I do have some advice for anyone starting either this challenge or any of Chloe's other challenges/programs. So far I've done two of them (Flat Belly and Summer Shred 2019) with great results. The advice I'm going to give is just that, advice. You can follow it or not, but it's advice I'm giving based on my experiences. 1. Get workout gloves and other workout "armor" - While doing these workouts, my hands were getting badly damaged. I have eczema on my right hand, which is probably a major factor. I found wearing workout gloves makes it easier to protect them. That and I would sweat so much that I would start slipping on my yoga mat. The gloves keep you from slipping and face planting. If you can get something for your arms/elbows, I would recommend that as well. There are some dry spots on my elbows from the up and down plank, plus other plank positions. 2. Take a break between challenges - The two programs I did, I did them consecutively. Once I finished the Flat Belly Challenge, I did the 2019 Summer Shred Challenge. This was a mistake because of the intensity of the programs. Halfway through the Summer Shred Challenge my body wanted to give up because I was pushing myself too hard. I would recommend taking four days up to a week rest between each challenge. Meaning, do not exercise at all. Let your body recover. If you still feel the need to exercise during this break, do light exercises like walking. 3. Don't skip stretches - Stretches help your muscles stay loose and makes it easier to exercise. If you skip them, your muscles will strain, which increases the risk of injury. Warm-up are also good to do before workouts because they loosen your muscles and make it easier to do the workouts. 4. Eat before and after each workout - Eat something small before each workout to give you a boost of energy. This helps you put forth maximum effort into your workouts. When you're exhausted and have no energy, you won't be able to get the most out of it. I would recommend a handful of nuts or something that is high in protein. Also, eat something after the workout as well. You've expended a lot of energy and you need it in order to properly recover. It's recommended you eat protein and carbs for best results. I like to have a peanut butter (powder) and banana smoothie with 1% milk because it has good carbs and lots of protein in it. 5. Do not have a restrictive diet - Your diet is the most factor in all of this. If you restrict yourself too much, you will definitely lose weight, but you will also be exhausted and possibly lose motivation. Not to mention that restrictive diets also keep you from getting essential nutrients. If you're on a restrictive diet for medical reasons, then that's fine. However, if you don't need to be on a restrictive diet it's best to just change eating habits and make your diet more balanced. As long as you have a balanced diet, you will see fantastic results. I would say stick to Chloe's advice and do a 80:20 diet (80% healthy, 20% unhealthy). 6. Don't focus just on the numbers - When I started my weight loss journey about 2-3 years ago, I weighed 236 lbs (highest I've ever weighed was 256 lbs). Most of the weight I've lost, I did by just changing my dietary habits and eating better. I was able to get myself down to 155 lbs with very little exercise involved. I didn't find Chloe until this point and started doing her challenges at the the beginning of May. From her two programs I was able to lose about 10-15 lbs. But it's not just about the numbers. It's also how I feel and look. I didn't get the results I wanted exactly, but I still got results that made me happy and feel better about myself. In other words, don't worry about the number on the scale not going down. Instead, look at yourself and feel better with the positive changes you're making. 7. It all takes time - Everyone's body is different, therefore all of us will react differently to these workouts and diet changes. Some will see immediate results, some won't. Like I said, I didn't get the exact results I wanted, but that doesn't mean I will give up. In just two months, I've been able to make positive changes, even if they aren't that major. Things take time, but you will eventually get to where you want to be. Patience is key to fitness, but the time and effort you put into is worth it because you will just feel so much better about yourself. 8. Scheduling (added 7/1/19) - Scheduling is the most difficult aspect of weight loss. You wonder when should you work out: morning or night? How many days? When should you do your rest days? The simplest answer to all of these is to just make the schedule work best for you and your needs. The schedule that Chloe creates is a guideline, not a strict schedule you have to follow. I personally modified all of Chloe's schedules to fit the days that would work best for me to work out and which ones to take as rest days. As for "when," it doesn't matter honestly. I do my workouts after work when I get home and right before dinner. If you're more of morning person, then do them then. If you're more of an evening person, have at it. Just don't use time as an excuse for not reaching your goals. 9. "Female Problems" (Added 7/1/19 edited 7/4/19) - I wanted to address this particularly because I've seen mentions of it on Chloe's other videos. Ladies, please do not use TOM/Flo/Mother Nature/Whatever you call it as an excuse to not work out. If you're cramping bad, just do low impact. I know it doesn't feel pleasant to work out during that time of month, but do not use that as an excuse. Studies have shown that exercising can actually help with proper regulation of periods and make cramping less painful. If you have a medical condition (either related or unrelated to your period) then do what you can. If it's too painful to do low impact of these exercises, then try something lighter if possible like walking. If you have extreme symptoms like cramping that makes you immobile and have not done so, see a doctor. Fiona MG made a comment below regarding this. I would recommend you read it if you have extreme symptoms during your period as going undiagnosed for a medical problem can negatively impact your life. Either way, do not push yourself or feel guilty if you have a medical condition. As for the ladies who do not have a medical condition, I don't want you to feel guilty either, but I want to encourage you. For change to happen, you need to put in effort and using every little thing as an excuse will only hinder you. I'm female too, I know what it's like to workout on your period. It doesn't feel good, but trust me when I say you feel like you've accomplished so much more when you overcome that fatigue and bloating by pushing yourself just a bit. 10. Engaging your core (Added 7/2/19) - I'm adding this one because someone asked about it. Engaging your core means tightening your ab muscles. This is extremely difficult to learn to do. It's best to practice this when you're not working out to make it easier to learn how to control it. I found the best way to do this is to have perfect posture. When you stand perfectly straight, you naturally tighten your core a bit this is the feeling you want when exercising. You can tighten them even more when you breath out. Try doing breathing exercises where you tighten your core while breathing out to get use to this feeling. Once you get use to it, you can try the same techniques when working out. Eventually, it'll become habitual.

