How did you get to a point where you actually WANTED to gain weight? Most people with EDs that I know, even if they have recovered mentally as well as been weight restored, have an aversion to wanting to gain more kilograms.

I think it was partially drilled into me haha but I also knew for myself that I did not like how I looked nor felt. Although it was difficult to wrap my head around this at first, I realised that this could only change if I gained weight, which is how I came to accept it. Now I feel much more energised and 'normal', my mind is much clearer, and I am much more satisfied with how I look. I know this is because of the weight gain and my body leaving starvation mode, so if I were to gain a bit more weight even now I'd happily accept that and think it would be quite nice :). The important thing is to focus on all the other things you gain alongside the 'weight' -- food freedom, more time to focus on other things, less worry from friends/family, etc. xx

You're an inspiration. Even though i am recovered I still watch these videos so I don't go back into my mindset. Does that make sense? I don't want to go through recovery again. But I applaud everyone doing so. Congrats on the channel growth! I hope you change the lives of many boys and girls.

Thank you so much - I read every comment, and it brings so much warmth into my heart to see names pop up that I've seen all the way back when this channel only had several hundred subscribers

LoL. I love that you didn't say your weight or BMI because we alllll know (who have an ed or had) that that question is purely for triggering reasons. So this made me smile 😊

Thanks for another great video :) Have you considered that your current weight might be a healthy one for you if you're 'listening to your body' as you said? People come in all shapes and sizes - maybe a full recovery is accepting your weight no matter what :) You seem to have a good relationship with food, and I gather that you've now got your period back?

Hi there, I do think I might be genetically inclined to be a bit skinnier (this is the case for everyone in my family), but I do still want to gain more weight. My (twin) sister does have a higher BMI than me, so I do think it is possible. Also, I do not yet have my period back, so that is another thing that needs to be taken care of xx
@musicalconnie62167 жыл бұрын
I didn't realise - sorry I don't know why I thought that :/ I'm also in the position of trying to get my period back, but whenever I eat more than my body's used to it makes me so ill that I'm unable to eat much for days :( I'm trying Chinese Herbal Medicine, and have hopes that it'll help me. I suppose it might take a while for your body to trust you again, but you definitely seem as if you're going in the right direction :)

I dont feel hunger, and I dont know When I'm full..I just eat When My parentes says i have to..Will This go over? Because I dont know the different about "Normal-full" and "Ed-full" if you know What I mean( Sorry for bad english)
@HanneArts7 жыл бұрын
It does pass. Eating in accordance to what your parents tell you at first is definitely the way to go. After a while, your body will get used to more regular eating and normal hunger cues will return xx

What were the test that the doctors made you to know that you had anorexia?
@HanneArts7 жыл бұрын
They checked my weight and height after my parents realized I had become more drawn into myself and tired, complaining of stomach aches a lot. They realized I needed to put on some weight then (and prescribed Nutridrinks), but an eating disorder wasn't immediately suspected because I hadn't lost too much weight and had always been underweight to start with.
