This seems much more expedited and easier than others I’ve seen, which is a blessing for a busy family. Also, love the yield amount. Perfect for a small family or easily doubled or trebled for a large family or party guests. Thanks! ❤️

Wow! This is one of my FAVORITE Chinese delicacies. And you've shown us how simple and easy it is to make our own at home. I had to wait years before flying to some city with a Chinatown like San Francisco, LA, OR NY to be able to enjoy these. Thank you Nancy. You put a big smile on our faces. Love your cooking.

this is one of my favorite dishes! i'm glad to see it's so simple to make. i noticed one restaurant had something similar, but with ground meat added as well. i am wondering if you had a dipping sauce to recommend for the onion pancakes?
@YuCanCook7 жыл бұрын
Faith, you can always use chili oil/sauce mixed with soy and vinegar. 1Tsp chili oil/sauce with 2 Tsp vinegar and 1 Tsp soy and add a pinch of sugar. I like to eat the pancakes naked so the onion flavor shines through.

Mine didn't came out flakey :( looked more like a sense dough. Did I roll with too much pressure?
@lacountess4 жыл бұрын
Mine turned out that way when I used flour with too much protein (bread and roll flour.) The resulting dough was also harder to roll out. The other issue might be that your pan is too hot and the outside of your pancake bakes before the layers have a chance to separate. Than happened to me too.
@justliting4 жыл бұрын
After watching video it looks so easy and I LoVE scallion pancake from the restaurant but after trying it, mine came out so hard!! The opposite of flaky!😂What did I do wrong? And my dough was so sticky I couldn’t even knee it and I didn’t even use up the whole cup of water. And I kept adding more flour to make it manageable. I’m MUCH better at eating then cooking. So sad.

You wouldn't want to feed your dog a whole raw onion, but cooked onions in food are fine. I know, because my dogs have been eating cooked onions all their lives, and I grew up with dogs eating cooked food that had onions in it. So yes, we do have an idea, and its not just an idea, but from long experience.

Also, I feed natural foods to my Greyhounds with thier dry dog food. Yes no onions, mushrooms, garlic, raisins, grapes, etc. But that amount of green onion she gave to her dog is harmless so just relax, fools.

How can someone give a recipe like this: 2 cups of flour and some water? How much water? A recipe is ingredients and quantities, not just ingredients. If she had said something like, "Add water until you think it is correct", at least she would have attempted the second very important part of a recipe, but it still wouldn't be a quantity. Maybe add water until all of the flour dust is consumed? I would think that the water to flour ratio is somewhat critical, not that it needs to be exact, but at least give your viewers some kind of guidance. How about the water temperature? What is warm to you may be hot to me. I think most people aren't afraid to use a thermometer, or to mix, say, one cup boiling water to 2 cups tap water, at least some ration to give you a somewhat repeatable temperature.
@extender216 жыл бұрын
Michael, the entire recipe is in the description box, it includes the quantity of water. And to tell exactly how much water you need depends also on where you live, because flours from different countries and continents absorb different amounts of water. You have to develop a feeling for how much water to add. And to me, "warm" covers anything from warmer than tap water to below boiling. In this case, I would say go to the max where you still can handle the dough. I made this today the first time in my life following another recipe. Not bad at all. I got some tips from here. I still have dough left over wrapped in the fridge (used too much water, had to add flour), so I will make a second badge tomorrow.
