I had a Nutrition instructor in college years and years ago that told me you don't need to take vitamin supplements if you eat a proper diet. I like this emerging field on "Food As Medicine". It's exciting.

Omg yes kiwi the best, especially with skin to give a bit of crunch…He just had a whole episode on kiwi not long ago, I think the green has more phytonutrients & fiber whereas the yellow is close but just sweeter, I eat 2-3 a day, particularly during resistance training, interchanging yellow/green, but the yellow is usually 1.5-2x more expensive sadly 💪😋

Dr Li, I am a huge fan of your work and have both your books but nowhere do you mention Watercress (Cresson in French) despite the considerable science around it's remarkable anti-cancer properties. American pharmaceutical researchers tried for 10 year to synthesize the mustard oils in Watercress but ultimately failed. You can only get the 'medicine' from the source. Watercress is an anti-cancer superfood. Here's one dramatic example, someone smoking 20 cigarettes a day can reduce their chance of lung cancer by 70% (that is not a typo) by eating a 'pillow' of raw watercress a day (i.e. about 120gm). Legend has it that Hippocrates built his hospital next to a stream with an abundant supply of watercress. Since then the science is well established.

It's very interesting but in this video is only talked about the possibilities of food and how they can help us, but there aren't examples. Most of your videos are like this, very very interesting but they don't give any real useful information (i'm not hating i really appreciate and like your videos and the work you do, i just have to say this). It would be nice if you made a educational video that once and for all illustrates the foods that can help us and how they do it, how they work in our body to make us healthier. For examples it was interesting hearing that kiwis are healthy and they help repair dna. But how to they do it? What nutrients are responsable for it? Are there other foods or nutrients that have the same benefit? This is the kind of information that people would like to hear. Your videos are again very interesting but they don't really give useful informations. It would be nice if you could expand a little bit more to give more complete and useful answers. Anyway, thank you for the work you do and for your educational videos, i love watching them.

Dr. Li, you have said eating a half teaspoon of cinnamon daily is good for the individual. The only way I can eat that much cinnamon is mixing it with a little honey and having it in my coffee. You’ve said sugar in coffee takes away the benefits of coffee, is that true for honey too?

I make pour over coffee with cinnamon in the basket. It flavors the coffee. It takes awhile to turn off the sugar flavor, so be patient. (If the honey gets too hot the benefits disappear.)
