In this week's live stream, I'm taking any questions and looking at how to get tones from the Boss Katana.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

Hi Paul, I have loved your videos from the beginning. You are so natural and it just really refreshing. I have the Katana MK1 Artist and just bought the GX-100. I think I prefer the GX-100 after downloading some other people's patches. (I don't tweak much myself, as I find it very overwhelming). I have learned quite a bit about the tweaking from you however, and I just wanted to thank you. In one of your future packs for the GX100, would you please consider doing a gig ready classic rock pack of clean, boosted clean, crunch, boosted crunch, and lead tones? Thanks for considering and for all you do. Cheers! PS...I am thinking of getting rid of the Artist. I don't think I need it anymore.

Thanks for the video Paul! I've had my GX-100 for a few days, and I'm loving it so far. The last multi effects pedal I had was the ME-80, so there's a lot to take in. Look forward to more videos on it.

@ryanmurphyart
@ryanmurphyart 2 жыл бұрын
@@NeverStopLearningMan Hey. The ME-80 is great for what it is, but it’s very limited. It’s has a fixed signal chain. On the GX-100, there’s so many more effects, and you can place any effect anywhere. It’s actually pretty easy to use, and there will be many updates in the future for it. ME-80 is old tech. I would get the GX-100 for sure, as you might regret buying the ME-80 and selling it in the end. Hope this helps. It’s worth the money!

@@rakeshyadla7912 I didn't make a mistake, I'm much happier with the GX-100. Obviously if price was no object the Helix would probably be a better Praise & Worship unit but for me, the Gx-100 has what I need for the budget I'm on. I play direct to house usually with my Fender Stratocaster alternating with my PRS SE Custom 24. I am considering swapping out the PRS for a Telecaster. I just prefer the single coil pickups personally!

Great sounds!! Thanks for all GX100 video series. It definitely convinced me to purchase this unit. I've received my Gx100 today. I only had an hour and a half... And I spent almost all that time just using the first preset. Wow, it sounds amazing!!! I'm impressed, I was enjoying playing chords, and also playing the few songs I know , all with the same patch. When it was about the time to stop playing, is when I passed through some of the other patches. I can't wait for the weekend and play some more :) .... Wow, I had (still have) the first Boss GT, the GT5 in 1998, and yep, technology has evolved a lot, AIRD is definitely not COSM 😂

just got my GX-100 to replace my Pod Go and it's the exact same first impressions: Digital rasp and fizzy as hell on practically all drive patches!! And just as the Pod Go I am slowly finding the amps that sounds decent, tweaking EQ before/after amp/speaker and putting in my favourit CABEU speaker IR's (Orange 4x12 for dirt and Vibrolux for clean), I think I'm gonna like this one better than the limited DSP Pod Go

Arghh.. I had a massive collection of boutique amps. Ranging from cornfords to fenders. Do you think a good pedal board does the job? My problem with pedal boards is that they are uncontrollable in a live band scenario . I’m just old- school..my current rig is a Mesa boogie , fender strat & a tuner!! And of course the obligatory wha and boss delay. Lol .. what a dinasour😂
@TheStudioRats

It’s good but you’ve got a boogie, I’d get a couple of pedals that compliment that. I wouldn’t sell the amp as I think you’d need a good transition period.

Hi Paul I think I am going to get the GX100.. and your videos are one of the big reasons. Plus, I suspect no other range of multi fx pedals are as articulate and clear, as the Boss pedals in general, more so for at the price. Just one grey area remaining for me is whether recording direct into an audio interface will sound as good as recording via USB. I’d prefer the former but everyone seems to be doing the latter.
