What is the different between CFI-ZCT1 and CFI-ZCT1A?! I want to order but not sure is going to fits or not?

In this video at 7:49 where they remove the two screws is the main difference. In the CFI-ZCT1 it has two screws there like shown in this video. On the CFI-ZCT1A there is one screw and the other side is a slide lock. So without modification, this won't work for the A version.

I heated the the parts from the touchpad side, made it easier for me. The controller was an abused one I was given for free. So I was not in any way worried about the plastics... The plastics were already too far gone. To give you an idea, there is a black plastic housing that holds the whole assembly together for the analog triggers, well they were both cracked in a way that the buttons flexed an made a horrible creaking sound when you tried to work the trigger against the motors... A little Q-bond and they are good as new... ugly, but good as new. lol This was actually the hardest and most nerve wracking part for me. Even with a good helping of heat, the pcb was flexing soo much. That which can be seen in this video too.

I want to say the controller was "dropped" a few times in frustration/rage. i havent heard of anyone else having those little chassis break. I havent found any replacements either. But so far my q-bond job has held up extremely well.

@@BallisticTGaming basically you have to send it in and let them do the warranty work, My guess is that the touchpad got overcooked when getting the glue warm enough to remove it from the original controller if you look at full case replacements that step would be the easiest to mess up. That being said I was kind of nervous sending it in, they made me take a video of it not functioning before sending a form out. I just left it with a broken trackpad in the end it’s been a good controller otherwise.

That's just a common double-side tape, just try to find a thinner one.

I think you are talking about the wires of the rumble motors. Just solder them back to the place, it's quite easy

Just got mine today, let's see how it is 👍. I purchased the button set and they were perfect, only issue is that some of the buttons were not ended down and cut properly so I had to do that to make it fit better

@@saulmas1801 Oh, the scarlet red paint is hard to make. You have to paint silver on the base, and then paint the clear red on it after the silver dry. I'm not in charge of Instagram so I can't see you DM lol, but you can share it as a post and hashtag us, I will see that then ;)

Please make sure you have plugged the touchpad ribbon cable into the mainboard. And also check if there is any visible damage on it. Also please let me know what color have you bought?

Go the same problem. The touchpad swipe function doesn't work properly after installing the purple one. It looks like it is detecting 2 touches every time i'm using it.

@@Zombehkillerr so after spending several hours on this I isolated the issue to either the ribbon of the touchpad mother board. Try first swapping the touchpad ribbon with a different controller and see if that works

Yeah, I'm not doing that with the touchpad... I just wanted to switch my white and black controllers buttons and touchpad, but the touch wasn't working on either controller after I assembled them correctly, it still registered the press, just not the touch. Insane that it's married to the main board.

I know you mentioned in a comment that the touchpad tape is just double sided tape, but where can I get it so thin? I crimpled the tape a little when removing and would rather just lay a new one on there. Link to something? Thanks in advance.

If you just crumpled it a bit, then just remove the pope up part to make it smooth, and stick it directly on the touchpad again. After that, using the hairdryer to heat the shell up and press down the touchpad to the shell to make them glued, and after it cool down, they will stick firmly. Just remember do it carefully, don't break anything on the touchpad board.

I didnt at first understand how the touch pad sensor worked, but you are right, it can be any thin double sided tape as long as the pcb stays close and firm to the plastic. Anyway, when I removed it, the tape broke up in a few spots, but I was able to smooth it out and it a works perfectly. Did the astro bot controller demo. All good. thank you.

If you did not use the double side tape, please try to heat up the touchpad shell a bit after you place the touchpad board on it, and then press it hard by using your thumbs, to make the board stick well on the shell

Please make sure the flex cable of the touchpad was not broken. And also make sure the touchpad was stick firm enough with the new shell, you can heat them up with the hairdryer and then push the board hard with your thumb to make it stick better

Yes, a hair dryer will work but just takes more time to get it hot enough. But we don't provide double-sided tape because you can use the stock one on the board.

yall are lunchin. this is the easiest shit in the fuckin world to do if you have 15 minutes and the right screwdriver. i just did it to two different controllers just to mix and match the colors. now replacing the sticks if you have drift, thats the only thing thats an actual pain. edit: just realized in this video he gets the heat gun out and removes the board. you literally do not have to do all that if you just replace the whole pad. it doesnt have to be broken down like that just to switch pads. the only reason you would ever need to go that far is if the pad that has the color you want is faulty in some way.
