I'm a fat guy and find this hilarious. And it's sad that I have to mention that I'm fat. Imagine being offended about the truth. Nobody forced me to eat at McDonalds. I shoveld these burgers In my mouth myself, knowing what would happen. And I certainly could change it if I wanted to. I wasn't always fat. I was always on the chubby side but I was fit enough to play football (the real one, not the american nonsense). Maybe one day I will feel like losing weight. But for now I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to laugh about myself.

As someone who tried for a very long time to put on weight, I have to say it is very hard to eat enough when you just don't have the appetite. You know what is wrong and you know what to do, but it is very hard to do this every day. Just a couple of days here and there won't cut it, you have to change your whole eating routine. The truth is your appetite is controlled by subconscious physical processes that you have to put a lot of effort in to correct. I imagine it is just as hard the other way round.

Peanut butter and milk (assuming you arent lactose intolerant or have peanut allergies) are two great ways to put on weight. Very high density of calories, lots of nutrients, taste good. And if you do a lot of exercise, its also a plus cuz it contains a lot of protein for muscle building. There are a lot of other good foods for weight gain too. Healthy nutrient and calorie dense foods.

@@eragon78 I actually drank two liters of milk a day every day until I was 20. I remained very thin but grew to 2 m tall and it also wrecked my skin with total inflammation. I also really like peanut butter but I haven't been able to eat enough of it for a sufficient period of time to notice any weight gain. After three weeks of overdosing you just can't keep it up.

@@thorium222 my sister have similar condition. She can't but a weight - she tried diets, counting calories and so on. She visited many specialists and just made some progress. She want to put weight to have more "women shape" but she cant. Anyway - thats very rare situations. Most of the problems with weight(probably close to 95%) are strictly connected to your eating habits and the will power.

Most of these issues are interconnected and complex, and solving them on your own takes an incredible amount of self awareness and a very analytical mindset. Telling someone with deep seared emotional issues to "simply solve their obesity" is like telling a homeless person to "just get a job."

@@DPham1 if you've talked to any psychologist or therapist they will tell you everybody comes in saying they have only an emotional or anxiety problem while the problem is seriously deep rooted into something else. Not to mention eating healthier/working out can act as a domino for good habits and seriously change their life for the better.

@@tobicipher9300 yes I agree. But trying to treat treat fitness by itself is often times treating the symptom not the cause. For example, I was never able to stick with weight loss or fitness bc I had a lot of self loathing and self image issues. Id lose weight, and then gain it back again bc of emotional eating issues. Cycle happened again and again. After working with a meditation coach i was able to resolve a large part of these issues, and on my own I decided to lose and weight. I've dropped 17 lbs and I'm the leanest I've ever been. That's just me though and I know others have much bigger issues. But I've come to see that treating fitness in addition to treating the deep issues has done a lot more than just treating one or the other separately.

Glad you found a way that worked for you. As one GP told me 10 calories of excess food a day is 1kg of fat put on in a year. Excess weight makes you crave for more food. Walking off a slice of toast is 10 miles.

My grandmother is severely obese, with messes up joints. I don't really care she could've stopped it 10 years earlier when she could still do stuff.
