Okay, who let the Slaaneshi cultist into our game… again. This should be a museum level study piece for future generations as to why the Social Contract Philosophy is so important. If a player or DM is being dingus and not realizing they’re crossing a boundary they should be talked to given a fair warning. However, when someone comes into the game with the intent to suck the fun out and make everyone fifty shades of uncomfortable. Don’t care who they are, they get the boot. Seriously, players shouldn’t have to build their PC’s in such a way to prevent them from getting violated by another player’s character.

Hello, I'm the op from the Reddit story. To add a couple of updates the games after kicking him have gone very well, and that guy has taken to extreme cyber stalking of the rest of the group and tried to gaslight one of my best friends including use of the classic abuser 101 line of "I hope he gets help" I also didn't do a very good job of timelining the events, the red flags were never sudden or all at once like my post suggests since I sort of rush wrote it. But really the big thing is we sort of did each notice different red flags but because of him being terminally online we never really had a safe way of communicating it in the servers. We should have just messaged after but it always seemed like other people in the group liked the guy (or at least acted like they did to avoid drama). That guy was a classic charismatic abuser who knew a lot about manipulating the group dynamics of introverted nerds. This doesn't excuse me not forcing the situation sooner. It going on that long is absolutely my fault, I should have forced the conversation after the first red flags regardless of what the group consensus seemed to be. Second update, the Jazz Age game will be continuing soon thankfully. One of our first big goals appearntly will be hunting down TG's Giovanni for the dangerous group secrets he has. Very excited to return to my character without fear of having a guy chain homophobic slurs at me

Despite being an adult, she was stuck in the body of a child thanks to her medical condition. Once her show was cancelled, she couldn’t act anymore because thanks to the way she looked, she couldn’t play more mature roles. She found it better to play make believe and pretend that she’s Baby Doll, because the reality of her life is too painful for her to bear. It’s a concept that easily could apply to a vampire. Despite maturing mentally, they’re trapped as a kid. Forced to watch those close to them grow up and leave them behind, unable to grow with them. Their loved ones will grow old and die, and they can’t do a thing about it. Because guess what? They’re just a “kid”.

Our tabletop RPG club in school had a creep! I had the bad luck of picking the same nickname as his real name for my v:tm Malkavian character since I didn't know him, he played this wannabe-smooth toreador called the gentleman and I think got slightly fixated on my videogame nerd who thought she was in the most realistic and amazing VR experience ever. Thankfully she had all the sexuality of a doorknob and avoided any in-game shennanigans, but our gentleman went on to hit on every single girl in the club, including those in very public comitted relationships. I knew this after he had roses delivered to several of us and we started comparing notes, and my opinion of him went from "friendly guy who means well but I'm sorry I'm not attracted to him" to "Oh this guy's actually a creep". His reputation took a nosedive after that, and the nice guy facade slipped right off. I subsequently came out as gay, but that's unrelated. We DID use it to piss him off once when one of the other girls became annoyed at his shennanigans, though. I don't think he liked me much after that.

I have played a child vampire in VtM once. I bought high blood rank, forget what it's called, it has been a long time. But, it wasn't anything sexual. Part of the game was getting enough guards to protect herself from being diablorized and just survive while helping and looking over the homeless. She went after the scumbags for sustenance, using her childhood status to lure them into false senses of superiority. She was never really interested in all the vampire drama though. The moment that PC came and said the OP made a character so I could not molest it. I would have told him its his PC to play HIS way. If that is the biggest problem you are having then this game is not for you. But more likely with the bad attitude, would have kicked, banned and or reported his ass long before.

Playing a child character, even if it a case of having ones age frozen by vampire magic, is going to be uncomfortable for anyone. If you add sexual themes into that, you basically get that one scene of Patrick Star going weewoo weewoo in a panicked voice. This is why aging up characters is preferred. I would certainly love to see how I could work characters like Remilia Scarlet and Flandre Scarlet to work in this role play setting. But they would be aged up to be 25 and 20 respectively so that people don't have to feel like their on an unaired episode of to catch a predator every time Remilia flirts with someone.

