@@jairiske Maybe have Snokes “choice” be an empty promise. Snoke brings Kylo to the dark and then Snoke pries information about the Jedi Temple and Order out of Kylo and eventually destroys the Order himself. Then Kylo is mad since he didn’t actually want the Jedi Order to be destroyed as he still cared about them to a degree. This leads to him becoming more dark and powerful and this was Snokes plan.

I always thought it would have been better if he had fallen because of entitlement. He was taught from birth that being a Skywalker made him the main character of the universe and that everyone will make concessions for him because of what he is. He's so fascinated by Darth Vader because Vader is proof that a Skywalker can do whatever he wants and still be forgiven in the end. The mask and the name change could have been something forced on him by Snoke as part of the traditional Sith training method of taking away whatever the apprentice cares about most (in this case, his family name and a face that people recognize and defer to.) That would make him a living critique of Rey, who also defines herself entirely by what she is rather than what she does.

I feel like you still get that anyone can right their wrongs story with Finn, considering he's been a storm trooper since he was stolen as a child. He's for sure committed attrocities across the galaxy while being under the First Order. So the force could be a path to redemption for him. And in a film like star wars, shouldn't the ability to use the force not make or break a character? Half the people in the series are force sensitive, but that's usually not what fans like about the character. Most people I talk to thought that Rey was super boring and uninteresting, despite her being a force user, only finding interest in her backstory and origin. Finn has a great backstory, with moderate charisma when he's not just screaming "REY" at the top of his lungs lol. I think him being force sensitive can only enhance his character based on his past. Also I'm not like, saying you're wrong or that your opinion is unfounded, I'm just sharing my thoughts 🎷

@stockart whiteman While I agree with you, the scene with Finn on Takodana was so ruefully EPIC. it showed us what could've been. Finn being a jedi, or maybe Finn being a warrior with a lightsaber (my favorite lightsaber), withOUT the force, would both be cool, and obviously better. Finn being the second black jedi wouldve been a major point, and a stepping stone for more mature (as in, more developed, empathy wise). Rey could've been another jedi, or more of a wondering jedi, not by any code, while Finn is a true jedi or a warrior without the force

I think anyone that can admit this Trilogy is flawed (unlike those simping for this Trilogy, and calling anyone who disagreed a racist/misogynist/whatever) flawed but had potentially recognizes that Finn A) was the character with the most wasted potential, and by extension the most disappointing and B) should have had an arc involving the Force and at least been put on the path to becoming a Jedi. Now this video has him opposing Rey, which is fine....but I think it would have worked with Rey not going fully to the Dark side, but just being more tempted by Kylo and Finn taking a more traditional light side path, which inspires Rey to come back and they team up or something

Would’ve loved to see Finn as a turned storm trooper who was still very deadly and tactical minded, but slowly sheds those attributes through the the trilogy. Like yes, he turns after not obeying orders in TFA, but he still keeps his hardened exterior until he learns to relax and have a good time with his friends. You could’ve had a lot of content with Finn if they kept his character grounded in that reality. How he doesn’t quite mesh with the civilian world but he’s trying to cope with not being in a strict regime anymore. He slowly relaxes and makes jokes, but still retains his ability to snap into action like he was trained. He would not be a bumbling idiot. Just simple things like that could’ve given him depth and uniqueness

That's exactly what I thought we would have as soon as I saw him take off his helmet in the trailer. Instead, they wrote him like he never received any combat training at all. I think he drops his firearm three times in _The Force Awakens_, and each time he needs it a few moments later. I'm not a soldier, I won't pretend to know what it's like to be one. However, I do know that boot camp has a lot of drills on weapon maintenance, probably to instill in the recruit a sense of care around the weapon. To use a Star Wars quote: This weapon is your life.

