Hi Jules - enjoyed this one. I did all 3 levels in succession. Woohoo! I'm doing so much better after my abdominal hernia surgery! Just a teeny bit sore after that. Might just be muscles getting stronger! 😁 Thank you and enjoy your week ahead! 🫶🏻

I have to agree with so many of the comments - short workouts are great and whoever said shorter workouts are not effective didn’t know what they were talking about lol. I did this one twice just like level 2. Keep them coming Jules.

I did this workout as the last part of my routine today. I find it much more difficult to flex the abs from a seated position than from the floor. The last exercise "lifting the feet" is brilliant and so difficult at the same time. One more exercise I can subtly integrate into my office workout. ;) Thanks, Jules!

Great challenging routine, but Ack! I did this out of sequence. I'll catch up next week with 1&2. For some reason, the chair core exercises are all harder than the standing ones.

Thanks for your feedback about the chair vs the floor ones. No worries about doing them out of sequence. I'm trying to put out different levels for different abilities so if you can easily do level 3, just stick with it and move forward as the more challenging ones come up.

oh that's a tough one/ Trying to work on my hip flexors as well as it still hurts to lift my leg. Ive always had issues with my hips and pelvic area. Can really feel my core after these exercises.

When I am moving forward with my arms behind my head with the flat back, am I pulling my abs in going forward? I understand that the lower back and abs in are pulled in when I am coming back up.

Just think of 'tightening/contracting' them as you come forward (and breathe out). When you go back, focus on keeping your back straight (your abs should naturally tighten up as you lean back). Practise this as you read this...lean back and then feel the lower part of your abs with your hands. You'll notice your muscles will tighten up as you are leaning back. Move around a little bit and see how the muscles in your abs change as you think of bringing the belly button to your back (you should notice that you're more stable in that position as you focus on contracting the abs). Now as you lean forward, breathe out. I hope that helps.

HI JUles. I'm sorry I have a question. I'm still trying to lose weight but hurt both of my feet and can'texercise to lose weight. But I really need tp work on my abs and my stomach. So doing the abs exercises does that mean stomach as well? thank you! Celine

Hi! I'm sorry to hear about your feet, Celine. You can still get in a good workout by doing upper body workouts which will burn calories and keep your range of motion and mobility working for you. I've got lots of seated/chair workouts here and 3 different levels you can choose from in the playlists. My suggestion is to follow the workouts, find the ones that work for you and avoid the lower body portion of the workout for now. A great workout to do would be the upper body strength workouts. As for strengthening the abs, yes abs and stomach are essentially the same thing (abs are your muscles, while your stomach is holding your food, but when we talk about getting a flatter stomach, we mean stronger abs). When we say the core, we're including the pelvic floor, abdominal muscles and lower back muscles which all together help us with better posture and support our body. I'll attach my new chair channel here to give you more options as well. I think if you try them out, you'll be pleasantly surprised that you can still get in a good workout even though you can avoid the leg movements (I think the gentle workouts will be a good choice since they have less leg movements). www.youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
