I once heard Oprah say most of us are not aware that there is a “self”. I find this to be true. Before we can even begin to heal ourselves we have to have awareness. We have to be aware of our negative self talk among other negative habits before we can change it. This is for me the most difficult part of healing. I would love to see a video on how to first find your “self”. Most of the time I slip into depression but I don’t know what triggered it. Additionally, I would like to see some videos on numbing yourself and how to stop those habits. Thank you for your insight! I found the inner child videos very helpful. Keep up the great work!

Hi Morgan, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on our videos. You are correct, awareness of any faulty/inauthentic self-talk and beliefs must come before the change... as we say: 'you cannot change what you do not understand!' These videos may also help you with this understanding and our approach: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZutmKaJaJt2rqM / kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqGYZIuemJllqKs We do not believe 'numbing' your emotions is the correct solution. Your emotions ('positive' or 'negative') are the *helpful indicator* that tell you when you are in or out of balance, so why would you want to hide or mask them? If you have questions on any of our teachings please let us know or if there's a topic or issue you'd like us to cover in future videos do tell us as this helps us plan our future videos. I started to see a therapist who helped me immensely. I know not everyone subscribes to this but honestly, I spent a long time looking for answers on KZbin videos and what I thought was good only lasted a week or so and I was back to feeling very low again. My therapist helped me re-programme my subconscious. No video or meditation can do this. They'll only provide short term relief. This was my experience and it took my years to realise that I needed external help. So I got it. And it has helped.

I realised that for years I've not felt worthy ...I had an accident to my hand at the age of 3 ...I was bullied at school and I hid my hand I could never accept my hand ...I've spent many years trying to discover who I am and to try and accept that I look different..... no wonder my inner child has been crying all these years because I have not been accepting who I am ..no more hiding ...Thank you again

Hi Katerina, Thank you for sharing your story with us. We are very pleased that our videos are helping with your personal journey and emotional education. As you will appreciate it would be inappropriate for me to comment on personal issues without full knowledge, history and background. Therefore I can only comment in general terms. In these type of situations, I think you have to do the Golden Thread Process for yourself and uncover your core beliefs and the belief system you have created as a result of your childhood experiences. We call this the Inner Child work. If you do NOT trust yourself where do you believe that trust and reassurance should come from? When you begin to do this Inner Child work you begin to understand it is about taking full self-responsibility and not looking externally for validation. The second point you raise is again about accepting that YOU create your emotions, you are NOT the victim. So, again it is about why you chose to become overly emotional? This is a choice that you are making, albeit on a very deep level. But, doing the Golden Thread Process will allow you to understand your core beliefs around these subjects. If you have questions on any of our teachings please let us know or if there's a topic or issue you'd like us to cover in future videos do tell us as this helps us plan our future videos. I do wish you’d actually list “hows” as most people watching this videos can easily understand the concept, but obviously have trouble applying the principles you’re talking about. Like real life, actual, day to day examples. This felt like a lot of talking in circles.

17:00 When my partner crossed a boundary, then never apologized and said she was adamant she would continue bending over for the camera on social media… I definitely did this. All her flaws started appearing and I made a list of pros and cons / red flags. Her aggressive nature, stubbornness, outbursts, refusal to take accountability and apologize for sexualizing herself to hundreds of people, her gaslighting by saying the pictures were suggestive in the context of my own mind (when she was about to spill out and bending over and caressing her chest), insults and putting me down for having a problem with it, her poor choices with money, her hypocrisy. It all started to pile on. I cannot deal with hypocrites. I cannot deal with stubborn people. I cannot deal with manipulative gaslighting. I just get upset with myself for not being able to walk away peacefully and see the warning signs sooner and act on them sooner. But I loved myself enough to speak up on the things I had issue with until the weight broke the camels back.

I hope you've restored your peace and happiness. your story resonates with me because of similar experiences with a woman for whom I had "mad love" but I realized, finally, that she just didn't care about me. It was painful breaking up and difficult moving on but staying would have been so much worse... I'm not a psychiatrist but I suspect that she had severe kookoo

Hi, and thank you for this video. It's probably taken me a few hours to listen to it, because I wanted to listen to it and absorb it. This is such a huge topic, very emotional, very thought provoking. David, thank you for your honesty in repeating 'Stop it' I experienced it on every occasion I saw you. Stop it! You say it with such authenticity, honesty, truth, passion and belief. I was shocked the first time you said it me. Now I see it as fundamental truth to love me for who I am, accept me for who I am. Wow! That's huge. I'm 'Responsible'. That's true, I know it now. I'm still a work in progress to come to terms with this life I have, to let go, let it flow and let it grow and even thrive. I so admire your interaction with Alex and vice versa. It's comforting to see you nourish each other. A rare quality. Keep doing what you are doing, very much appreciated.

