Hi Allen, Just wanted to let you know coins are left at a grave as a symbol of remembrance and respect however they usually are felt on top of the grave but it still amazing that Beatle fan are still stopping by to show there respect to Stuart.

I was there this past July and I left original sheet music of Elvis’s Love Me Tender there for him because he loved to sing that song in Hamburg. Was an honor to visit his grave. I’m from Chicago.

It would be easy to miss the separate graveyard across the road & head straight for the chuch! Not only have I seen the gravestone but you've just brought back memories! I left school in the early eighties & straight on to a Y.O.P. scheme..which was actually based on the church grounds there...& we used to tidy up that cemetery/gravestones with strimmers etc. One thing I remember about the church grounds instead...was a hollowed out human shape in an empty coffin shaped raised stone? Anyway!...Tnx for the memories & bringing it all back to me...& making me feel where did life go lol.

Thanks Alan,a wonderfull tribute video and very informative ,Also regarding the coins/pennies being left on a headstone can be a symbol/tradition of remembrance and respect and was a way of telling all who pass by that the person buried there was loved and remembered,and may also be a meaning 🎼pennies from heaven🎼 as in the song.
@MotorHomeBeepBeep2 жыл бұрын
Thank you ever so much Graham and your comments are much appreciated, but I'm very pleased with the connection from the song pennies from heaven. I never thought of that one. I love to find out the reasons and usually, somebody knows like you. All the best, Alan

Life isn’t fair. If only, he was taken to a hospital when he got hit from the fight where he fell head down first, and had taken X-ray then, he would not have died this young. He had refused to take the X-ray and had a skull fracture in Jan 1961 according to a report. His friend had a broken finger? Lennon. His parents should have pushed him to see a doctor. I feel bad for his family who lost a young child. RIP - gone too soon.

Nice video. I like learning about people's lives, shame he died so young. When I was a kid I thought they must like insects to call their band the beetles, took me some years to spot the difference in how it was spelt Hehehe. Strange that thing with the pennies
@MotorHomeBeepBeep2 жыл бұрын
Hi Abe I guess you've got to remember that when he died they weren't famous. They were just a jobbing band in Hamburg but he had the seedlings because he was in the music world and getting noticed in the art world. You get the feeling he could have been big time. And great minds think alike. I thought of The Beatles most of my life as the insects completely missing the spelling, but then again I am dyslexic to some degree I think. Thank you for the lovely comments. Glad you enjoyed it. Never personally seen the pennies before .... Best Alan

I see often pennies left on graves as well as pebbles. I think folk leave them just as a token in place of a flower memorial.
@MotorHomeBeepBeep2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're probably right. I was just throwing a bit with penny lane and the fact they were mostly pennies......
@thebohemian.2 жыл бұрын
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep When you visit cemeteries always keep an eye out, not only for the grave you are looking for but those with floral tributes, not those recently passed but those attended regularly. See if there are any other tokens. I’ve seen all sorts over the years. In my local cemetery lies an ex pub landlady I knew for many years. There’s always a collection of Smirnoff miniatures amongst the flowers. 😊
@MotorHomeBeepBeep2 жыл бұрын
@@thebohemian. Yeah I can. Kind of totally understand that people that actually knew the person would leave something appropriate and personal to their memory of them. The problem is that sometimes you're just so focused on getting the film done and finding the target of your mission. But yes I'll try and keep an open eye. I did that with Stuart Sutcliffe and never went there to see him. My mind was ringing bells when i noticed the head stone i even took a picture to look it up and then I saw the bench and it all fell into place e

Really liking your channel it's full of really interesting information... As a guide only and try not to be offended; it's a quiet observation only, move the camera up level with your face and a moisture wipe may be useful to remove the saliva prior to filming. It's great content and really appreciated ... No offense intended. I wish you every success 👍

Didn't him and Lennon used to busk when they were at college, to earn a few extra quid? That would explain the bowl and coins.

To say it is the Parish Church Liverpool is misleading ,there must be a number with this name being old villages which are now part of Liverpool.i think this is Huyton village Church Freddy Star grew up nearby so people think he is Buried there.

Hi Beep Beep,yes freddy grew up about a five minute walk from Huyton Church you may not know but Freddy played a big part in a Film called Violent Playground set in liverpool the main actor being David Mcallum who was later famous as THE MAN FROM UNCLE Freddy was only about 14 at the time he also toured theatres in a Roadshow with a lot of other junior talent he would have been about 15 then at about 19 0r 20 years of age he had a Band in Liverpool called Freddy Star and the Midnighters.Hope my information has been helpfull.

Wrong, John Lennon stated many years back that his brain hemorrhage was probably the result of a beating to the head he received when they were playing a concert at a venue in Litherland Liverpool, John has stated , they were attacked by a group of Men and Stuart was kicked to the head while he was on the floor!! Okay Paul. Thank you. I didn't realise I'll take note. I remember going to do one famous grave in a Jewish cemetery and they were so close together that I had to stand on a great behind to film the gravy in front and it took me literally 30 minutes to go and get some hot water to clean it down cuz of my footprints so I never done intentionally.
