The reason it's like this is because CW actually don't make the show WB does and then gives it to CW to broadcast and promote, They did the same thing with Stargirl. CW actually have not creative control of the show like they do with the other arrowverse shows. It's also why WB toke the show away from being on the same earth as the others.

I’ve been watching this since season 1 and I’ve absolutely loved each and every single episode. This season I’ve teared up with everything Lois is going through. I called out at the beginning of this episode saying Superman is dreaming, and it symbolizes his world caving in on itself. And I said Lois is his world and he may start to feel hopeless because in the second dream sequence I think he may not have saved her. I loved the watch scene, to me it’s like a watch tells time and they all want more time with her and have cherished all the time they’ve had. As well as a sign of then being there for her. I love this show it’s more than just a superhero show. It everything in one. This episode was fantastic. I gasped, cheered and yea cried.

I’ve enjoyed the show, but the latest episode really had me in tears. My wife has been diagnosed with cancer and seeing the part where Clark is speaking with the two women where they know what he is going through and what they are going through. It just made me dread what my wife and I are going to go through when it’s time for her to get a bone marrow and radiation therapy. Especially since my wife has always been the glue in the family.

This makes me wonder... I know Lois isn't sure how her maternal family history could have influenced her risk of breast cancer, but you also have to wonder about how Superman affected her health too... There are some obvious risks of being married to Superman like the secrets and the physical danger but what about like what just happened. In this episode we saw Superman being exposed to a lot of Kryptonite in order to weaken him by his enemies and he is able to escape with help but is there a way to "shower" of the K that was on him? Can he wash it out of his suit? Is it still on him and seeping/spreading into his environment especially his bedding that he spends hopefully at least 8 hours in, at night. What about his wife when he holds her close? They seem to love expressing physical intimacy towards each other. Imagine the wave of emotion, they, as a family might go through again when they say "Lois, you've constantly been exposed to radiation".

The quality of the show has nothing to do with the network, it’s all the writers, directors, and actors. The show doesn’t write episodes in any sort of formula. The other shows are doomed to drop in quality after a few years because they are formula dependent. It is just that simple.

When I first heard about this show, I was worried. I didn't want to start it even though I was interested. A friend of my mine warned me that Superman was a father and had two kids. Of course he was married to Lois. Two kids? Now that I'm all caught up, I'm so happy that I started watching it. I even got HBO just to watch the series from the beginning. I thought I'd never watch another CW show again. But here I am. I do love the family scenes the most. The Clark and Lois scenes where they are concerned parents protecting the boys are my favorite. I think Sam is an interesting character. John and Natalie are like extended family. It's also fun to see what happened to Lana and to see her family. I think the show gives the audience a lot to think about and we can all have our favorite topics. I didn't realize that Clark being a parent was what I needed in my life. LOL. I really didn't know. The show is so much fun to watch. The writing, directing, and editing are incredible. I remember Elizabeth from Grimm, I knew she would do well. I'm seriously impressed with Tyler. It's not something I saw in his future when I first watched Road to Perdition (although there is a scene in that movie where he lives on a farm), 7th Heaven or Teen Wolf, but here I am Loving his Superman.

Overall really strong. But I wish Clark was more active with his Kryptonian tech and science. He just said his mom says there is nothing she can do. I've been really enjoying how this show is weaving real life into this world of people with super powers. It's making characters, old & new, more dynamic than a lot of other superhero shows or movies. The issues of miscarriages, cheating, divorce, and now cancer have been handled with more maturity and respect than dramas which put those issues at its center. Also, I think the problem of too many characters is connecting them to the main issues and showing that no character is being thrown away which is why I am looking forward to the development of Chrissy and Kyle. Chrissy knowing Clark is Superman, Kyle working out his life after the divorce and their burgeoning romance shows that everyone has a place on this show thus avoiding the feel of having too many characters.

It's so frustrating how the show has deteriorated over the years. I didn't even care about the show when it started. Even while there were fans who kept saying that the show is so much better than the Arrowverse shows I did watch which were Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. Even while The Flash crossed over with Supergirl and having no idea who Captain Cold, Heatwave or Firestorm were. But then the Flashpoint storyline started affecting Arrow with Diggle's daughter getting replaced with a son and getting confused. Then I heard how huge the Flashpoint storyline was for the DC comics universe. So I finally checked it out and the season was decent. The following season was not as good, but had some great elements like Ralph and the Bus metas. Season 5 was a brain breaker with how easy they could've taken down the main villain over 20+ episodes and how much of a woman-baby Nora was. But the crossover was great! Season 6a had a great graphic novel with Bloodwork but Season 6b's plot wasted its' mirrorverse concepts. Otherwise, I enjoyed the episodes with Diggle and Gorilla Grodd. Season 7 was... Season 7. Season 8 was somewhat better and I loved Chester and Deathstorm! And now that Season 9 is the final season of the Arrowverse, I HAVE to watch it and honestly, it's worse than Season 7 so far. Aside from the first episode and the episode where Barry teams up with the rogues, they wasted their shortest season ever on bad episodes. They could've made time to at least give the Legends and Mia rescuing William a proper conclusion in at least a two part crossover, but we get all that, instead. Nia, Oliver, Diggle and the other characters' reappearances better be worth it. And yes, I actually like Nia.

