If your your going to go on a Bad Company binge you have to listen to Feel Like Making Love and Shooting Star.
@abbynormal603 ай бұрын
The word is sexy. This is their anthem. There are MANY classic Bad Co tracks. I would need to see what you’ve reacted to. Mick Ralph’s fat guitar tone, Bozz on bass and the pocket drumming of Simon Kirk, just hits you deep in the gut. Them and The Faces are my favorite bands, bar blues sound. Real and raw. No fancy shredding or falsetto vocal gymnastics. Love it. …so you mostly listened to the secondary lineup, 80’s version, no Paul Rogers or Mick Ralph’s. I would suggest Ready for Love…originally a Mott the Hoople song, VERY different as Mick Ralph’s sang lead and their was a bridge sung my Mott’s lead singer and was left out of the vastly improved Bad Company version. Honestly, the entire first album is perfection. Rock Steady is badass track. It’s super raw, and you can tell that Paul Rogers was pushed to the limit. I like that it’s not perfect, that’s rock and roll baby. I personally love Deal with The Preacher from the second record. It’s a deep cut, but it’s really a great track and I feel will impress you. Also Running with the Pack, title track of their excellent third record. It might be my favorite record of theirs. Live For the Music is a track I personally can relate to…followed by Simple Man ( not the Skynard track ). I wish you could do those two in one reaction, as they run together on the album. You’ll see a lot of Shooting Star requests, great story telling. You have to know Feel Like Making Love, if not, it’s a classic off the second record. Good lovin’ Gone Bad starts off the second record with a bang…er. Man, so many great tracks from this excellent group.

Great song. Personally, my favorite Bad Company song is Rock Steady off the same album. Ready for Love, Can’t Get Enough, Live for the Music, Simple Man, Deal with the Preacher, Evil Wind, Wild Fire Woman, Good Lovin Gone Bad and deep cut Leaving You are my favorites. I left off a few of their more popular, partly due to being overlayed like Feel Like Making Love, Rock and Roll Fantasy, Burning Sky and three very popular ones (Shooting Star, Run with the Pack and Seagull). A couple ballads like Silver Blue and Gold and Crazy Circles are excellent too.

The wild thing is, Bad Co is a band from the UK,and yet their music sounds more like American rock. Bad Company is my favorite song from them, but they have a lot more songs you should check out. Their song Electricland is another one of my favorites. Lead singer Paul Rodgers....to me, his voice ranks up there with Steve Perry (Journey) and Lou Gramm (Foreigner). Like I said before, although they are from the UK, Bad Co has been somewhat " Adopted " as American rock because of their sounds.

Agree Paul Rodgers is great. Mick Ralph's lead work is also great - his style with that slow, wide vibrato, has heavily influenced my own guitar playing. Suggested: "Can't Get Enough" and "Movin' On". Also suggest Mott The Hoople (album Mott) with Ralph's guitar work there. Given, you'll get Ian Hunter's vox and not Rodger's, but there are some powerful stories in those songs: "All the Way from Memphis", "I Wish I'd been Your Mother" - that one is a tear jerker
