NOTIFICATION SQUAD: How much volcano is too much volcano? I hope you enjoyed our hasty attempt at producing a rap music video. Go easy on us! We pulled it off in around 9 hours. It was pretty intense, but certainly one of the most fun challenges I can recall in Journey Across Japan history. Certainly much more fun than flying in a turbulent Cessna over an active volcano. ♨️Journey Across Japan continues next weekend! Onwards to Nagasaki and the two abandoned islands.

You know what always brings me back to binging Chris' videos? The absolute authenticity of it all. Sure, some parts are partially scripted and by his own admission his cynical-ness is somewhat put on, but his interactions with his friends like Natsuki, Joey, Ryotaro, etc. just seem so genuine that it always brings a smile to my face. No kidding! I remember when amateur videographers would actually buy hobby/RC toy helicopters and they'd fabricate rigs to attach their Canon EOS 5D on it and use it for aerial shots The results were really really impressive as it was amateur/non-professionnal content, I was blown away! And that was 2005-2008 if I recall correctly, in the very early days of KZbin _(in fact the videos I saw weren't on KZbin then, they were from various short-film festivals)_ - drones definitely changed the game

But, he just let the 2 others do the work. Didn‘t see him working, nor performing, just as when HE was challenged to catch HIS OWN food - there he also let nats‘ki & joey fish, although the challenge was for him, because people want to see HIM failing. It‘s alright if the others participate, makes it more funny, but if he himself doesn‘t participate it‘s simply „challenge: failed“.

It's so fun to watch how much these guys go all out even for "ridiculous" challenges. Given that they've already produced 4 commercials and a music video on shoestring budgets, it would be really interesting to see what Chris and Co. could do for a real TV commercial with an actual budget.

I can't imagine all the work that goes into these videos. I think the Aso farm village might be a great "hidden" gem spot for photoshoots. As you said it looks kinda like Tatooine. It could be a cool spot for cosplayers to get some cool interesting backgrounds without too many people around. Also sounds like a cost-effective spot as well. It might be a fun idea to go there with a larger group, seeing as you'd likely have it to yourselves. You guys did a great job on the song.
