I think they dynoed the stock 350 in second gear and then dynoed the 383 in third. If you look at the bottom of the dyno sheet you can see the difference in max speed. Dynoing in a higher gear can make it seem like theres more power when in reality it has something to due with the ratio of that gear and load on the engine/dyno. So it just makes the 383 swap look more amazing than it really is.

Don't know why you went with stock front brakes. A PowerStop kit costs less than OEM brakes and gets you far superior brakes, calipers, and pads including slotted and drilled rotors. I put a set on my 99 Suburban and I'll never go back to OEM style brakes. I've also done an HT383E swap on my truck and I can't recommend it enough. Awesome swap. Note. If you have a CSFI model year truck, for the love of God as recommended in the video, replace/upgrade the fuel spider while you're doing the swap! The original sucks and will fail eventually. The upgrade GM fuel spider is vastly superior and more reliable and gets you both power and economy improvements! I added a Hypertech high energy programmer, JB shorty headers, and Magnaflow header back exhaust system with new high flow cats and muffler. I love this combo!
@EGGINFOOLS5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't think the spider injectors would supply enough fuel for a 383 with those mods. It would have been close in cost to do the 350 ramjet mpfi swap than to buy the new spider. I ran out of fuel on my 4.3 spider injection setup with a cam and headers. Once I port and polished the headers and supercharged it I went to the mpfi swap.

@@EGGINFOOLS unfortunately your solution isn't street legal in a ton of jurisdictions. Doesn't work with the factory harness or computer, so what's that cost to sort out? Heck, custom harnesses _start_ at a few hundred bucks. New engine computer? Kiss ABS goodbye and say hello to a third party trans controller. And get some black tape for that MIL light. Meanwhile the HT383E guy is driving his truck. Everything works perfectly as factory. No legal hassles. Life is good. @@ChristopherGaul It actually is legal and it works with the factory harness. You got your panties in a bunch I see. You don't need to have a special harness and can be easily tuned. On the Chev 454 can you tell me the offset on the rear AR Torq Thrust 10 inch rims and the offset on the front 8 inch rims you used please? And can you tell me the tire size for front and rear you also went with please. I have the same truck. Thank you, Chad.

Sorry I see in the description above it explains all rims have a 4.5 inch Back Spacing. So if you could just tell me tire size used would be appreciated...thanks.

So no fuel system or computer "upgrades" needed with the 383 swap?
