hi there! your videos are always informative. thank you. I have PF for about more than a year now on my right foot. same goes for my right shin pain. it has made me stopped running for over year. I have been diagnosed with a longer left leg (+2.3cm) thus the pain. the pain has lessen up to a scale of 3/10. I have custom orthotics meant to balance my legs. Shall I transition to a minimalistic shoe now? and if yes, should I continue using the custom orthotics and which shoe should I get? I am planning on nike free 3.0s for a start then transition into more minimalist shoes. May I ask for your advice? and how long should I wear the nike's if yes before I transition?

PF started due to years of landing on right heel unaware of leg length discrepancy...

Right, ok. So in that situation, I would try to find a shoe lift insole that fixes your leg length discrepancy, but does not support the arch of the foot. And there is no time estimate for changing shoes. Play it by feel. This should be a very slow and gradual progression. You should probably start wearing some toe spreading devices as well. Look at your feet and try to notice if one pronates more than the other. Does one have a smaller arch? Make sure you start some foot exercises as well. It may be hard to find an insole that fixes the leg length issue that does not support the foot much.

+PlantarFasciitis SurvivalGuide thank you. is there a way to check whether which foot pronates more? I remembered going for a video check up when running using a Asics Gel Kayano 21 (extremely stable shoe) and the person said my left leg supinates while my right leg lands normally. I am wearing a new Nike free 4.0 and feels different already. Can feel my calves muscles being engaged but when I walk too long, the very bottom of my foot (somewhere down the middle) feels really heaty. Is it due to waste material being discharged? I am also taking your advice by eating healthier whole foods, and cod liver oil and vitamin k2. I have mild exostosis on my left knee. Will taking excess magnesium or vitamins affect the exostosis growth? Sorry for the long reply. Will appreciate a reply.

If you want to be careful with mineral intake, eat bone broth. K2 and cod liver is good idea. And a lot of vitamins or supplements, on the market today will cause problems. I am not a big fan of most vitamin products. Lots of junk out there. And that walking gait pattern is to be expected if you have leg length discrepancy. And soreness is probably due to muscles firing in new ranges of motion. I would work out the calves as much as possible. You could be having a pain referral from the deep calf muscles, such as flexor digitorum longus or the flexor hallucis longus. Or tibialis posterior. This is due to abnormal walking gait pattern. Is one side more sore than the other? I would really feel around the whole leg and foot and try to find any kind of hard areas. You may have entire muscles in mild spasm to compensate for abnormal walking gait patterns.

Sounds like you are going in right direction. For the foot that supinates, I would release foot and calf flexors. The deep ones. May not be moving properly if stiff

Now ur talkin like a doc 😂 running causes pain? Stop running 😁 jk man. I've found losing weight, correcting gait and eating healthier helps. Also changing terrain of the run works your muscles differently and relieves the pain.