Like Stargirl, Titans and Doom Patrol, Superman and Lois has always been one cut above the rest of the Arrowverse, Superman and Lois not dishes up heart-stopping cineramic sequences , superb writing and characters to really care about - season 2 with the Bizarro World was quite a masterwork. I hope season three will hit soon hit ist stride. Good as the old Jonathan actor was, the new Jonathan actor is actually an even better fit, as he really looks not only like a plausible Jordan sibling, but also resembles Superman and Lois. The only thing that is a jarring misstep is giving Lois an aggressive stage 3 cancer - I mean who are they kidding! What a phony move! We all know she has plot armor stronger than the Man of Steel's invulnerable skin. No way Lois of Superman and Lois gets killed off! Whatever for? Tulloch (right up there with all time greats Margot Kidder and Erica Durance), a superb actor, is engaging and charismatic enough and needs no additional sympathy points by getting a terminal disease. What an asinine distraction and a waste of episode time better ussed for more interesting developments! At some point, they will have to introduce a ridiculous McGuffin to cure Lois‘ cancer! This is Superman and Lois, not This is Us!!!!

If you give actors good material, they can give good performances. Other CW shows are plagued with bad writing, which even good actors would have trouble selling. This show has always focused on the family drama while the superhero elements are almost secondary. While other shows have done cancer storylines, its use here allows the writers to delve deeper into characters who generally aren’t shown to have a lot of depth. Superman is often portrayed as a Boy Scout while Lois is the damsel in distress. But here, we get to explore a Godlike being handles being completely powerless to save his loved ones and how a woman who’s used to being saved by Superman can no longer turn to him for help. This makes these characters far more relatable.

When this show focuses on Superman, Lois and John Henry it is the best superhero show out there right now. Just is so completely higher in quality to other CW shows I cannot believe it is on the CW (kind of like poor Stargirl). But the teen melodrama has always been the weak part and the Lana family stuff, while well acted, is so disconnected to Superman it is almost like it should be its own show. I really thought they would fix this this season but I think they know they are being cancelled (unless picked up by HBO MAX) so they decided not to course correct and just go out as they went in.

I started watching The Flash when it premiered, because I was waiting on supernatural. I liked it and that introduced me into the Arrow verse. I began to try out all the other shows. I even hit Constantine and Supergirl from before she joined them. I actually liked some of the shows. I really got into Legends for a while. But slowly they all unraveled. I distinctly remember the episode in Legends when the girl got turned into a fork, her dialogue involving the racist dude was do baaaaaad. That was the first show in the Arrow verse I dropped. I eventually dipped out of The Flash finally giving up on the franchise. I've never seen SaL, I remember when he was in Supergirl a few times but by then I was already disliking the Arrow verse so I paid it no mind. Is it, then I ask, a worthwhile endeavor to dive into this show ? Is it not part of the aforementioned Arrow verse? Why did the Goblin turn on the stove???????

Having a lot of characters is only a problem when they ignore main characters and main supporting characters to a lesser extent for multiple episodes (like 4 or 5 episodes straight) which is something this show has successfully avoided.

That’s what all those other CW DC shows did and that’s when it really went downhill

A better question would be "HOW is Superman and Lois in the same universe as Supergirl, Flash and other shows?" ... lol It's way better written. Definitely a whole different level.

Well yeah where do you think the budget went after Arrow, Lot, Stargirl, Black Lightning, Super girl, Flash, ended?? It's not "out of no where" it came from somewhere 🙄 From every other show no longer present

My guess it's because HBO Max is a company behind it.

My understanding is that has some sort of affiliation with HBO Max, that could explain the way better VFX, and could be they just have writers that give a shit.

I’m shocked at the fact I’m enjoying a CW show. I’m waiting for one of Superman’s sons to come out as trans or for Lois and Lana to get it on. But so far they’ve subverted my expectations.