Self love, what a great basic thing to discuss witch can be so challenging to understand and practice. My self image has always been so poor because how I thought and understood how love worked! Of coarse that started with my parents/caregivers! Thank you both so much for taking the time to put these videos together to help people such as myself in having another resource to go to in helping us understand and first become aware of these types of things. I really like the simplicity of using the red light green light technique because I tend to act and react with my feelings. So for starters I think the red light Green Light approach will be a great basic and understandable way of identifying your feelings as positive or negative. Then in time we can be dissecting it to a deeper level of understanding. Thank You, thank you so very much David and Alex!!! Peace ~

Sometimes one does this because they are made the responsible one who handles everything. I took care of my mother and cooked when I was ten. Sometimes it is done out of love. Hi Derek, thanks for watching our video and sharing your personal thoughts - we appreciate it. The love (Qi energy) must flow through you first before it can flow out to others. The Taoists teach that this is the authentic and natural way of Qi flow. Any other way becomes some form of 'manipulation' (of Qi). I have listened to a few videos now and I love it! You both are so amazing and such great teachers! Keep doing what your doing because your positively influencing my life today. I was abused in every way imaginable for most of my life. I’ve been on a journey of healing for the past five years. I couldn’t be more happy with life. My perceptions and beliefs had to go. Your videos help me see the truth so I can grow and help others like me. The truth really does set people free. Thank you!

I just watched your video again. I am going through a difficult situation now and I think it is related to my difficulty of accepting and loving myself. When I was younger I made some terrible choices and now I have a hard time "forgiving myself". I grew up with parents that were not very kind and loving. So I learned to think of myself as unworthy or love. Always searching for someone to love me because I could not find it in myself. Your video has started to open the door to a new way of thinking for me. You call it acceptance. I will watch your video again and if you have any books that I can read, please recommend. Thanks so much.

Hi Mildred, Well done for recognising the creation of your childhood beliefs. This is the first step, because you can't change what you don't understand! Now you understand you can begin the Golden Thread Process, for instance; Why are you unworthy? I believe you are extremely worthy, what is it about you I need to know? The Golden Thread Process is a very powerful technique that will change you core belief system and your life. David

Thank you for your videos & support. I've always lived my life for everyone else. I always thought that I'm here to help others through difficult times. To help others love themselves,to support & listen. I really never thought of self love. Tbh self love was like being selfish & that is a no no. I thought I was put here to serve & guide & show others the way & that when I die & go to heaven then that would be my reward. That I would recieve the love back that I'd given to everyone else. It's only recently that I'm discovering self love are trying to. Trying to be more self aware. I'm going through a very tough time in my life right now,going through an excruciating break up. A friend of mine has been talking to me about self love & about the inner child & how it's really not about the other person. It's about why I feel such an intense pain & trying to find the root. I have to admit I thought it was insane but trying to understand & being open to this has help ease this time in my life. Love to me means: to sacrifice yourself for others. To support,motivate & guide others. Love means to me grabbing someone's hand & walking through there hell with them. Idk if my understanding of love is wrong or not. I was not abused as a child,I feel I had an average up bringing. Lost my dad in a car accident at 6 yrs old & mom remarried. My mom wasn't overly affectionate to me because she had 8 kids to tend to. I did my best to make sure my mom didn't have to worry about me so she could focus on the others who needed her. I can only recall 2 moments in my 46yrs of life that I remember my mom showing me love. Once when I was about 9 yrs old & around 30 yrs old. I look at my mother like she was a super hero. She was amazing to me. When she passed away 9 yrs ago I wouldn't look at her because I couldn't see something conquering her she was super woman lol. Sorry for all this I certainly didn't mean for all this to come out but it is what it is. Thank you for your help. I feel like I'm getting the support I know I need with you guys. You help me understand and see things like they should be.

