I love how chippy it's been. The teams look pretty balanced relative to each other too. Makes for great, close games and bad blood. Checks all the boxes I need to enjoy it.

6 team is the best thing they did. Keep it low teams gives a better overall product with womans hockey still develloping. Now i just hope that the fan base are not just bandwagoners and it will have a continious support for growth of the league.

And for me the obly thing im not a fan is that jailbreak rule but rather see stuff like it in this league and make it a bit unique in there own way. Just wouldnt be one for it to be something in all of hockey.

@@joeldespres I'm not a fan of icing being such a big part of SH play. The jailbreak rule gives some incentive to keep after the puck once it's out of the zone instead of just pealing back to the defensive end. SH goals are decently rare in the NHL, but we've already seen a few in PWHL. I wouldn't mind seeing the NHL try it out in the All-Star games like they did with 3 on 3.

I played hockey as a kid, and being the only girl in a league of boys was not something I would wish on any girl child. But the fact that those of us who skated before are now seeing a true league of our own... man, if I even get a chance to see a game, live, of the PWHL, I'll die happy.

Watching Marie Philip poulin in the Olympics was what got me into hockey. Then I started following the bruins and then the avs. So shoutout to Olympic women’s hockey for getting me into the best sport there is.

I played against Amanda Pelkey (boston) growing up. She ran the score up on our team so bad in a pewee game (10-1 maybe?) that after some of the larger boys on the barre team started head hunting our players, our coach pulled us to the bench for the remainder of the third. Essentially forfeiting the game. We got em back a year or two later in bantams, but I could never manage to knock her off the puck. I was great at pinching players off coming into our D-zone on the boards or bumping them as they tried to cut towards the the slot. She'd make for the corner and stop on a dime like quinn hughes does, spin around and take off towards the net. Probably one of the best hockey players to come out of vermont (grew up here) since LeClair?

I like the fact that this league is allowing the physical component of the game of hockey. Really cool that it is starting out as an original 6 league. They need to grow slowly so it doesn't become watered down and keeps the skill level as high as possible. Everyone needs to stop making the comparison between the men and women. We all know it's not going to be as quick and skilled however they are gritty and determined. I didn't expect it to be as good as it is and find myself taking more interest in it than I thought I would. Good luck to the league and the women involved.

Your so right! I live in the UK where women's football has become huge in the last 6 or 7 yrs despite so many hater's who continue to compare it vs the men's game. Basically the same rules but different game, the crowds here are large as they are in a few other European countries. Personally i already love what i've seen of the women's hockey & it so far seems to have been introduced & run by ppl with their heads screwed on & i hope for it's continued success. Its great to see excited crowds of both sexes who can afford to see a game either with friends or as family units. bye sorry to go on but as a father of 2 daughters i'm hopeful. good luck.
