@@zzloasOf course, there is game sense in all games - the difference is how much the basics of the game caters to high use of game sense compared to mechanics and tunnel visioning. COD is a game designed to funnel people together, and in general there is not too high consequence with not valuing your life, and running and gunning has high reward (if you are sufficiently skilled). Then transfer those general mindsets of the average COD player into Overwatch, and all those elements become negatives because Overwatch in general caters much more to game sense over raw mechanics due to the nature of the entire game design. Not saying mechanical skill is not useful, but on its own it wont get you far, whereas in COD it is easier to rely on mechanical skill and build a very basic game sense. And my comment about "no game sense at all" refers to the obvious lack of Overwatch specific game sense, which is different from most tactical shooters like COD, Battlefield, CS, etc.

There can be an HUGE difference in actual skill between 2 people with the SAME SR. SR to me means Skill Roulette. Sure there may be a mean average that SR represents but if you are above the average you just get grouped with people below the avg forcing you to sometimes hard carry to climb.

Former Xbox player here. I was a diamond support/tank. I placed silver tank on PC, plat support. Am reasonably sure that ranks Bronze-Plat on console are predominantly determined by your controller mastery, not game sense - which is why plat is such a mess of people in the middle rung of the latter who have no idea about positioning and struggle to track targets.

I am about 8 mins in, I have to realize how much more educated I am than I was... said a year ago. I hate how OW rewards people playing so sh**ty and still be on fire and gold elm/dmg/whatever. And they will be like: GTFO, I am gold (fill-in-the-blank) what do you have? I admit I sometimes do use this sentence but for a good reason: they are not doing what they are supposed to do... For example: Play as Moira, gold heal, check; gold fking elim with less than 4 kills and it is not assisted kill? DPS you should probably quit the game now. @@jaquirox6579 Hi, I play alone, none of my friends plays OW, yes I climbed out of plat and diamond into masters by myself (Miracle isnt it). Whenever I play OW I just focus and ofc play the role that you queue for, don't be one of those moira that runs away from the team just to right click. if you queue to play as support then play as a support not a DPS (Its fine to kill sometimes but its situational). Also I will consistently check myself (as in position) if I was in the best possible spot that will give the most value to my team. Whenever I die i'll think back to how I die and what I could have done to avoid that and ask myself "what would Stye say if he saw that". I play as if Stye was standing behind me looking at me and if I make a stupid mistake he would be like arghhhhh, hahahhaha, ik it sounds dumb but it works.

But whenever I solo que, it seems like most of the team just refuses to play their role. I’m always the guy asking to group up, asking for healing, etc.... I try to bridle it and not be annoying... but what do you do when game after game people just wont play their roles?! It’s so frustrating. I really find it amazing that you climbed that much in SR totally alone!! Good job man!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 so do you really just que a game? You don’t even do looking for groups??!! My mind is blown! I play majority of the time alone, and tend to get harassment for being a female when I try to play with others. So it would be great to actually be able to still comp and climb SR alone. Most my friends that play are pretty low SR, like 1600-2100, so comping with them doesn’t ever work out well. And then I feel like a jerk for not wanting to comp necessarily with them. Lol! So I made a new account for five SR.... except I placed plat mostly there.... :-/ So the issue repeated. When my SR is much higher then theirs, it drags them into higher SR matches and they just die. But anyways, my main concern is trying to sort out how to get comp to work for me solo. :-/

Jaqui Rox In lower SR games, your individual skill shines through more than in higher SR games. Learning to play a couple of heroes really well and not fill for the team will help you improve in the short run, which is what people need before they learn to fill. Say for example you do your best on Moira and you feel most impactful and like you are always improving. Just play Moira. Does your team need a defensive ult like Lucio? Play Moira anyway, because that brings out the most value from you individually. Sometimes the best way to get better teammates is by self improving until you can impact Low SR games to get to the promise land.