I like your videos. I do highly recomemend watching “Love and Self-Love” by the School of Life here on youtube because it quickly explains that if we don’t love ourselves, we will never fully be able to trust when someone loves us back (one-way relationships lead to martyrs and eventually resentment - no good!). We will wonder what’s wrong with them if they love us back, and we will turn into sieves who can never be filled, and/or self-sabotage the relationship because we won’t trust their love. WE need to fill that empty part we hope someone else will fill for us (which is a terrible job - I’m sure you don’t want to be held responsible for your partner’s happiness... that’s being a slave to someone else’s need. Your partner shouldn’t be a slave to fill your need for true belonging, either.

my recent breakup was so painful that I had had to turn to my vicar a couple of times for support and this is what he pointed it out to me …’ love your neiighbour as yourself’…’ you can only love another person as much you love yourself ‘….I think the pain that I always left after each break up was really the pain of rejection and abandonment ( from childhood ) rather than the loss of ‘ Love’…..because more often than not , I didn’t even feel I was in ‘ in love’ with them but when they left, I would just fall apart..

What about people who were punished for loving themselves? I mean literally punished, followed by insults because "you are not sacrificing enough". When you grow up, go through years of therapy, do your best to make conscious choices in love and still don't make them, rationally know you are good enough, but still deep down feel terrified and like you are betraying a part of yourself when you want to do something good for yourself that you know would be condemned as "not sacrificing" in your childhood? For exampled, I was told it would kill my parent if I did something that made me happy and they would engrave it on their grave that I killed them. I was a child back then. Of course I know that is not true, but the feeling of terror when I am not people pleasing is still there. Is there a way to not be people pleasing, but not feel that terror either? Because doing things my way and feeling terrified all the time does not make me happy at all.
@WuWeiWisdom
@WuWeiWisdom 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your childhood experiences, I was truly saddened to read them. I can appreciate that this must have been a confusing and terrifying situation. I'm always amazed when I hear these type of stories from my clients how you managed to survive! That is the basis of the Wu Wei wisdom teaching: you are amazing! From the information you've given me, there seems to be little more self-development work to be done. I notice you say...'of course, I know it's not true'...But then you go on to say that you are still creating a feeling of terror, so that would indicate to me that some of the "lies" that you must "please people" or you are responsible for their wellbeing are still in place. I accept that these may be very deep, but this is the power of the 'Golden Thread' technique to find those deep-seated "Vow" beliefs so that you can re-examine, take responsibility and change them appropriately. I have no doubt that you could complete this process because of the evidence of surviving the dysfunctional emotional education you received, then being able to observe and articulate it effectively. Never doubt yourself you are closer to sorting this out than you ever previously realised. I wish you well with your self-development work and thank you very much for watching and commenting on our videos. David x

It's a habit of thought, emotions, and action brought from childhood because when parents treat us badly, as innocent children we don't hate our blessed parents, instead we learn to hate ourselves and this just becomes an ingrained habit...learn to love yourself, make it a habit.

Thank you very much for this video. And for all of them, really, I have been listening to several and they have helped me a lot. You asked many times: why don't you feel awesome? Well, I actually know I'm a great girl, with many many qualities, and that helps me to love myself. BUT, I am also aware of my deep abandonment issues (I have a mentally ill mother and an abusive father who treated me horribly all my life) and I see that despite all my efforts to overcome this I'm not there yet and often I thinkI will never be. So I feel like I have a "handicap", something that makes me inferior to other women and constantly puts me in a place of fragility and suffering in my relationships. I am 35 and I really want to create a family but I don't believe I will be able to overcome my abandonment issues and have a loving and balanced relationship with someone who will accept me and love with all my qualities but also my fragilities. I feel like I don't know how to fully handle my abandonment issues and prevent them from ruining my love life and that therefore I will never be able to give and receive true love. And that's why I don't feel awesome and constantly beat myself up. I can work on increasing my self-love, and I have been doing that for a long time now and it works to some extent. But I can't help feeling unworthy knowing that I have such a deep problem in me. And I don't really know how to change this. Thank you for your attention

I too suffered deep and repeated abandonment issues starting with my diseased mother when I was one year old. I could not at that time conceptualize death but a baby can conceptualize abandonment. I had many other successive abandonments in childhood and beyond. It took serious therapy to walk thru all the pain and fears and I still struggle at times with this. These videos are very helpful.

Your video was really helpful. I have been thinking about something that makes me feel like I am not good enough. Sometimes people feel bad and they reach out to me because I am their friend then, let's say I am having a bad day and instead of focusing on myself I try to help them. I asked myself why, then the answer was, if I don't help them I am a bad friend, I am not following the path I want because I want to help others as much as I can. Then what do I do with this emotion?

