The Smiths are a whole vibe, depressing or just plain snarky, they are great. It's not for everyone, though, but I love them.

If you're curious, he's wearing an old hearing aid. On the day of this performance he read a letter from a fan who told him that she hasn't seen The Smiths live because she wears a hearing aid which made her feel embarrassed, Morrissey was so touched by this so he bought a hearing aid to wear onstage. Years later he wore a more updated hearing aid on the video (film clip) for his solo song November Spawned A Monster. Thanks for the reaction, happy to see you enjoy The Smiths! Please do more!

The Smiths had already split by the time I got into them.....but I was converted FOR LIFE!💕 The lead singer Morrissey is a lyrical genius - he tackles all those dark things a lot of singers won't, but he normally puts a humorous edge on it. He was the voice for the shy, the misfits, the awkward, the 'I don't belong' people in the world’ - he made them feel less alone in the world through his lyrics. He went solo shortly after they split and is still an icon, releasing new music & playing sold out gigs due to his legendary status. I have seen him over *20 times* in concert and it's like a religious experience - his fans are intense! He is known for being unapologetic and refuses to play the fame game for record companies, which normally leads to him being dropped by the label - as if they think he cares! You should react to this video of him playing the Hollywood Bowl to see the amount of fans that *NEED* to touch him by invading the stage: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIHMm2lporh7aZI They don't call him the 'Mozziah' for nothing! Another great track you should react to about police corruption is 'Ganglord': kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnjSqK1qi5aWY5I At his concerts, he plays a collage of footage showing police brutality at it's worst. one of the most unique, talented and REAL artists out there today. *THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTION!!!* 👏 PS He's a staunch animal rights activist and The Smiths album, 'Meat Is Murder' is often cited for the biggest shift to vegetarianism. He refused to play his sold out gigs at Madison Square unless McDonalds agreed to close whilst he was there - and they DID!✊

The Smiths were such a complete band. Rightly so Moz and Marr get the spotlight but Mike Joyce was an energetic drummer, tasteful, didn't over play. Andy Rourke is a brilliant rock bassist. He can be a pocket player, weave melodically with Marr, come to the forefront like in Barbarism begins at home. There was always sonic space for everybody in The Smiths.

Great reaction, thank you! It helps to know that Morrissey was a massive fan of 60s pop star Sandie Shaw (she sang "Hand In Glove" with The Smiths not long after this), and the title is a spoof of her song "Heaven Knows I'm Missing Him Now" 🙂

Yes, most of their songs were very much tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at teenage angst, but this tends to go over the heads of a lot of people. It's a bit more obvious in songs like 'Some girls are bigger Than Others' or 'Vicar in a Tutu'.

Morrissey is a lyrical genius and has been something of a role model for angst ridden teenagers. He’s been lambasted by critics and the public alike over the course of his career for his rather politically incorrect outlook on life and especially where music and politics is concerned. Whether people love or detest him, they cannot deny the impact Morrissey has had on pop culture both with The Smiths and as a solo act.