A perfect character to reflect the ww2 theming of Star Wars, covering the effect warfare has on people who participate in the regimes, or even more specifically how the Wehrmacht soldiers had to deal with knowing their entire worldview crumbled in front of them, and their horrific acts made obvious. The way Finn constantly goes "ok, I'm cool with this" is honestly very endearing

What I love about this: -Finn and Rey taking divergent paths. Rey is the naturally gifted one who feels she doesn't need training so she's unfocused while Finn doesn't have her knack for it but is far more disciplined so he becomes a Jedi first. -On top of that, they sort of diverge on the paths of the Jedi, almost becoming the old video game split between Jedi Consular and Jedi Guardian. Rey the one with more raw power in the Force but not as impressive fighting techniques while Finn becoming the more physical, lightsaber duelist but with a weaker connection to the Force. At least at first for both of them. -Finn being more reluctant to kill and having more visible sympathy for the Stormtroopers. Really makes him stand out as a character and makes him an even better candidate to be a Jedi. -That Force Plague thing is a BRILLIANT way to head off the "Rey's a Mary Sue" bullshit by basically saying that she totally is but justifying how wrong and out of place it feels in-universe. That's devious! -This version of Rose is so much more likable. And I didn't even hate her to start, but making her a kind of cool near human cyborg who's all book smarts but little practical experience who becomes an officer is a brilliant re-working of the character. -Luke being dead . . . that just solves SO MUCH! (And again, I didn't hate his self-imposed exile as it was.) -Phasma's "I fight for the strongest" mentality lends a lot of depth to her character and her redemption is almost as cool as Ben's. -Kaminoan Snoke. Oh, that is so good. It's a great way to tie the entire franchise together instead of the new movies pretending the prequels didn't exist. Overall, Snoke is a much-improved version where he's kind of like Sidious but not exactly. Simply willing to martyr himself for his belief already makes him a far different antagonist. -Giant Snoke final boss. I was so disappointed to find out he wasn't as big as advertised and the idea of fighting a giant with a lightsaber could lead to so many possibilities. . . . Yeah, this was pretty much exactly what I wanted from the new trilogy.

One of the biggest problems with TLJ is that Rian intentionally wrote it to undermine the entire good vs. evil narrative present in all the other Star Wars movies (he admitted to this). It destroyed the cohesion between all the films and made the previous ones seems pointless, which is one of the worst things you can do as a writer. I’m all for moral complexity in a universe that’s literally black and white, but not in a way that craps on the overarching message.

The concept of Zen Finn does sound cool, but I just wanted to say I hate that everyone keep saying all he does is yell "Rey". He did it once in the first movie and I think twice in the last one. In those cases she was in danger and he was calling out for her so it made sense. Then again because the sequel trilogy really dropped the ball with his character after TFA that's all people remember him for and that's a shame.

And I mean his laser focus makes sense when you consider what's happening in those scenes and their friendship. I just think it sucks that because Finn got the short end of the stick in the last two films this is all anyone takes away from his character. I guess that was my main point. He does more than just that but this is all anyone remembers.

2 changes I'd make: Finn has a white saber, canonically they are kyber crystals that were purified from the dark side, metaphor for him turning Ben and Rey to the light. Rose is not force sensitive but has a yellow saber once used by Temple Guards, since she is the closest thing to one so Rose teaches Finn additional/advanced forms of saber combat that she had stored in from Cin Drallig's notes (nice little name drop)

Finding Lando is how they learn about Snoke having clones and how to defeat them. They then go to find Finn, Rey, and Kylo to warn them. Okay, here's a quick question: If Rey being a force plague makes everyone love her, why was she kicked out of the city? If you don't have an answer, here's how I think it would work: The force plague effects aren't permanent. If she stays with a person for long enough, it wears off, and that person has an opinion of her based on their own thoughts. My evidence for this is the alien salesman from the first movie. IIRC, he said "Your charms don't work on me anymore," implying they once did, but stopped. So what happened with Rey's rich adoptive parents was they were disgusted by her at first, and then her force plague abilities made them love her, but after a while, it wore off, and they were disgusted by her again, even moreso than before since she manipulated them and got everything dirty, so they, like Ben said, threw her out like trash. There's another level to this: Since the other characters still like her after the time the force plague effects would ware off, it proves that she is capable of making people genuinely like her without the force, and she's not just a manipulator.

