I do love KZbin. Just doing some research for better balance on a skateboard and Jump Rope was something I seen suggested a couple time. Then I stumble upon this video and legit want to add jump rope to my normal routine. Besides my recreational hobby it'll greatly help with my work which is a warehouse order selector. I basically run a marathon all day and throw heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) into the 1000's count. Also when you shrink warp a pallet you have to bend over, with your arms reached out and jog in a circle while, basically, slowly standing up. A lot of hand/eye coordination, balance and such.

Hey Rush! Love your content 🙏🙏 keep doing what you're doing, I know you're going to continue to excel down line. I want to ask, in terms of doing a double bounce when using a jump rope, is there actually anything 'wrong' with doing a double bounce?? I ask for a friend as I've seen him doing double bounces when he's using a jump rope and I've made an attempt to tell him he's doing it wrong and should revert to single bounce, but he insists on stickin to a double bounce. It's began to get me to question whether a double bounce is quote on quote 'wrong' as a form of exercise. I understand you highlight several points on this video on why double bounces are not effective when jumping rope, but as a form of exercise alone, just questioning if there's anything actually 'wrong' with doing a double bounce. Appreciate your comment on this and hope you stay safe during lockdown.
@RushAthleticsTV4 жыл бұрын
Top comment mate and really interesting question. I think for the purpose of working out and skipping.. there is nothing really ‘wrong’ unless it’ll lead to injuries so in this case it’s not actually wrong to double bounce. I guess I highlight it more in this video as most folks I’ve come to train or hear from try to get out of them to get into a more ‘fluid’ smoother style of skipping to enable ‘better’ form. Hope that all helps.. whatever everyone’s preferences.. the main thing is we’re still flying one way or another ⚡️🙂

Any tips from anyone much appreciated: My left knee is giving jip. Its like its ceased up. I have been skipping for 3 weeks. From 5 mins building up to 25 mins...thanks to Rush Athletics videos and motivation. Any advice? Hurts on the outerside and under kneecap. Im researching on KZbin. Can't get hold of medical advice due to covid.

@Dog Shit Dave I would put laughing emoji but I don't know how to...
@sandralilamaya4 жыл бұрын
Well I can give you advice from personal experience, not medical knowledge. First, don't just skip, do some gymnastics as well. If your muscles aren't toned your junctions will suffer as they have to bear all the load. So exercise your quads, glutes, core and upper body for a while, then (when the pain is gone) reitroduce skipping into your routine. Secondly, don't skip for too long, especially in the beginning. I used to skip for 1h or longer even if I was super tired, because I wanted to pin down some move. That is detrimental, because you damage your body (and if you're tired you aren't going to pin down any moves at all). I developed shin splints which took me ages to recover. Now I skip for 30 mins or less (and I exercise a lot).
