the entire tour. I would rather see and hear the band do the entire show instrumental style and without Perry than not at all. Have the audience sing along. Would've been epic... and better!!!

The problem with that is some people might have felt ripped off because they wanted to see Perry and they might have demanded refunds. Could have been cool for them to hire a singer that everyone knows, but the safest thing to do from a liability perspective is just to cancel

He was already breaking down and lashing out before attacking Dave and it looks like he attacked Dave being closest to him and not initially making eyecontact seemed to set him off further. Of course I have no clue about anything else that may have been leading up to it, but to me it seems to be a substance propelled rage not being able to perform with a broken voice and not hitting a single note, seeing the underwhelming response in the audience. Doesn't look pretty.