That's a good idea, the fun thing about the force is you can use it to cover pretty much any plot hole. I have a few ideas on how that would work: -Rey was just inexperienced and conflicted so the power wouldn't work forever -Rey had some of the dark side in her the whole time, so her force connection to them would eventually give some of the dark side to them and make them hate her, which would explain why her parents stopped loving her even though they raised her and they should've grown to love her anyway -Everyone has the force in them, so over time the force in them would try and resist the pull. But if she only has the light side or whatever was similar to them then the person would reach back at her in the same way. This would explain why her and Kylo had a connection (they were both conflicted) and why Kylo wanted to stay and rule with her without knowing her at all, and why Rey in turn wanted the same

But then he was corrupted by the Emperor. He became the most feared person in the galaxy.” “But you turned him back! You saw that there was light in him and you turned him back to the light side.” “There was no light in Ben. I was the one that allowed it to happen and I will not let that happen again!” He force pulls Vader’s saber to himself and storms off. In a later scene, he puts the saber back in the box and touches it thoughtfully. Then, he ponders something, and we see him walk away quickly, which cuts to your version of the scene with Yoda.

the "Force Plague" idea you're talking about is actually a concept that exists in Star wars already. but the concept's actual name is "Wound in the force". basically, like a black hole in the force, wherein a place or individual influences the minds of others they interact with much in the way you suggested. a wound in the force draws everything to it, and it grows stronger with the force energy it leeches/absorbs from those around it. basically like how gravity is stronger around a black hole, a person who is a wound in the force can seem very powerful in the force in a similar way. the force around them grows stronger because they act like a singularity, and are able to influence it and control it. people are drawn to them, and their actions are influenced by them. etc i do like the idea of Rey being such a person who is an anomaly like this. but these types of anomalies are born out of extreme circumstances where a LOT of life dies very suddenly. massive tragedies and such. the main example of a walking Wound in the Force in Star wars was born out of the destruction of an entire planet.

Them being close enough to the mass death causes the wound to manifest in the as of yet unborn Rey. Also because of the sudden loss of their home world where everything they own is destroyed, Rey's parents become poor and end up as filthy junk traders and eventually sell their daughter out of desperation.

I thought the final battle seemed bad? Like 3 people against a group of knights and clones? Seems really chaotic. I think they should beat the knights and then they each have to fight a clone. I think this scene should happen at the same time as Phasma killing Snoke and finishing her arc. THEN after they kill the clones AND the knights, there will be a real version of snoke that they each have to fight. I like the idea of them fighting each other while this is happening, but it seems chaotic.

THIS IS SO GOOD i got so excited over this i wanted to throw in something: maybe instead of flashbacks directly telling the viewer what kylo means when he says rey's a force plague, there could be a certain motif that's played every time she uses the force to influence others; not anything significant, just a few distinctive notes that stand out against the rest of the soundtrack. That way, when kylo does the Big Reveal, the notes could play in a fleshed out, more cohesive theme as the answers to rey's questions are revealed through sound instead of being directly spoon-fed to the audience. But that's just my two cents- what you've done is beyond anything I could imagine!!! this is crazy. kudos x30000 to you

Honestly sound cues turning into a full on song is really cool to me, like a song that purposefully feels incomplete so it can have things added (like say there's this song in a game, it feels sorta empty, not done. But as you progress it slowly becomes more and more complete. Or two characters having a song associated with them and they clash and those songs come together like 2 halves of 1 whole) to make it feel complete is honestly really cool to me.