tprtiger THANK YOU! See I took that approach for a while. And it’s funny you said Moira, because I definitely kill it with her. But do you still stick to your go-to’s even when the team needs something else, because they refuse to switch to a better meta?? That’s the place I always end up. Trying to make up for others BS with my picks. It’s frustrating. I am already a really good flex. But my bests are probably... Orissa, Sym, Soldier, Moira, Lucio. If I had to identify absolute bests. Do you have and specific advice with that info given? Should I focus on 1 role for a long time? Because I just keep yoyoing my SR. Get a decent team and I climb and climb in SR, and always medal. Then I get shit teams, and SR dives. I play perfectly well in diamond games, on tank in heals. But my SR is around gold/play, from the yo-yo. I feel like I just don’t know what my aim needs to be to correctly climb. 1 character hyper focus? 1 role only?? Thanks for chatting btw. :)

You talked about staggering about halfway through the video. I had a game in comp on volskya where we totally failed to do this. We had just won a fight on second point, our Hammond used his mines maybe half way through so they were still there. Everyone but the mercy on the enemy team was dead, and she was chilling in the room to the left of the choke from defender’s side, with Hammond mines blocking the door. I saw a roadhog lumbering toward her and I yell to keep her alive because she can’t exscscscape. Hog just kills her anyway. If we kept her alive until the enemy team engaged us or until the mines were gone we could have easily bought extra time or won a fight super easily.

Something that wasnt addressed was his terrible movement, he did a lot of pointless WS strafing (if he was on keyboard and mouse), where he just walks forward and backwards, it does nothing for the actual goal of strafing against rhe enemy your shooting at. If you dont know what Im talking about just look at 16:20 and watch how he just walks forwards and backwards when shooting the D.VA and for half a second on the Reinhardt. Honestly, Stylosa should do some commenting on people's movement, if you strafe left and right properly and your are unpredictable and you crouch spam, you can make it insanely difficult for people, especially snipers, to shoot you. There was this one game I had where the 4 of the enemy team had quit and the dps person chose widow, and I legit stayed in front of the widow for 3 minutes straight while only getting hit once, and it wasnt even a headshot. This is NOT an exageration.

ps4 player here 😁 Most of the time if you are in a party chat the audio records for clips that you save but, in game chat I believe you need to have a device for it. Like an elgato or some type of recording software.

I think.... you can go into captures in the console. Like when u do a “record that last 30 seconds”, but select start recording instead. And when you’re done. Go back into it and select stop recording. I see that in my settings, but have not tried it myself yet. Let me know if it works for you! :)

Firelord Kushroll Hahaa! Umm I’m not sure how to give u proof. But for me, if I double click Xbox button, then click select button. That’s pulls up a quick access for recording options. There’s quite a few to record the last 15 secs - 5 mins options. Then there’s one option to just start recording now. That’s what I see, and it’s been this way for a few years at least.

I mean I guess symmetra takes skill in the same way that making a grilled cheese takes skill like sure you gotta know how to turn on the stove, butter the bread and open those individual Kraft cheese packets but in comparison to making something like a cheese souffle then the difference is obvious. So I guess what I'm saying is symmetra is a grilled cheese that a middle schooler makes after school and a character like Genji or tracer is a cheese souffle that Gordon Ramsay makes at one of his restaurants lol. ( also I wanna clarify that I don't mean to come off as malicious with these comments and I mean what I'm saying in a lighthearted way. I mean I play hanzo and I always joke around how he doesn't take any skill either.)

