I think you underestimate Byleth's buffs quite a bit imo. I think he had the biggest buffs this patch honestly. Tipper side b is safer on shield now, which is pretty nice. Aerial side b has significantly less end lag, making the move actually usable in the air. Making it more useful for edge guarding. Up b went from being a frame 11 move to a frame 9 move, making it a good out of shield option, which Byleth lacked before. The other buffs such as up B's increased meteor effect, down smash being more powerful and dair being more powerful and doing more shield damage aren't that needed. But a buff is a buff. And when you combine all that, the character has been buffed quite a bit. Granted, he's probably not moving up the tier list much if at all. But the character will definitely feel noticeably better than before.

The buff with Falcon upb is less about tech check and more about being able to continue using advantage after hitting it instead of resetting neutral. Helps him a lot and fitting his archetype of a rush down

The Falcon Up-B change isn't just about the tech checks... He's now able to follow up on the disadvantage state he puts you in from using up-B on stage, and that's definitely not to be underestimated.

Overall, this pathch was pretty good. Lots of top tiers got nerfed (even if it's only a small nerf), 1 character got destroyed by the nerfs (Wario), we got a few good buffs (Pichu, Byleth, and Wii Fit Trainer), and we finally got our big "personality" anime swordswomen. Pichu is back to being viable, Byleth is now more viable, and Wii Fit Trainer can no longer be called a mid tier character anymore (I've always thought they were high tier ever since Byleth was released). I wish that we could've seen some buffs for Mewtwo, Marth, Meta Knight, and Lucario while also getting some nerfs to Pikachu and Sonic. Despite that, I still think this is one of the better patches for Ultimate.

They should have changed the keyframes on Wario's uptilt to better match the new hitbox timing. Have him pull his hands down sooner but take a bit longer to do so, keeping the total frames the same but aligning better with hitbox activity.

Unless they nerf them all, I say keep buffing everyone instead of nerfing people. Keep buffing mid and low tiers until nobody can agree on the tier lists anymore. NO! This isn't just a secret plan to get my fiery kitty buffed several more times. Trust me >:)

I don't get why a lot of buffs and nerfs where there is no impact at all. Dedede still sucks and gordos can still get deflected as soon as you throw one. They should make him more mobile, give him better hitboxea because most of the time he can't hit some characters no matter how close they are(up tilt for example) his swings sometimes don't make sense and for some reason he struggles to kill while chad swordsman can take him out with a stale nair or smash atacck.

@@bob-wy4xp Mythra is A LOT faster than Lucina. Not even close. Lucina's walk/run speed is 1.5/1.9, her initial dash is 2.2 and her air speed is 1.0. Her fall speed and fast fall speed are 1.6 and 2.5. Mythra's same stats are 1.4/2.4/2.4/1.2/1.9/3.0. Side by side it looks like this: 1.5/1.9/2.2/1.0/1.6/2.5 1.4/2.4/2.4/1.2/1.9/3.0 Basically, Mythra runs a lot faster, falls a lot faster, and has slightly better air speed. In terms of frame data, they have similar startup on a lot of their moves, but Mythra has way less end lag.