Finn having an actual character arc, being useful to the story, making his stormtrooper background a part of his character, and overall utilizing his potential? Yes. Beautiful. Watto's resistance to the Force wasn't a unique thing. The more different a person's mind is from the one influencing them, the harder it is to do. That's why Geonosians were considered effectively immune to mind tricks. This was also a learnable skill, as seen with Cad Bane requiring 3 Jedi (and quite a bit of mental anguish) to crack. I'm not saying he couldn't be a Toydarian, but it wouldn't be a requirement.

That and maybe have the shields fail due to BB-8 or Rose doing shenanigans to explain the light speed ramming doesn't work because shields allow the jump to hyperspace to not interact with the jumping ship in transition. That fixes the universe breaking move (while visual masturbation [I despise Last Jedi]) that makes every previous space battle be begged the question.

With Leia flying out of the ship, my friend actually suggested a pretty interesting idea which would be that Kylo was the one who used the force on her to bring her back into the ship rather than her doing it. I think it would be an interesting bit of character development for him, especially if he keeps the fact that he did that under his hat for a while.

Honestly, I have never really understood all the hate behind the Leia using the Force to fly scene. I mean, I'd understand if people had issues with the editing of the scene but there are some people who think that Leia using the Force is heresy itself. And I find that to being really ridiculous and retarded really. I mean, the idea of Leia using the Force makes perfect sense when you stop to think about it for a second. Leia is the daughter of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and the twin sister of Luke Skywalker, both of whom are Chosen Ones of the Force. With such a direct lineage of Force users behind her, of course it would make perfect sense that Leia would be able to use the Force just like her father and brother. Even if she only unlocked her Force powers after the Original Trilogy, she still had 30 years to train and hone her Force powers. So that strikes down complaints of Leia's Force usage in TLJ being "too OP and not having build up to". Besides, it's not Like would've been a master of every aspect of the Force. It's very probable that Leia was also one of the teachers at Luke's New Jedi Academy, teaching the aspects of the Force that she was more skilled at than Luke was.

Satele Shan and Jace Malcolm gave us Theron Shan, a normal human despite her powerful lineage. Also Revan and Bastilla’s child wasn’t force sensitive.

She was brilliant as a leader and took personal risks along with her people, she never needed the force. It’s just makes too many of the important characters force users for my liking really. It’s almost as if you need to the force to be important when you don’t. I think giving her it took that away a little and also I like that above idea of Kylo saving her, it would have added to both of them.

Eh, while I think this version is far far better than the real one, the main problem still rings true here- maybe even worse. That's the fact that these 3 movies don't matter at all in the saga. They don't have any reason to exist and be called sequels to the previous 6 movies. I think the only way to make this version of the sequel trilogy work is to brand it as a spin-off trilogy set in the future rather than a direct sequel to 6.

A thought about the"Luke throwing the lightsaber" moment: since he's a force ghost in you version, why not have him take the saber with the force and drop/throw it without ever actually touching it. Then you can later explain that taking the saber was impossible because he was a ghost. You could even replace the fight he has with Rey to have him dodge Finn like he will when distracting Ben later. (Again, because he isn't actually physical.) This would foreshadow him not really being there while making him look like just a crazy old man.

