Why remake the film if you aren't going to cast Phelan as live action Old Man?
@gabe_s_videos7 жыл бұрын
I never thought about it but yea, the live-action remakes are kind of like the successor to Disney's direct-to-video sequels: it's something that really doesn't need to exist that's built on brand name recognition, and it's highly unlikely that the filmmakers have more of a vision than advertising the DVD of the original version.

All the remakes prove that modern Hollywood writers have come to a point that if any original idea ever pops up in their heads, they'd probably think it's a tumor.

I hate this notion of ''You are too attached to the original, you should see this film as it's on thing'', the thing these movies (specifically the disney live action versions of their animated stuff, but it could be applied to other remakes) don't exist in a vacuum, in fact the only reason they were made it's because of the original film to the point where they copy the way characters look, talk and even song numbers from the cartoon. My point is I feel the film can and should be compared to the original, specially in a case like this where they play on the nostalgia people have to the cartoon to make people go watch it.

Don't you try to heavy breath insult the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies

Good god, let him have his opinion. Stop trying to "gotcha" him and insisting "IT CHANGED A LOT" and then say it was a line or a non-character's backstory. It's basically shot-for-shot, it's marketed as shot-for-shot. I loved Jungle Book because it changed a huge chunk of it for the better (my childhood was never at peace with the original's ending) while keeping it familiar. I hated Cinderella because it changed parts of it for the worse and came off shallow, with someone sitting on the saturation button. I won't even see BatB because the cgi is nightmare fuel. And Watson as Belle seems like a failure in every aspect, but mostly that cgi tho. WHY.

What Brad describes at the beginning sounds almost like an Uncanny Valley for remakes. It got

My main problem with this is that Emma Watson's acting just seems....off. It feels more a retread of Hermoine than Belle

Brad, there's a very good reason this movie exists, you see...

They should've never let Emma Watson have control over Belle's iconic dress.

This is easily the least necessary remake Disney has done to date.

I have to agree with Brad. They didn't take enough risks to warrant pointing out the changes, so I can't help but feel this was nothing but another cash cow getting milked by Disney. And yes, I know that's a thing that they do, but I don't think they'd be the company that so many love if they hadn't at least had SOME passion and need for innovation in a lot of their films.

She says in the first 5 minutes that it's "exactly the same" then goes on to say that they "changed a bunch of things"...? Ex-squeeze me? Can't have it both ways, lady.

Younger, super in shape for the role Patrick Warburton would be amazing as Gaston.

Hugh Jackman is over 6 feet. He's very tall. He likes to go to conventions dressed as Wolverine and have nerdy folks tell him he's too tall to play Wolverine (who is 5'1).