You probably don’t work out your arm muscles as much. That’s most likely why. I was like that too. It’ll hurt your arms for a while until you get used to it.

Yes! I watched other workout video where a girl did almost 40 mins of cardio with active rest (which means you have to jog during the rest) and she didn't break a sweat! Chloe seems more human... I feel more relatable and enjoy her workout videos more than other channels👍

For anyone scrolling through the comments to see if this works and if anyone’s actually gotten results from this- IT DOES WORK. I’ve been doing this workout for a few weeks and I can definitely notice a huge difference. Just keep going and have patience and faith in your body. It might take a while, but you WILL get those desired results.

@@Ari-vi5uh Welp my booty was already sort of big, just not very shaped, I guess? But after I did this workout it sort of burned fat in some of the areas I didn't want it and got a bit bigger in areas I did. It also lifted it a bit. If you know what I mean XD Good luck on your glow up! I'm sure you'll get all you desired body results :)

My booty is 96 cm/ 37,79 inches (i don't know if it's right or wrong) and the same thing happens to me, was sort of big, but no very shaped. Sorry for this long comment! 🙄🖤

26 days Hourglass Challenge: Day 1 : done! Day 2 : done! Day 3 : done! Day 4 rest day. Last night I couldn't sleep because my back and left shoulder was hurting :( Day 5 : done! My back doesn't hurt today. Day 6 : done! It was hard today, I think because I walked almost 25000 steps :D Day 7 rest day Day 8 : done! (Oh, somebody liked my post :) ) Day 9 : done! Day 10 : done! (I have one more like :) ) Day 11 rest day Day 12 : done! Day 13 : done! Day 14 : rest day, I took one more rest day because I was travelling and had my period Day 15 : done! Day 16 : done! Hey guys to let you know that I'm doing these exercises for not too long but I'm already seeing changes. I don't do these exercises everyday. I do these whenever I'm free and I don't maintain any strict diet. I eat whatever I want😂. My waist seems smaller than before and my hips have become curvier too. So don't lose hope . You know, you could just try and do the workout, I do it at home on my rug and a towel, and it really doesn't take much time. Once you start it you will probably want to continue because of the happiness you get after finishing one of these and the results, and believe me when I say that you can do it. It is gonna be hard at first but let the pain and hardships motivate you. Just god damn play the video and try to follow along, and even if you can't do it well, it's normal, you will with time. Fitness can be a hobby, and you can not follow the program exactly or do it at 1 am like me, but if you want to you can really do it!

