Adorable! I've been trying to train my little guy to do that for a month now, but no luck. At least the many failed attempts have provided a lot of laughs.

So cool, I've been working on teaching my german shepherd mix this for some time now, but it's still cool to see other dogs do it!

can you please share a video as to how you trained Luna to do this? I really want to try with with my two Goldens.

Yes, I'd like a video of how to teach this too. Please.

superwomae I'm currently training Mookie to show the steps, Luna would make it too easy and skip important steps because she already knows the final behaviour.

Le Jardin De Snow Teach your dog how to hold an object in her mouth and mark (verbal or clicker) and reward before the dog can start chewing on it.

I've noticed in several of your videos that you toss the reward on the ground. Why is that? Why not hand feed it to the dog? thank you so much for being a trainer that actually teaches things instead of just advertising themselves.
@Krissykris14688 жыл бұрын
Dora S It really doesn't matter. If I was trying to build a relationship with the dog I would feed from my hand. But if you already have a awesome relationship, then it doesn't matter. I probably threw it on the ground cause I didn't want a slobbery hand ;)

Lol! Omg, so true about the slobbery hand! Thank you!!

Kristin Crestejo I once had a trainer respond to a similar question I asked and he said that when he threw it on the ground or away from the desired position, it re-set the dog and helped reinforce the exact behavior or movement that warranted the reward. As in down, mar and then toss the treat a few feet away so that the dog gets up to get it. He claimed it re-focused. Is this true?

Sounds silly, bu any tips on teaching a puppy (Shiba Inu) to actually catch a ball/frisbee? He loves to play fetch, just is too clumsy haha

*slowly raises hand * I'm an aspiring dog trainer and I just taught my dog Naga how to catch 😄