Hi @biancatomasini329, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your kind words. Understanding and navigating relationships with individuals who exhibit narcissistic tendencies can be challenging. It's important to distinguish between self-love and narcissism. Loving yourself is about respecting and acknowledging your worth, which is essential for your well-being and Shen spirit. It's a healthy practice that allows you to care for others genuinely without losing yourself. Self-love is not selfish; it's a balanced way of living that enables you to be reflective, compassionate, and truly present for others. If you're looking for a supportive community to discuss and share experiences on this journey, feel free to join our FREE Wu Wei Wisdom community at facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/. Although I appreciate the information I feel as though I missed the steps being laid out. I got lost in a jumble from the 15:34 mark on. You started talking about separating the emotion from the belief then bled into red light/green light. Would be so kind to lay out the steps in a simple straight forward manner? Thank you 🙏

I have for a long time been very interested in I ching and in Taoism as well as what is known as non-duality. I find your videos very helpful, and realise there is a great deal of 'stuff' I need to work through. At the moment I see a psychoanalyst three times a week. At the age of 16 I experienced a transcendent happening which was wonderful, but I struggle now to know exactly which approach to my 'problems' to use. Can you comment on how I can get a handle on my difficulties, given that I feel I am straddling two worlds, or sort of...wordlviews? I dont know how far to delve into the past origins of problems and how far to just dismiss them as illusory. Either way - is not working! I presently have a serious headache trying to work things out! I have had a lot of input from the mental health system but with not a great deal of success. I know quite a lot about psychotherapy, the theory, with a fair amount of therapy received myself, but still, I feel so identified with my emotional and mental pain, and often it seems I cannot separate from these in order to look at what is going on and work well in the way you suggest. I love the 'Stop it'. It did help my headache, to laugh about that.

I have a analogy. I hope this doesn't offend anyone first off. But Here I Go when a woman is on the delivery table to deliver a baby into the world and the doctor's realizes there's major complications I have heard in my past but they saved the woman not the child. So that goes to show anyone that this thinking they shouldn't love themself I believe this simplifies it you must love yourself to be able to show love to another unto yourself. Here's another one. The beginning of your video there was someone I guess I had a question can you love another without loving yourself. I filled this about that question I do agree that you can love another and not love yourself because I have been there but the thing is is this when you can love another and not loving yourself you can't accept love from the other because you don't know what it is even though you can deliver love but if you don't love yourself you will not be able to accept love simply because you won't recognize it very confusing but I think I'm onto something please comment. Thanks for the great video I appreciate it and many others I'm sure they appreciate it you guys do a great job God bless sincerely James

K Happy glad someone said it before me! I agree, Love the topic, but the energy gets too ramped up like I don’t know who I should be paying attention to. Not as bad as The View with their constant need to talk over each other....but definitely takes away from how much better this video could be! A helpful video nonetheless! :)

I. I still don't know what is love. I would need some examples about what is self love behavior or how do we know that we are feeling love for people and not craving their approval. I like ironing! Is a good household to do as you listen this kind of video... So I learn a lot as I iron. I like to watch some movies or sing as i do that. So ironing is the only housework that I truly appreciate. 😊

Why I wake up (still semi asleep) with harsh thoughts about myself? How does that work and how to get rid of these disturbing thoughts
@WuWeiWisdom
@WuWeiWisdom Ай бұрын
Hi @alenabutkevica8007, Waking up with harsh thoughts can be unsettling. These thoughts often arise from unresolved issues in your mind. It's essential to gently address these thoughts and understand their origins. Try starting your day with a mindful practice, like deep breathing or gentle meditation, to create a calm and focused mindset. Journaling can also help you identify and work through these thoughts, transforming them into positive affirmations. Consider exploring our community for more support and guidance: facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/ Kind Regards, David

To me love is action. With love being a "feeling" and we all know "feelings" fluctuate depending on many different circumstances. How can you give something when you don't possess it for yourself.

I believe myself worthy to give myself love, I am selfish and take care of myself first, My answers did not fall in one of the 3 responses. My problem is I DONT KNOW HOW TO LOVE MYSELF. I've been loving others since the day I was born. It's what tv, movies and society teach us. I've been loving others all my life. The problem with many people is that they dont' know how to do it. I eat healthy, I do self care, I work and satisfy my needs...but I can't FEEL it. I could FEEL it when I think of my kids or husband but I can't FEEL it when I think of myself.

A question about: When you have a red light feeling, stop and ask Is this true? The thought/ feeling is “I’m in a financial crisis and it’s all I’ve known in my experience and nothing will change it” this is a Truth ... and there is clear evidence that it is true and has been true. And doing multiple jobs, programs, classes to (gain knowledge) create financial stability and a thriving financial lifestyle has not changed the circumstances... how do you then believe that it is possible for financial freedom or at the very least a thriving life when nothing you have learned or have done has changed it.