One thing I'd probably add to this would be Finn discovering that he's a clone, and not an original or anything. I think you touched on this a bit, but only vaguely really. At some point Finn & co would maybe discover a room (or rooms) full of "Originals". Captured people who were used as templates for the various clone types being used to fill out the ranks. Finn might discover that some the First Order's trooper designations (XX-111) are based off the original's name "Fyor Nord" becoming FN etcetera. Your First Order clones theory could also easily be covered by one thing we know of the First Order and the Empire in general: You had to earn the right to take off your helmet, ever, and be seen. This could be done to prevent troopers from discovering that they were clones, especially since we know that they were constantly reconditioned. A clone that distinguished itself could be surgically altered and reconditioned upon earning the right to show it's face, or just simply always reconditioned and never actually allowed to show their face. This could also explain why all of the First Order officers have different faces- Clones never being allowed to become officers. Finn could stumble upon this 'original's room and find a body, dead, in suspended animation. Maybe 30 or 40 years older than he himself is. Fyor Nord (Or some other FN star wars name) could have some biometrics data that Finn finds on a dusty panel. On dusting it off he'll find that Fyor was one of the people on a Jedi force sensitives list, but never amounted to anything and ended up being passed over by the Empire as well. This could help reinforce Finn's earlier statements of "I come from a matched set of millions" that he's dropped a couple of times. This could be used to great emotional impact when Finn fights the other Finn clones, each one individually being surprised when he displays force powers superior to anything any other Finn has acheived, reinforcing that his origins don't dictate his story. This could also be used to significant impact in regards to Rey's reaction to seeing and discovering this as well.

My idea was, simply, "Take what's basically a confirmed fan theory and _run with it._ " That fan theory, of course, being that then-Supreme Chancellor Palpatine caused the terrible dreams that Anakin had, much like how Vader created the visions in Luke's head of his tortured friends...by torturing them. Only Palpatine did so with Sith Magic, which is canon due to the Clone Wars cartoon. Anyway, basic concept: Luke doesn't just have a one-off where he wants to kill Ben. No, he has a _recurring nightmare_ about a _masked figure deliberately following in Vader's footsteps_ that he _cannot_ identify...for _six months straight._ So when, during one particular training session, he gets the same nightmare _while awake,_ and the figure reveals his face as _Ben,_ he snaps from the prolonged psychological torture and attacks...and he doesn't even realize his mistake of his own mind. Luke would then state, "It was then that I heard the laughter. The laughter of complete success, of victory, of _domination,_ in my head, as my anger vanished. You see...in Palpatine's effects, after he died, we found books on old Sith rituals, including ways to create false visions in someone's head. According to his notes, he used these on my dad, but it apparently took three _months_ of preparation to do _once,_ because however powerful Palpatine was, my father was far stronger in the Force until he lost half his body mass. But Snoke...he played me like a _fiddle,_ an expert Bith musician like that band back in Mos Eisley, and he did so _at a whim._ I came here to hide and prepare, because there's no _way_ I could face him as I was then...or as I am now...without serious preparation or an army at my back." And if you _really_ wanted to make Rey be that special snowflake, have him say, "But you...your power is greater than his. Unhoned, but it's there. I just wish I knew how to help you hone it properly...because that's the only way Snoke gets put down." Have him then sigh miserably. "I never learned how to teach, much less how to teach future Jedi. And because of that, I failed Ben, my pupils, my mentors, the galaxy." He then looks up at her, misty-eyed. "Please...help this old man make things right again. I know it's a lot to ask, but...I don't see a better option." TL;DR: _PLAY UP THE SHEER THREAT THAT SNOKE PRESENTS._

I would like to point out that what you've designed is a story that is pushed by its characters rather than its writers. By making the characters in the story real characters and causes the story to go in a different direction. The original sequel trilogy was pushed entirely by the writers and therefore sucked because it was supposed to happen and not because the characters caused it to happen. Your version feels very character driven which makes it satisfying also I feel like it breaks way less of the established rules of the Star wars franchise.

Sadly the hyper space ram seems here to stay, but I can think of a few ways to make it work. In particular when it is pulled out of hyperspace by the mass shadow of the ship it hits we see it physically tear through the ship it hits, the reactors exploding all over the place and shrapnel tearing through the other ships at near light speed

There is a premise for "Force Plague" in Star Wars. In KOTOR 2, Meetra Surik (the main character) can easily form Force Bonds with others which allows her, at an subconscious level, to manipulate them to fight for her regardless of their own choices. She takes this to the extreme with her mentor, Kreia, who can telepathically communicate with her and they can even feel each other's physical sensations (such as losing the other's hand).
