Wow, another one of your videos I never knew about....until tonight! My notifications are on. You never have to ask for "thumbs up" or subscription from me, because I subscribed last year the first time I saw your videos. All of them, when I see them, get my support and approval. The fact you quit your high stress job, and spend the quality time to make these videos, shows special love. What greater love does man have, but to sacrifice his (life, time, resources) for another. You live that example. So beautiful this gift you share with us.

I have this same issue with anxiety: I have this tendency to "borrow trouble" generating anxiety about either a situation that hasn't arisen yet, or about something out of my control, and now it's about to come back and bite me. So now, I have to tell myself to "Plan For The Worst, but Hope For The Best" and let the rest go. There's some life events that were beyond my control, and the damage is still with me. I have to accept these, but its hard to move forward with a new direction, because so much trauma from the past keeps arising from time to time. My life didnt go in the direction my parents would have wanted, but I feel like I'm doing fairly well, considering the hell I already survived. It may not be acceptable to what my parents would've expected, but I have to make the best of the cards I was dealt. At nearly 60, I have no choice if I want any quality of life, experience love, and peace.

Actually, you are looking more peaceful and happy in this video. Mainly, your background is not black which is a plus point. Good to see that.

Some things I've found that helped shift my perspective have been eliminating toxic influences, adding things to my life that boost positive energy (this video🙂, healthy positive people, nature, and self care), and developing security with myself to feel more grounded and confident. ❤ to all reading this! Thanks you for making this video!👍 ❤

I like how you pointed out we don't want to be reminded of anxiety, but watching things like this helps us build skills for when we need them. After watching your videos for more than a year now, I have found this to be true. The affirmations and skills I learned in other videos got me through many rough nights. I really as appreciate the affirmations in your videos delivered in a caring and calming tone.

I’m so glad to read this. It makes it all worth it for me. I added the note about how we don’t want to be reminded because I’ve lived it. The progress I’ve made has been through practicing and investigating and taking it seriously at times when that was the last thing I wanted to do because I felt ok. I know it’s not typical asmr content, and I see my views reflect that to some extent, but it’s so important to me to share. Thanks for your feedback 🩵

Having two anxiety disorders social and general means I am anxious 100% of everyday so sometimes I cope well other times I can't and it takes me down, but, talking to someone who knows you, and cares about you can shift the way you view yourself and the world. Instead of allowing your mind to push the anxiety further, take a step back, to see through someone elses eyes who may be a lot more clear and see your experience in a helpful way rather then a compound of negative feedback. Not always helpful, something that works sometimes

So much of dealing with anxiety is keeping thoughts in check, and definitely getting support from others can help validate or invalidate specific thoughts. Thoughts have a life of their own, don't they? This is where digging into old beliefs and working with the parts of yourself (Internal Family Systems) might help to try to get at the source. Thoughts go in patterns, but they also can have well-meaning origins that are now outmoded and working against us. Things that we thought were keeping us safe as children are now causing problems in our lives as adults. Thanks for sharing this, Shelby! 🙏🩵

Thank you for another thoughtful video. You are teaching valuable skills for coping with anxiety and how it is a normal part of being human. The information you present will help people develop emotional awareness. Your hand gestures are on the same level as Maria from Gentle Whispering. I want to know why slow hand gestures are soothing and trigger the ASMR sensation. The "science hippies" are putting people in fMRI machines to study ASMR and are publishing research. Scientists need to study this more. [Ze Frank's True Facts- he calls scientists science hippies. 😊 ]

Love this! ASMR really is mysterious and wonderful. I would love to know what the science hippies :) discover. Thanks for comparing me to Maria, though she looks much more advanced than me :) But I like her style.

Thank you for this video after me sharing my experiences on your last video. I want to take a moment to tell you that this last week has been incredibly hard, I'm isolated from everyone I love right now as everyone is far away, and I'm also caring for my mums dog and my parents house, working, exercising, doing all the normal things, and every night I've been so drained and overwhelmed, so, you are providing daily comfort I have truly needed so badly, I don't have time or access to much other support right now and this means so much to me I can't Express in words my gratitude, you are like a friend who is always there though it's just through a video. You're kind, sincere, non judgemental, and provide so much true compassion and soothing energy, I thank you for being here. It means alot to me and every in this safe. A true safe space. ❤😊 Sincerely Shelby 💟

I've recently learned that, sometimes asking someone who knows you and loves you for their personal perspective, and from that point, asking a few other people, can help clear doubt and that triangulation, can show you your own self critic may be and usually is lying to you especially if you struggle with self worth, or anxiety.
@shelbyhxo12 күн бұрын
Another way can be taking time after if not possible during, anxiety or panic or if it's a constant anxiety like mine l, find a moment to stop, breathe and write ✍️ down what is going on and how I'm feeling, what I'm doing, and what I could do, sometimes seeing it changes my personal perspective or allows me to stop being so hard on myself. Other times nothing works and I self soothe until I can deal or cope better .
@ASMR-healing11 күн бұрын
@@shelbyhxo Yes to writing and talking with more than one person about what's going on! Writing is essential for me. I know some people feel like it's a waste of time, but there's something about seeing your own thoughts written down that can give you a whole new perspective on them. I'm sorry things have been so hard lately. Being alone makes it that much harder, even if we prefer to have some time alone as well. I'm so glad my videos are helping. There are more on the way. Hang in there! 🙏🩵
@shelbyhxo11 күн бұрын
😊❤ thank you! I do agree, I used to not see the value in writing until I actually gave it a full shot again, In my teenage years it never helped, as a kid it did. So as an Adult, I've found it quite useful in a way I never imagined it would be as it never helped in the past. 😅 I feel like it aligns to my overall sense of clarity and self awareness in a much more productive and peaceful way that makes sense.

Holding space?
@ASMR-healing12 күн бұрын
Holding space is usually when you're with someone, not on video, but I think a version of it can happen online too. It's when we create a safe and supportive environment for someone to express themselves without judgment, to be fully present for them without trying to fix their problems. Just allowing someone to be where they are. We don't do this in society much. That's why there's a name for it.