Woo hooo! Day 2 done! Doing two challenges at the same time (hourglass and flat tummy 1 months) and today was thanksgiving but still pushed to do my full workout today! Really proud of myself! I have done the whole workout and I've got to say I'm very sweaty and tired. But the workout made me feel strong and healthy. I could do most of the exercises except the bird plank thing, my arms hurt a bit so I stopped for a moment, but the important thing is that I kept going. Of course you'll have ups and downs, but it's important you never give up. Love you Chloe.💜🤗🔥🔥

I'm on day 18 of the Hourglass program and so far so good! The exercises definitely get easier as you go. I use both resistance bands and ankle weights and it's working, I feel so much stronger. When I first started, I could not do the frog kicks at all. Now, I'm a frog kick pro lol

@lisnette salina Hi, there. Make sure to do proper warm-ups before you work out to prepare your muscles. Also, do the same after you wake up the following day. That's what my gym instructor said and it personally helps. Anyway, hope you're feeling and doing better. 😊

This is my 5th day of doing the exercises. Some tips I thought that might be useful for beginners: -If you are new to exercising, please don't jump in straightaway. Your body will be sore and you will grow to hate it. I recommend the first week doing it for three days and resting before sticking to the routine everyday. -These exercises are great for your abs and butt, please bare in mind your results really will vary if you aren't incorporating cardio into your routine! If a flatter tummy is a key to your goal jogging and running should be incorporated.\ -You will get better in time and stronger! Shaking is normal during exercise! Results can take up to 8 weeks to begin showing! You got this guys!

I noticed the difference on the first day. I couldn't believe what happened to me. I completed the second and third day. Really great and clear result from the first time. Today I am on the third day of the programme Tomorrow is the fourth day. I recommend following the most wonderful program. Thank you very much, and I pray to God to guide you and deliver you 🤲🤲🤲

I’m currently on day 6 on the abs and booty program, and i’ve seen a lot of progress so far whenever i flex i’m able to see my abs coming in, my belly has also gotten more harder and i’ve seen some belly rolls disappear. It helps a lot and i would 💯 recommend

This video is not part of the program I'm following, but I wanted to switch up my routine and try something different so I did this. I am amazed at how much stronger I've gotten from following Chloe Ting's programs. When I first started these workouts about 4 weeks ago, I could NOT do fire hydrants to save my life. They were so hard! Today though, they were so easy I think I will buy resistance bands so they are more challenging in the future. Totally amazing how quickly our bodies gain strength and adapt.💪 Thank you sooo much, Chloe for these videos/programs. I can't express how much of a change it's made in my life

Hi, I finished this hourglass programme and I'm so happy about the results. After 26 days I lost 5 centimeters from my waist and my booty looks rounder. I've more energy and I feel much more comfortable with my body. Thanks for that amazing challenge.

YOU HAVE TO WORK ON YOUR SHOULDER TOO! An hourglass figure doesnt means to have big butt. It means that hips AND shoulders are the same size and the waist is min 25% smaller. Most of you just train for a pearshape.

Man, this was a good one! Sometimes I see comments of people saying they don't know how to engage their core. That always kind of baffled me, but I realized that I haven't always been engaging my glutes when I workout! I've built a lot of strength in the last few weeks and yesterday and today were the first times I was able to REALLY engage my glutes! Feels great. I've done 3 Chloe videos today and now I'm gonna do Daisy Keech's bubble butt video and call it a day 🍑🍰🍑🍰🍑

Some tips when doing the exercises: In general, the slower you go, the harder it is. If you want to add some cardio, go faster during exercises like mountain climbers,, but if you want to really feel that burn, try to slow down and really hold the poses for a second or two! When doing glute bridges, the further away your feet are from your butt, the harder it is. Is it too hard? push your heels against your butt. Is it too easy? walker further away, and really hoooold that bridge at the top before going down again! Still too easy?? put your feet high up, like on a chair or something, then it's even harder!