COLLIN R 2 Well I’m a flex... so I have a large arsenal of hero’s that I personally play, and maybe that’s why I’m a better then average Sym. I find that she’s more about having the intelligence for strategic and unexpected plays. Less so then just standing there shooting her primary fire beam. The Syms that just primary fire like a potato, aren’t the ones winning. I enjoy doing unexpected plays with a teleport bomb, and highly defensive turret placements, that are very challenging for anyone below about 2900 to counter. I find her to be more of a hero of witts, in that aspect. I’m also a life long gamer that has played forever on Battlefield and COD games, so I assure you aim isn’t a problem for me on other gun type characters. I do a lot of Lucio too, and leading projectiles takes a certain finesse as well. But I think jumping to the assumption that a beam primary fire hero = easy potato character.... is probably vastly underestimating their capabilities. But maybe that’s just because you haven’t ever played with a more coy Sym, like myself. It’s quite fun! I get DM’s all the time asking me if I’m cheating with keyboard and mouse, or aimbot type things (I’m on Xbox). And maybe that’s because I still maintain good headshot aiming with all my characters regardless of tool kit application, or maybe it’s because I move around so erratically people struggle to hit my hit-box. It’s pretty complimenting to get those messages after a game. And I think it means I do something a little bit better then average there.

Both those beams and 76’s gun are hitscan. Both are stopped by shields. Both require aim and don’t lock on. In fact 76 has the advantage because his damage doesn’t completely stop after 7 meters like Sym. The fact that this game has been out for 20 seasons and people still say/believe such dumb shit is why people don’t climb. All the good players climbed awhile ago and now it’s just dummy’s left to fight each other pretending they each know more than anyone.

You can either wait till blizzard introduces the replay share system or you can use the recording device on your console to record a match or replay then upload that recording to one drive or google Drive or something then download the video to your phone or computer then upload it to KZbin then email the video link to him.

Ok so I have a rant. I’m a low diamond rein main on Xbox. I play with two friends. One who plays Zarya and the other flex supports. I cannot seem to climb for the life of me and I know it sounds toxic and stuff but I swear 99% of our losses are bc of our other teammates. In the average game I’ll get between 20-30k damage blocked and damn near every game I’ll have gold damage, and usually other silvers and gold medals. My zarya friend will have silver damage and the golds I don’t have and when my support friend plays Moria he’ll have gold heals and bronze dmg. Now I know medals aren’t everything but I’m pretty sure we shouldn’t be out damaging two dps heroes. We don’t one trick these heroes either. We can flex to other tanks but these are our bests. Idk how to climb and I’d rly like advice. I think my biggest issue is being a little too aggressive with my charges. But it seems like it pays off more often than not so idk

Turtleman394 It seems like if you don’t have a consistent team to comp with, of 5-6 people... that’s just how it goes on Xbox. At least in my experience. I struggle to find anyone to play with that’s not way below me in SR. I can grind a bit by myself in plat, but then there’s just a bad streak where the team is just shit game after game. And you feel like they are potato’s with zero game sense, zero mechanical sense.... and they usually never want to work together, or stick together. That’s my problem! I just need to try to find people near my skill level, that are actually willing to play together, not play on the same game separately. But sadly, devs are planning to further encourage non team play even more with future updates. Saying they are going to buff encouraging more solo play.... that’s terrifying! Anyways, that’s my two cents. :-/

Why do you have gold and your Zarya silvers???? GM Zarya since season 1 here, you might want to have your Zarya friend improve his gameplay and contribute more. I’m sure you are good at rein, but he should be getting the golds.

Regarding the Overwatch scoring system: if you play Moira, please don't think you're good for having gold damage or elims.

Of course Gold Medals are subjective they're more of a guideline, really they should be remove because all they do is increase stress in players e.g. If I as Brig have gold healing and we have a Moira I'm of course going to question my Moira's ability when I don't have all the facts.

@@amadhatter3280 Its dumb to question someone's healing abilities as brig or Lucio (if its not a very stationary team comp of course) just because brig can heal basically everyone even of they are far away with her cooldowns and Lucio can heal everyone for 50hp per second with amp in his range. If you have gold as brig - it doesn't mean that someone else is throwing

@@amadhatter3280 Healing output means nothing. If your team is spread out - brig is a good pick, but moira is not. And you will outheal Moira not because this player is bad moira, but because moira is not the pick here.

This series is for players who are stuck in a rank and want to climb up. Most of the people who apply to this are low rank players aiming to be better. High rank players already know how to play well and so generally don't need to get coaching (unless it's from a professional league coach or something)
