I noticed on a lot of Model 3 videos, the 0-60 is downplayed a bit by the idea that it's becoming normal for EVs to be quick. But that really just isn't true. Dodge making their hellcat switch to EV and actually losing slight speed was a good example that it's not a guarantee. The Ioniq 5 N you mentioned is still a full 0.4 seconds slower than the new model 3, which is absolutely massive in actual gap difference, and is 13k more in price. Of course other differences come into play with a larger car...but the end idea is very simple. Tesla stands out clearly. The model s plaid is the single quickest regular sedan. The model 3 is the single quickest car that the middle class can afford. And both dominate it. It shouldn't be downplayed.

Prices mentioned are wrong £40K - Rear-Wheel Drive, £50K - All-Wheel Drive + £60K for the Performance. For the indicator stalk/ drive selector stalks or lack thereof should I say, I've had my 2024 Model 3 for over a month, I got used to it within about a day of driving it. A lot of reviews seem to make a bigger deal out of it than I think is necessary. Just book a test drive before you order it if you're not sure.
@rustygates33677 ай бұрын
It's not that one can't get USED to it, but rather it's a good step backwards in design. These capacitive haptic buttons jammed together on the same side on a moving wheel (and on the wrong side in AU), is not anywhere near as intuitive and correct as a stalk from an objective Human-Vehicle Interface design perspective. Saying you can get used to it is fine, but anyone saying it's a design improvement is perpetually high & dumb.

You adjust regen with your foot. If you release the speeder fast, you get full regen and if you release it slowly you get mild regen. It’s very precise and you don’t have to change focus from the road or let go of the steering wheel, so it’s much safer. Quite clever and by far a better solution than paddles behind the steering wheel and other nonsense solutions to mimic an old combustion super car.

In the USA there are 12.5million trucks sold per year - almost all ICE vehicles. That is a massive market for the Cybertruck to take on and move people over to EV’s. They may not like it but it is a specific market for Tesla to take on. The cybertaxi is being launched on 8th August and that will be revolutionary- and also linked to the Model 2. I enjoyed the review and chat. Well done! I absolutely hate the on-screen shifting, which is a pain for multi-point turns or if you don't have a long reach. Some drivers may not even have an arm on that side. What I think would be good is to have voice command gear-changes, e.g., "Gear DRIVE" or "Gear Reverse". This needs to be done in a way that it's not easily confused with other commands and should obviously be disabled above a certain speed, say, 5 mph. This way, changes are fluid but can't be done at highway speeds accidentally. I'm not sure why Tesla hasn't already done this, but this idea seems like low-hanging fruit.

Fun episode! Test of M3 performance, and its capability to take corners?😳 And we see a couple guys driving straight ahead...😂😂😂

I have a 2021 Long Range Model 3 and honestly, in standard mode, it can take my head off. I am not sure I need a Performance version! I also think mine goes round corners fine, and also the ride comfort feels quite good to me.

Seems like Tesla are refining the right things in their cars but still need to scale up the after-sales network. Insurance prices in the UK are eye watering. I got several quotes for my Model Y LR which were way more than a Porsche Taycan 4S of nearly twice the price. In the end I went with a quote which was only 2.5x more than the Model 3 LR it replaced.

If you want to adjust regen % you have to do this in track mode.
