I’ve wanted to do this on my resturant but didn’t want to do the traditional tables side . This is stellar from the kitchen as long as it gets to the table QUICKLY ! Looks great thank you sir

Thanks for commenting. This is a fun dessert to make and tastes great too! The logistics of doing this in a busy restaurant would be difficult though. It's more about the dining experience than the dessert itself.

Please, can we replace the rum with a non-alcoholic addition?
@CreativeCookingVideos22 күн бұрын
Sorry for the late response, I have been in and out of hospital but recovering. New videos coming out soon. You could probably find a rum flavoring, but the alcohol does evaporate & burn off completely.

This a great desert when you want to impress someone - make it tableside with a portable burner like they do in the fine restaurants that serve it!

Looks delicious. Would it be ok to give to children? Like does the alcohol burn out completely?

I made this on a gas stove. The rum would not fire. I found that I needed the butter sugar mixture to be at a certain temp before the rum would ignite. When the mixture was reheated the rum would then fire. I guess I had lost too much heat between the time of turning off the gas and igniting the rum. Overall this is a delicious treat!
@CreativeCookingVideos8 ай бұрын
The trick to doing this on a gas stove is to remove the pan from the flame to add the rum (so no chance of flare up), return to heat, then tip the pan enough to allow what little spills over to ignite. You can also use the stick lighter. I'm glad it worked out for you!

Totally worth the occasional splurge. Ridiculously good. I had some at a restaurant. The waiter was extremely excited because he’d been practicing at home. Did not disappoint.

Will have to try this, i love fried bananas
@CreativeCookingVideos10 ай бұрын
My sister used to do that - fried in butter with nothing else. I used to use old bananas and blend them with milk and honey as a shake. My wife loves the Nilla Banana Pudding (I made a video for that a few years ago). I guess we're all bananas about bananas! Thank for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. Blessings... Dave

You're missing orange in any one of the 4 following ways. Zest, peel, a touch of fresh squeezed juice, or Gran Marnier mixed with the rum. Otherwise, very nicely done video. Tough to control temp on electric stove tops, so kudos!

That's a good recommendation. I will definitely try it next time around. Thanks for the comment and have a great day!

@CreativeCookingVideos11 ай бұрын
The vanilla extract is optional, especially if using a good rum. Isn't it amazing how this dessert has endured the test of time? Have you ever tried Grape-nut Pudding? Check it out on the channel, it's another one of my favorites. Thanks for commenting!
@camerontroilo4792 ай бұрын
My question to you is if you’ve been making it for 40 years are you in the comments critiquing someone who’s making it on KZbin to show other people how to make this dessert why don’t you go and post your video on how to make yours?
@sheriwright54112 ай бұрын
@camerontroilo479 I don't do videos. But if you Google Brennan's recipe( where the original was made). You will see the recipe, the one where it originated.

Hmmm, ice cream first dude, then bananas on top! You are mixed up
@CreativeCookingVideos11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. You can do it either way actually. I present it this way because I'm using glass that you can see through and I like the ice cream melting over the bananas and the addition of grated chocolate makes for a nice presentation. At the end of the day it all ends up in the same place and it tastes great whether we flip it upside down or not. Do you agree?
@edlondon371711 ай бұрын
@@CreativeCookingVideos Most glass is see through and that's beside the point as the bananas/sauce is a "topping" over the ice cream....people want to taste the bananas first my friend, not vanilla ice cream first. The fact it all ends up in the same place is somewhat "gross" to say anyway.
