Just adding on bc I’m annoying: Reboots are generally okay, because I think it’s a way to showcase development of technology and animation, and it sometimes adds more to the original story, ya know? But that being said, reboots shouldn’t be the main thing Disney should be focusing on, ESPECIALLY if they’re making shitty reboots like Kim possible. They should treat reboots as side projects. Disney should be using their funds to innovate. And if they can’t think of anything new, maybe they should hire different people with fresh ideas. There’s plenty of talented individuals out there who push boundaries and create extraordinary things. I just think Disney is afraid that if they create something original it would turn out to be a total flop.

While I felt a bit iffy about the plot, which was kind of weak in my opinion, I genuinely liked the idea of Alice returning to Wonderland and finding out that it has completely changed since she last visited it. I like how they took the source material and made an interesting continuation of the original story. I also genuinely love the art direction in that movie, very atmospheric! I'm also a pretty big fan of American McGee's Alice: Madness Returns, which is a game with the same premise, but it's executed quite differently

My problem with this live action movie is that every kids network is trying to make their casts younger and younger... I was a child when the cartoon came out; Kim, Ron, and Wade were clearly all teenagers around 14-17, and that’s a part of what made the show so much cooler to me when I was an elementary/middle-schooler, and is also why I’m able to rewatch the series as an adult. This live action movie is like the latest Nickelodeon sitcoms, casting kids that are like 11 or younger who can’t act to save their lives. Also, cartoons allow for *stellar* voice casting. The casting of Christy Carlson Romano (of Even Stevens fame) as Kim, Will Friedle (of Boy Meets World fame) as Ron, Nicole Sullivan (from Buzz Lightyear) as Shego, and John DiMaggio (everyone knows as Bender from Futurama) as Drakken, was a superb and unforgettable cast. Why Disney has to do live-action remakes with total nobodies is beyond me... 😒
