The Titanic synchronicities: a story that foretold history

Morgan Robertson’s novel “Futility or the Wreck of the Titan” is remarkably similar to the real life events of the Titanic, and yet it was written 14 years before the ship sank into the North Atlantic Ocean. What explains this?
In this video, we explore the striking parallels between them: from the size of the ships, their luxurious amenities, their lack of adequate lifeboats, and the nature of their collisions with icebergs. Many skeptics dismiss these similarities as products of apophenia, which is the human tendency to perceive meaningful connections in unrelated things, but is that really a convincing answer? We look at other possible explanations including Carl Jung’s concept of synchronicity, and fractals. It’s an exploration of the mysteries of human consciousness and the interconnectedness of nature.

I was processing the necessary loss of a friend a few weeks ago. She is going places I cannot follow. And ending the friendship felt so big and so hard and it hurt so much. When I burned a note I wrote to her - my way of getting out the stuff that shouldn't actually be said to others - I noticed a hawk sitting on my back stair railing. He stayed there for about 30 min and then flew off, only to shortly reappear in an overgrown bush. There he stayed for 2 hours. I live in the city, and while there are a few fields nearby, he NEVER stays long. Except for this time. I chose to believe the universe sent him to stay with me in my grief. I love synchronicity, and love the thought of living in an alive universe that participates in our lives. Much better than the alterantive.

Morgan Robertson was a very quiet and honest person who mastered the ability to write what his imagination was showing him. Also he was a well mannered kind person, always being the perfect example of how a person should behave in respecting others. He was the kind of person that many of us would Love to meet and listen too.

An amazing and beautiful video. What a perfect description of synchronicity. The story reminded me of an experience in 2016. I was at a conference in Tucson Arizona called Spacefest which was kind of an annual reunion of surviving Apollo astronauts, I was there hoping to meet Jim Lovell. During a panel discussion with the Apollo astronauts Jim Lovell described how French author Jules Verne predicted the Apollo 8 moon mission in From the Earth to the Moon, published in 1865. Verne correctly predicted 3 men would launch from Florida in December in a capsule the size of the Apollo command module. Lovell was clearly impressed with the accuracy of the predictions. It was the first time I heard about this. There is much more to this story but I will leave it at that. Thanks for the wonderful explanation of a beautiful and mystical phenomenon.

Happy New Year Elson! It is quite interesting that Robertson's novel seemed to predict the sinking of the Titanic 14 years beforehand. Although there are some cases where life imitates art and there are self-fulfilling prophecies, I do think events such as this reach beyond what we can understand. I believe there is something all living beings are capable of channeling when their minds are in a flow state. For writers and creative people, such as Robertson, I think they are more open to reaching this flow state. I guess I believe it because it happens to me occasionally. Sometimes it happens through music. An example is this past summer. I woke up one morning and heard the song "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash in my mind. It's not a song I had heard recently so it was strange when it played persistently in my mind for about a week. I had such a strong feeling that I contacted my good friends in BC, in California and in NZ (places along the Pacific "Ring of Fire") asking if they had experienced any earthquakes or climate events lately. Although I knew I came across a bit weird by asking them such questions, I felt compelled to ask. Not long after that, I saw on the news there were fires in Maui. The song eventually disappeared from my mind after that. Things like this have been occurring more and more frequently that I have been keeping a journal of songs that pop up in my mind and I try to connect the dots in hindsight. Anyway, I hope winter has been kind in your part of the country. It's been lovely in my part of the Prairies so far 🙂

I, too, will have songs pop into my mind. I take them as personal and try to capture the portion of the lyrics I hear. Sometimes repetitively. I can often figure out what the message is.

@@seeking.harmony it's definitely fascinating. For me, it's usually songs that come out of the blue or occasionally songs I don't even know the names of or who the artist is. I've had to hum it into my phone to see if it recognizes the tune or try to sing it to friends lol Music is vibration which is a way of communicating on it's own so I just find it all very interesting when music/lyrics can be related to something that occurs in real life.

YAY!!! Another video from my favorite KZbinr! ❤ The ideas you’re putting forth are very deep. I had to replay this line at the end multiple times, “the possibility that synchronicity can show you flashes of the future that you can choose to make real.” It implies that while we each have free will, we are also co-creating our lives with some sort of higher entity. I agree - this might be possible. I’ve experienced enough hard-to-explain events (vivid dreams, synchronicities, etc) in my recent past that, at this point, I trust and follow whatever synchronicities I get.

I've always felt that certain imaginations, mostly those of certain artists, produce a kernel of reality than is later picked up and unraveled, as it were, and, reciprocally, the actual event feeds a predictive ability in certain sensitive people -even if they don't know it. The sinking of an unsinkable, monumental ship, is a given, something that will inevitably happen as an instrument for certain evil wrongdoing (for I don't believe it was a complete accident) to unfold.

Wonderful comment, and what you've written is very much in line with my reading of Jung's theories on the collective unconscious and creativity. That is, great art often has a feeling of 'timelessness' about it, because the artist has been able to tap into universal and ancient archetypes and express them in a way that feels both new and yet familiar on a deep level. Creative people, artists, and other sensitive people are tapping into it unconsciously ("even if they don't know it" as you point out), and I believe it's accessible to everyone.

The basic outline for manifestation is what I've set out in that video (i.e., start with a good thought, good work, and positive action), but synchronicity also plays a role in that; I believe synchronicity and manifestation are complementary processes. Is funny, cause in my writings, I'm a wannabe writer, I actually invented a world called the labyrinth world were the things we imagine and create on earth as fiction (faerie, vampire, magicians, dragons, etc) are all real races and one of my characters say Its possible that the imagination of humans and similar races created the races of this world or maybe creative people just have a easier way to tap into that world and wrote stories that are true there, either way both are true. 😊

@@ModernIntuitionist Elson, im totally serious i will be taking a dingy and life jacket when i get on the ship after i tell you what happened a few days after this video. 2-3 days later i went to a local cafe to have a meal and this Ccafe also happens to be called the 'Titanic' so it has books about the ship ect that i often sit near to read. So i was thinking to show your video to the owner about the strange connections about the Titanic and the Titan to the owner if he served me but he was too busy so iI didnt get the chance. Well this where it gets stranger because where i live my landlord had the builder in to fix up my place. It happens the builder has actually travelled to the US several times by cruise ships from Southhampton to Miami so was advicing me on to do when I go to New York . But this is where gets even more weird the skip they have outside my house to chuck out all building work from my place right now which i can send you the pic is called 'Titan' lololol

I'll do you one better. Their names were switched before the launch of Titanic. But that's a lesser known fact. Most know they were twin sister ships from White Star Line out of Liverpool. So it's actually the Olympic at the bottom of the Northern Atlantic not the Titanic

Nah it goes far, far beyond that. I’ve firsthand seen so many bizarre synchronicities, involving things I’ve thought in my mind but not breathed a word out loud about. Synchronicities are folded into the fabric of how the universe works.

I do actually think predictive programming occurs, but to say that’s always the explanation is to think very, very small. Personally, I think reality is being continuously generated by all consciousness(es), so when many people give their attention or intention to something it can be manifested.
