@@rpospeedwagon Seems at least in here retailers are selling them close to MSRP at least with tax. MSI RTX 3070 Ventus X2 OC goes for 589€ with tax, Nvidia on their store is listing RTX 3070's for 529€. That 50€ price difference comes from tax alone, as its pretty high at 24%, so yeah quite close.

@@brentw0681 It is not what matters right now. The RTX 20XX series sold well because right then the AMD alternatives were quite shitty except the rx 5700. Right now it is the same, we are talking about how the RTX 30xx series are overpriced, especially the RTX 3060 etc. But it is not like AMD has much better options price/performance wise. Such a scam from both parties. If one were to compete not necessarily to make quick bux but to deliver the best performance this generation of tech has to offer, NVIDIA would be in the shadows right now. But it doesn't happen because AMD is also shallow. The last 2 generations were basically a disaster, I hope we get a big jump in performance like the PASCAL generation did, from the gtx 900 series into the 1000 series, that was actually a worthy upgrade. But I get it covid etc etc...

I remember back in 2020, while other countries were experiencing GPU shortages, here in the Philippines it was flooding with GPUs. It was flooding other PC parts in fact, not just GPUs. I used an HD Plex power supply and converted the original SFX power supply slot to accommodate an EK AIO. I would like to see what this blower style cooling solution would do there.

That doesn't make any sense, maybe I missed the joke, but a VHS tape used as a size reference would still be the same size for anyone regardless whether they are a giant or a dwarf. Unless VHS tapes did not exist in real life and were only subjective concepts without tangible measures of what the actual size really is. and yeah, I'm actually fun at parties.

2:25, probably depends of cases and things like that, my CPU started to get higher thermals when I switched from a 1060 to a 2070 super, and things got even worse when I replaced that 2070 super with a 2080ti. (Knowing that all of those card where open shroud of course). So, non-blower styles card can make your others components having higher temperatures (especially CPU) but this effect may vary depending of your case, CPU cooling system etc...

I have a 1070 ti and it has lasted me for a long time. Great card. I might get a 3070 super or ti model when it comes out and keep the card for 2-3 years. I think ray tracing won't really be good until GeForce trx 5000 series cards in a few years

I was lucky enough to get myself a Asus 3070 TUF gaming gpu on launch day and currently 38th in line in the UK from a sales site to get it. So I should receive it with in about 2 weeks. I gonna be paired with a Ryzen 9 3900 and hoping to see some improvements. Great video, keep up the good work.

Got a pre-built with a Gigabyte 3070 and i7 10700k last week and it's been absolutely fantastic. Launched Crysis for laughs and it sits at 150-170fps+ 😂 So far lowest I've seen is about 49fps on GTAV during wild online happenings. Brilliant video and explanations, too. Looks live I've got a new channel to follow!

I'd recommend walking into your local computer stores. The Microcenter near my house listed the 3000's GPU's as out of stock. Yet something told me to go there and I managed to grab a 3070. Guess I was lucky as they just had restocked with the cards and was crazy how they all were gone by the end of the day.

iirc GN did a tear down, and while the exterior is an alloy or alum, the interior has plastic shielding.

@@tinyconspiracy9997 the entire thing is aluminum, but it has plastic foil put into place on the inside and a thermalpad without cut to the metal on it too...*facepalm* but that can be solved, just keep it cold, so the glue doesnt bite to much cut it out, maybe even pad-mod that thing for the entire VRM backside and put it back together...now the aluminum can do its job properly, holdig everything in place and also help cooling thing down a little.^^

I'm very behind but recently got a strix 3070, It's a quick and dirty upgrade from a 980ti, 2070, and i've only had the 2070 for about a month and realized the 12700k I got was hardly being used and gpu was bottlenecking it. I generally say the xx70 series usually are as good or above the xx80/xx80ti series. Good vide :)

That's a good thing to have a GPU bottleneck. Most games are more GPU intensive and generally at 1440p/4k you'll usually be GPU bottlenecked. If you were being CPU bottlenecked then your performance would be severely crippled since it would mean you're not able to get full advantage of all the power your GPU has thus lower fps That's why CPUs get tested at 1080p since at that resolution your GPU doesn't do much work so you'll usually be CPU bottlenecked and can actually see the performance difference between different CPUs.

@Johnfuse There's no evidence a backplate, metal, plastic, or otherwise does anything to affect thermals. I don't know if Jay tested this, but others have. They're not connected to the cooling system so I don't see how they would help dissipate heat. If anything you'd think they'd trap heat, but they don't do that either. They're pretty much for looks only.
