Points I found note-worthy: 1. When Matic played in the earlier match, Fred was allowed to go advanced where he was way more effective. Fred showed his flair but wasn't that effective as he wasn't that advanced or adventurous. Matic's presence could have provided him the assurance to venture further ahead. 2. If you are playing against Atletico and not expecting the 'Dark Arts' of football, the blame is on you. Time-wasting and rough play is their big-stage Modus operandi. 3. Maguire again has proved to be an expensive liability, where Varane showcased how a good CB should work. 4. Manchester United played well, especially the first twenty minutes, but Atletico were gifted for their defensive determination. 5. Jan Oblak is World-Class!

They should really take the long-term route and start rebuilding again from the top. In my opinion, yesterday the game completely changed when Rashford was brought on for Elanga. It was an absolute blunder of a decision from Rangnick. When Elanga played on the right he used to dribble and use his pace well. Elanga can play on both wings. Meanwhile Rashford is a one dimensional direct player who can't move the ball anywhere from the right side. The only case where Rashford is to be subbed in would be if the game went to ET and Sancho was feeling tired then it would have been logical to swap Sancho for Rashford at LW

But when Rashford came in he was moving the ball at walking pace and he also doesn't know how to dribble from the right. It made Atleti's job much much easier. 2 Major Problems in this United team: 1. United have Maguire as a CB who can't run behind his back, can't play high line cause he's slow and takes time to turn, not to mention he gets bully Everytime in 1vs1. 2. United plays with Mctominay as a CDM which he's not, He's a number 8 and CM/CAM at average and he always plays out of his position and leaves a lot of space. (RB and LB aren't good enough either, struggling mostly)

Man UTD were pressing aggressively but with 5 defenders at the back are holding up so tight that they couldn't find any chance to score... Massive respect to Oblak for his performance... But there were often some fouls for Man UTD that referee didn't gave... So I would say UTD were pressing aggressively which was good but not concentrating on defence where Atleti was taking advantage for counter attacks...
