@staceyann1180 4 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh, so frustrating. But at the same time, I'm sure that neighbor feels absolutely awful after she heard the outcome. And at least she spoke up at that point! Imagine having a bad day, got in a squabble with your partner, your boss had been an asshole, or you had a migraine or whatever. You look outside and see a girl arguing and think she's probably just squabbling with her boyfriend. Think nothing else of it and go to bed. Then the next day her parents ask if you've seen anything and you slowly realize that yeah.... You did actually... Only to find out later she was kidnapped by murdering, torturous, rapists. I'd never be able to forgive myself for that. So yeah, I'm pissed IF she never made a call to anyone. But also feel for her. I know when I have a bad day, I'm quick to block everything else out. I'm gonna try really hard not to do that anymore.
@BertErniesson
@BertErniesson 4 жыл бұрын
@@staceyann1180 You're probably right about that. She might have contemplated calling 911 but made a huge mistake and found it to be exaggerated. Still, the way they described it I feel like 99% would have found it not to be exaggerated, but to be necessary to call the cops immediately. I mean... they grab a screaming woman and speed off, what is that if not what it seems to be?!

There's a theory that the abundance of lead paint in the 40s and 50s had something to do with that.
@kingayy9267
@kingayy9267 3 жыл бұрын
@Pushy Phoenix That's interesting! I figured it was so high because, given all the forensic technology police have today, would-be serial killers are caught before they can kill more than one or two people. And that the reason there didn't seem to be many SKs before then was due to the inverse: the _lack_ of technology capable of linking different crimes together, pointing to a single murderer. But your theory is more interesting!
@PushyPushyPhoenix
@PushyPushyPhoenix 3 жыл бұрын
@@kingayy9267 That's also a great theory, and no reason why they can't coexist. What's more, it could very well be that a proliferation of serial killers helped drive the improvements in investigative techniques etc. that now catch people in the earlier stages. In which case, lead paint wins either way! 😜 It's not my theory though; I'm sure I read it somewhere. Now even more curious, I'm going to do some digging and try to find a source. ♥️🍍
@PushyPushyPhoenix
@PushyPushyPhoenix 3 жыл бұрын
@@kingayy9267 Welp, that was pretty simple, I just hadn't bothered for my first post.... 'cause I'm lazy. It's called the Lead-Crime Hypothesis, and searching Google for "serial killers lead poisoning" brings up a large number of resources that look relatively credible. Related searches include "lead-crime hypothesis debunked", which brings up many of the same resources, so presumably they come at it from both sides. Unfortunately I don't know what to search to pursue your theory, and if I start trying (and reading these results) I won't do anything else all night, so hopefully that helps anyone who sees this and wants to do further research. ♥️🍍

One day she called up the police and my mom (it was common to swap phone numbers among neighbors, back then at least) to tell them that she had seen a suspicious-looking moving company enter the house of a neighbor who was directly adjacent to our house, even though the neighbor's house was empty. Turns out they were burglars running a fake moving company, and fortunately they were arrested and the stolen stuff was returned. Not to mention she came in my cell and permed my hair - you know, with that bullshit perm you can see in shots of me? And she did that, as the cops told her that they wanted to see me with curls, as the witnesses had seen a man with curly hair trying to abduct a girl around the time of the Hollywood Strangler. The case of "The Hillside Strangler" is one of those cases that anyone interested in true crime has heard of and is aware how chilling that time was for women . The 9 year old boy that comes up on a 12yr. and a 14yr. girls dead bodies .....is that even possible to get over ? I remember when I was 6yr. and found a dead kitten hanging by a long rope hanging from a tree ; that happened more than 4 decades ago and I it still has a deep effect on me. I am at a loss for words over the victims death ( all of them ) ; no one deserves anything like that to happen to them . My thoughts still can't help but wonder just how that little 9yr. boy is doing . Did he get any psychological help ? I can't imagine he would just walk up on a scene like that looking through trash and be fine about it . If he is still alive ( that was awhile back ) I hope he is living his best life . Much appreciation to you Mike for making your videos here with a touch of humor that is needed added with respect to the victims ....that is a rare quality .

I don't know why but it always tickles me when somebody who's obviously lying talks slowly and uses more extensive vocabulary. That's one of the big telltale signs that someone's reciting something they've memorized and they're using the big words to give themselves more time to think & kind of listen to what they're saying to make sure that it matches the narrative they want to create.

@Don't Tickle Me Using "big words" (your description) isn't an indication of lying. (In fact, there is *no* universal indicator of lying.) I've been accused of fabrication when using "big words" and it's ridiculous. Just because you speak only in one-syllable, everyday language doesn't mean some of us don't have extended vocabularies, and use them, too, in everyday speech. I don't know where that silly notion started, but it's utterly ridiculous that using "big words" is some sort of Litmus test for lying.

@gizmo420420 And yet somehow there are some women who obssess over these fuckers. How does that happen? And how does it happen so often? Almost every serial killer seems to have some groupie or groupies. I'll never get that. I was a young teen when this happened. I lived close to where they hunted. I remember writing about my fears, of them, in my diary. I was absolutely terrified when the night stalker was on a rampage. I lived in Albuquerque when Girly Chew disappeared. I enjoy your sense of humor.

Geeze. I hate that girls to live through so much fear. I have a young teen girl and I wish I could take it on for her so she wouldn’t have to. I heard someone smarter than I am say: “men fear rejection. Women fear pain and death.” I find this to be so disturbingly accurate that it makes me very sad.

22:54 Good Ol Shamrock Motel, where you can book a room for an hour or for years. It's the last of the traps in Bellingham. Right on the edge of city limits, where law enforcement jurisdiction gets ambiguous... so it is in the grey area of lawlessness. You can get a crack rock, a hooker and attend a 12-step meeting, back to back. On in one stop a person can destroy their life and begin rebuilding it...all from the comfort of your bed.

I lived in San Fernando valley when all this was going on. I had a man follow me home late one night, parked his car and watched me run to my door. I remember telling my friends he had dark hair, and a mustache and wore glasses. I also told them the car was a light colored Cadillac, i couldn't make out the exact color. Not long long after that they were caught, and im sure i heard on the news one of them drove a light green Cadillac. I was wondering during your research if you came across information on one of them owning a light green Cadillac. Ive been haunted by this for years.