Hi Lisa, Great question. I think this highlights the 'Carousel of Despair' or a self-fulfilling prophecy. Also activating your 'Law Of Attraction'. We have done videos on all of these subjects to help you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/maDOk6eOjbepf9k If you have a belief "I am in financial crisis" that will be the result! As you will appreciate it would be inappropriate for me to comment on personal issues without full knowledge, history and background. Therefore I can only comment in general terms. I would suggest you start your Golden Thread Process "why don't I deserve financial freedom and start thriving?" I think you will find your Inner Child is involved in this situation. If you have questions on any of our teachings please let us know or if there's a topic or issue you'd like us to cover in future videos do tell us as this helps us plan our future videos. I realize now and wonder if its my IC I have sometimes a fight inside, about taking showers reguarly, personal hygiene stuff ,brush teeth everyday etcetera haha At one side i want to do it,and its normal,but simetimes i have so much resistance inside to do it and sometimes something rises inside like "what do i gain with this"? This problably is IC dont you think? First time i ever make this link in my life

Hi @infinity-vv4yj, Your insight into the internal struggle regarding personal care routines is an important realisation. It does sound like your Inner Child (IC) could be expressing resistance, possibly linked to past experiences or feelings of autonomy and control. Recognising this link is a significant step toward understanding and resolving these internal conflicts. By acknowledging and addressing your IC's needs and concerns, you can find a balance that honours both your well-being and your sense of freedom. Remember, it's about creating a nurturing dialogue within yourself that fosters care and respect for your needs and feelings. Keep exploring these connections, and you'll continue to uncover more profound understanding and harmony within yourself. Kind Regards, David

Thank you for all your video’s. I agree with Alex. I know I cannot love my wife or 3 daughters as I should because I do not love myself. I consistently fail to act in a ‘loving’ way partly because I believe that my love is not reciprocated - how could it be, after all I’m unloveable. I feel I am living in a charade - not being loveable so feel my family who surround me ‘tolerate’ me more than (love value) me. I cognitively know where this comes from but cannot shake it through thought or logic. I just watched your other video about Dan and his ‘people fixing’ I empathise so strongly. I hurt so much when I see other people not reaching their potential, or putting up with shit they don’t need to. I crash and bash and bully them into sorting themselves out yet know it is fruitless and causes everyone involved pain. You referred to channeling love through oneself. I feel instinctively that is absolutely true but visualise myself directing the brilliant light from source onto them while I hide in the darkness - as for some reason I don’t deserve to bask in that light myself. This is not a cognitive decision but an chronic inner ache since childhood. I appreciate the logic behind David’s words but concur with Alex’s objections to David’s assertion that one can fully love when one cannot love oneself. I know I’m not fundamentally unloveable, but am also fully aware that the personality I project due to my upbringing is borderline sometimes. This makes me sound really horrible but I’m not I promise 😆

Hi Chester Thank you for your comments. Perhaps checking out a couple of our other videos would be interesting for you as you mention one of what I call 'The Three Lies': “I am not loveable.” I would suggest you meditate on the evidence or reasoning that supports that belief. Again, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on our videos. David

You pose an interesting question? What do I value in myself? I can't find anything I value in myself.And I don't know how to love myself? I have been trying , however, easier said than done! How do you love yourself , when you don't know yourself?

Okay, why I'm not good enough (you asked for this): 1) I'm ugly. My nephew tells me these stories about how women young and old come on to him. 99% of his experiences have literally never happened to me. 2) I'm broke and unemployed. Who the hell wants a broke, unemployed man who can't get or keep a job? 3) I'm smart. I don't know why being smart is a turn-off, but apparently it is. 4) I'm good/nice. Women have this inverse correlation between attraction and goodness that I cannot comprehend, but I see it... the most attractive women are attracted to "bad boys", even more to downright criminals like Charles Manson, and millions to the worst monsters in history like Hitler and Stalin. But I'm good/nice, so I get nothing. 4) I'm getting old. I'm 56 and have never been married, no kids. Who the hell wants an old, broke man? 5) I'm not athletic. I always wanted to be strong and athletic, but I turned out weak and pathetic at sports. My sister-in-law is stronger and better at sports than I am, and she's half my size. 6) I'm not musically talented. I tried my damnedest to get good at music, but I just don't have any talent. I see musicians with nothing else going for them living with girlfriends, but that's not me. 7) My personality sucks, apparently. Even when I get someone interested in me on-line, she quickly loses interest. So I don't even have that going for me. Is that enough reasons I'm not good enough? I'm not good enough for attractive women, so why would I be good enough for me?
