Made this for dinner tonight. We can't do the mozzarella balls, lactose issue, but non dairy mozzarella shreds worked just fine in the meal. Family really loved it. It will be added to favorite recipe collection. It was easy and excellent.

FYI- if u have the more common lactose malabsorption and not the less common casein allergy, you can do lactose as long as you take enough lactase (lactaid) tabs spread out during meal. I would prob start w 2 tabs after a couple of bites and then 1-2 midway and 1-2 at end for this kind of meal. If u take more than u need u just deplete your bottle but nothing bad happens If u don’t take enuf; we’ll u know what happens 🤢💩

Made this last night. After tasting, I added a little cornstarch slurry to give the liquid more body. After bringing to a boil, I put a lid on the pan, turned off the heat, and let it sit for 15 minutes. It was much better after all the flavors had time to meld together.

What a great hack. That definitely looks fancy-schmancy yet actually takes no effort. If you get dumped on with guests at the last minute I need to make something that looks and tastes high effort but he’s really low effort, this is great. Made this tonight and it was delicious. However, the pasta took way longer to cook and the tomatoes basically disintegrated. I'll definitely make it again but will not add the tomatoes until the pasta is almost done.

I find the idea of cheese balls very unappealing, and I have no time for Mozzarella, the no-flavour cheese. I like the composition of this dish but it does need something to finish it, so for me it would be a grated parmesan or romano. Perfectly sympathetic with the ingredients, including the lemon juice I would use instead of wine, and, lightly grated, not dominating, just a kicker. Thinking of kicker, a few red pepper flakes n the oil might not go amiss -- the smoked paprika is piquant, but on the whole it all looks a tad bland.
