There is a reason why models and theories are tested. Like the math that says nukes equal time travel. Math is great, but you always need to experiment. That is how we are so perplexed that subatomic particles don't match models.

When your course is plotted specifically, exclusively line of sight. Then yes, the shortest path in space would be an ellipse. Because your target is always moving. If instead you plot your course according to where your target will be when you arrive. Knowing it's direction and speed of movement. Like leading your target with a weapon. You cannot hit your target by shooting where it is now. Because you know it will not be there by the time your munitions arrive. You aim and shoot where your target will be.

Imagine a xenos species that got into contact with our vast library of pop-culture, literature, games and movies. they could potentially be overwhelmed by the amount of "forethought" we put into imagining what might happen.

Terminator was an odd choice Time travel is a big part of it, but the real danger is in the AI If you want a cautionary tale on time travel, I’d recommend Back to the Future Why not Dr. Who? That more glorifies how much of a joy ride it can be

It is the same problem as Frankenstein: humans attacked the creation so the creation struck back. 'They tried to pull the plug.' Ultimately the time travel was the Grand Father paradox, it created itself. Succeeding in removing Connor removes the reason why it existed in the first place. It was really about the paradox. Think it was.... systm (forgot the spelling) where T-Connor says something about multiple independent timelines (multiverse, he left original and is now in a completely independent one). Don't really accept anything past T2 as canon.

The shortest distance is the path light takes, which looks like a straight line unless space is VERY curved. Unless you exist in a universe with FTL travel... in which case the shortest line is whatever path the fastest form of FTL takes... I think. Anyway, Euclidean Geometry is based one the assumption of a flat plane/space. Which as one video I watched on Euclidean geometry pointed out, is only approximately true over short distances and isn't actually true over very long (astronomical) distances.
