This is what I am doing at my job currently...because I hate it. I see no future in the job. They have talked to me about how they "need more" from me. Now, I AM doing my job. I'm just not enthusiastic or taking on extra things ( all things they say I need to be doing). I also leave work for lunch. They have told me that I should work during my lunch...off the clock. I laughed and said I don't work for free...so yeah...hell yes I'm quiet quitting. I'm not giving all my energy to a job I'm not enjoying. I'm showing up...doing the job and leaving. I'm tired. all the time. I get sick constantly, oh yeah and my job is also in a hospital doing IT...for the whole hospital plus a bunch of clinics. Healthcare is very draining. People are very needy. It makes me hate everyone. I used to love people and working with them. This job is changing me in ways I don't like. I am working to change that. I hope to find something more enjoyable...very soon. Love your videos by the way!! 😊😊

Excellent video! Your points are structured well and this topic is so damn important. I think the clips you played were excellent. Kevin O'Leary often says the quite part out loud, which is the capitalist class wants to exploit all workers for their maximum output. Work/life balance is not something that is profitable. In his mind the salary is a version of ownership and always subject to boss approval...with the counterbalance as having that fixed guaranteed wage. The creation of the term "quiet quitting" is the latest effort to discipline labor into devoting their entire existence to productive output. So Trevor said it right, no that's just working.

On a more personal note, I commend you for trying to balance work and life given your field. I can only imagine how hard it is working a meaningful job with real people who appreciate your efforts and then telling them you need a break. Still needs to be done but I just wanted to recognize that!

@@thesilvertechie3070 It's great to see others realizing the problems underlying this whole "quiet quitting" thing. My work definitely brings me a sense of meaning and people are appreciative SOMETIMES lol, but maintaining a healthy work-life balance is a non-negotiable to prevent burnout and preserve my mental wellbeing. thank you so much for your wonderful comment and for watching!

You're right. It's not a bad thing to have your career core to how you live, and it's not bad to have a job that is in service of other parts of your life. The problem is when round pegs are jammed into square holes.
