Boy oh boy do I remember these when they were new! I was a 10 year old car nut. My parents told me that when I was 5 I could identify every car on the road by year, make and model. It was a lot easier in those days as cars (what few there are) don’t change from year to year. I really miss those days.

Back when I bought my 67 impala, they did have an available super sport, but I’m thinking this car might’ve been released later in the year and there wasn’t that many of them made anyway, I was a little surprised too, that it didn’t even have the word impala on it just strictly the SS and the 427 numbers

In 1976 I had a 67 SS 427 4 speed in Marina Blue with Black Interior with Bucket Seats ... It came with the original window sticker as well. Car was in good condition then, no dents or interior tears. Former owner put headers on it with Flow Masters & a Holley 750 ... car had 75,000 miles on it and used a quart of oil every 200 miles with much white smoke on start up. I paid $700 for it and 2 years later sold it for $750. I added 4 Cragers, Deep Dish in the rear (G60's) and Burnt them up in no time. Original Power Steering & Power Drum Brakes. I STILL LOVE that GIANT Fastback design !

Another great video, and great car Lou! Brings back the memories. One of the cars I had back in the day was a '68 Parisienne 427 (Pontiac built in Canada, engine from Tonawanda) I bought well used, in 1984, for $400.00. and with the installation of a good used carburetor, starter and a tune up, it was a real performer! Wish I'd kept it, I found it easy to work on, comfortable to drive. I got it cheap because back then, no one appreciated them.

I was 17yrs old in 1971 living in San Jose, Ca my first car was a 4 yr old 67 SS 427, Cost $2,200. Marina Blue/ Blk interior, To this day I have never seen another one with all the options this one had, power windows, power seats, tilt wheel, air conditioning, funky rear window defogger, gauges, console. I remember I ran the gas tank till it was nearly empty and when I filled it up with Arco Supreme at the time it took 24.5 gallons with a 26 gallon tank $9.60 to fill it at 39 cents a gallon, now at 69 I dearly miss those days, the gas even had a good smell, and the pump would "ding" every time a gallon was pumped, doesn't seem like 52yrs ago, went by fast.⛽

67 fastback is one of my favorite cars, as I've had several 67 Impala fastbacks, including 3 SS's. Love the color on that SS 427, and the Strato-bench is great. One of mine has the Strato-bench. I prefer it to the buckets due to the reasons given in the video, plus having the fold-down center armrest makes for a comfortable place to rest my arm 🙂. There's no place to rest your right arm with buckets. The Strato-bench still looks sporty, since it has bucket seat backs. Some people think Super Sports only came with buckets and a console, but the Strato-bench was an option on Super Sports and Caprice. The option is listed in the 67 Chevrolet dealer brochure.

Great work Lou. There’s an add by Chevrolet aired on Bewitched television series. A very similar automobile is featured with an owner who had a special glass garage blown for display of his 67 Impala. Even the same color. The show oft featured Chevrolet products with Elizabeth Montgomery. Those old Chevrolet models are beautiful metal sculptures. The Sheldrake Seven custom would be a cooler find with its bubble canopy.

In the early 1970's, out here in Central California, while taking in one of our Fords to the Ford dealership for service, I took a walk through the used car lot. On the lot was a white 1967 Chevy full-size SS coupe like this one and it was either an SS396 or an SS427, I don't remember which, but it was probably an SS396. It had the expected factory bucket seats with a center console and a 4-speed manual transmission. I remember sitting in the car. It was a real thrill.

Love the BIG Chevys!!! The big plus, for me, a New Mexico resident, is that the car survived the NM Sun - a literal survivor! The owners are cool, too!

I had a 67 impala one of my all-time favorite cars and one of the best cars I ever owned. I went to the dealership with the understanding I had to get an automatic car so my new wife could drive it I had a four-speed 66 Chevelle I traded in on it. I hated getting rid of that car but we needed the automatic and if they would’ve had this on the car lot I would’ve had it cause I was always disappointed and all the horsepower I lost besides losing the four-speed and I was only 18 years old at the time and did not even know this car existed. I knew they had super sports but never seen the SS 427 impala till later.

Car is breathtaking, my favorite Impala whether it says Impala or not. In October 66 I toured the new Lordstown Ohio Fisher body plant. A 9 yr old boy got a ride around the parking lot in a new 67 Chevelle. Not sure if the produce these @ that plant, I imagine they did. Car is so swoopy & stunning. I'm running out of superlatives. I try to compliment every car on you're channel but this is my new favorite!!!

I thought for sure it was frame up restored as I’m sure you did as well Lou. I was 5 almost 6 when our Neighbors DAUGHTER ROSE MARIE came home with her 1967 Purple Impala Fast back. She was so excited she took my mom and sisters to the store and I remember being so upset not going in the new car. Later that Day the girls dad took her keys away for driving with my mom and sisters in the car. Because not insured for others as she was 18. After that the family decided we were the enemy in the house right to their right. We had 5 kids they had 5 kids 4 girls 1 boy like us. In a tiny 2 bedroom home. We had 4 bedrooms and the neighborhood thought we had money for such a big house. I still see the youngest daughter and the only one who will speak to me. My age as we remained secret friend under the hedges. That separated our homes. But what a FIND WOW!

The childish envy of which you describe isn't the type of behavior of which anyone could imagine might even have taken place, back then. Those were still prosperous times. If anyone couldn't be resourcefull enough to afford a house large enough to accomodate 4 children, that neighbor must have been above average dumb