There's a flaw in many of the books for like 4 points that means you were turned as a child. Would certainly be kicking things into a whole new gear, but if he wants to keep playin like this for months on end, he’s got somethin comin. Hope things go okay for you and your friends. There's a That Guy in my game that is absolutely a sex pest. I was in two campaigns with him. A lot of overlap between the two groups. One DM removed him already, the other made a ruling that he'd be allowed to finish the campaign since we're so close to the end, but wouldn't be invited back. Not super happy about the ruling, but I trust the DM's judgment and he did promise to closely monitor our That Guy's behavior after I spoke up about it.

ok, i know there are so many worse problems BUT.... I hate people who provoke you and then use your reaction against you, especially because many people have a "don't go down to his level" mentality which basically means that you have to suffer without being able to respond and if you respond you are at fault because you replied

I am in complete and utter disbelief that these people went through all of this and never confronted "That Guy" until the very end! Considering all the hoops they had to jump through to have their characters go un-molested and to "buffer" against him like, HOW! I understand there is giving someone a chance but holy crap some people are just way to forgiving. Even when I was a noobie GM this guy would have been kicked from my table and server for the child sex vampire alone, never mind all the in game PVP and pissing matches with other players.

What I found most annoying about That Guy, was that he would provoke the person then annoyingly point out how they're right, because you raged. I have dealt with that before, and it's specifically done to make you lose all sense of control. It's so mind-bogglingly infuriating for me personally, because you subconsciously do begin feeling like everyone is going to turn against you because you broke out and just the feeling of that person probably actually believing they are right or rather, forced their way into being right is what sends people over the edge... And then that low blow... Yeah, That Guy was a perfect example of an emotional manipulator. Also, if the OP is still there in this comment section... Why would you have to create a character specifically to block yourself from being molested? Shouldn't the DM not allow such actions in general?... I mean I get it, the setting was probably grim dark and such themes were allowed, but player agency over their characters is paramount. As a DM they are a de-facto GOD, who's main goal is to provide a good time for himself and the player majority. The DM should simply tell the player doing an action another player doesn't consent to "no" and end with that. No argument the offender could make can stand up to the fact that the receiving player doesn't consent to it.

Pedo hunter sounds like an interesting character concept, but it looses its appeal the moment you start describing the details of their methods. (Just roll a performance check or whatever and say whether or not it succeeds, then cut to after)

Only a small side note, but OP should stop listing "saying he will write a story about us" as one of the bad things he did, when OP stated earlier that another player was "also a weirdo I'll write about later", and mentioned how he isn't like "the others I've written about". Obviously OP isn't the bad guy in this case, just pointing out a small bit of hypocrisy, just in my opinion

My commentary on this is, we have someone who is hastily writing a RPG Horror story because he heard the guy he's writing about is going to write a RPG Horror story about them. It's going to be a clearly biased story, and very one sided by nature of 'I need to defend my honor', but I have to say... if the OP of this story was so innocent, why did they decide to rush and write a RPG horror story of their own? Why defend themselves if they know they did nothing wrong. Dunno, seems kinda sus, kinda wanna see the other horror story to see how things compare.
@spiffiermage00402 жыл бұрын
That's a fair point, people tend to believe the first side of the story they hear so it could boil down into a he said she said on two different stories with a poisoned well and slander all around. As damning as this story is to That Guy, this could all be to blow smoke up our asses. Or it could be dead on the money, we'll have to wait and see.
@asioca19922 жыл бұрын
Considering the type of person THAT GUY was, if OP hadn't posted his story first, THAT GUY would've probably used his story to both garner sympathy and demonize OP and the group by sharing it to anyone who'd listen. Also, just because you did nothing wrong doesn't mean that you need to defend yourself, if that was the case then simply asking for a lawyer would imply that you did the crime that you were accused of, which isn't how things work.

@@asioca1992 Asking for professional assistance in matters regarding a system that is inherently predatory and is hard wired to convict whomever is pinned with the blame, is quite a stark difference than a he said she said on reddit over a D&D group. No, see you're already proving the inherent problem with this style of story. They heard someone is going to make a RPG horror story post about them, and then they go and make one of their own before the other party can so that they can do just that. I find it heavily suspicious that anyone would go out of their way to do that if they werent even partially guilty. Now, I never said that the OP of the post was guilty and demonizing the innocent party, I just said that this is one of those stories that is going to end up hotly debated over who is right and who is wrong, because both parties decided to take their drama and issues with each other to reddit and social media rather than be adults and work it out between them. Bottom line is, however, that we were not there, we did not see the events of this story unfold as they happened, and thusly so we cannot be 100% convinced who is right in the matter and can't really pass judgement on such regards for that exact reason.
