I did the Promo code but it was still just for 7 days😑 I was excited about this & ended up in hospital so I was unable to watch anything before ‘trial period’ ran out, so I’m whining & feel like I missed out & am throwing my tantrum in ur comment section….my apologies❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Unfortunately, I've read the biography on Sanford Clark written by his son (its called "The Road Out of Hell"). It's a well written book but I don't think I could ever recommend it due to how intensely upsetting Sanford's story is. However, in the book he is very clear that, not only was Walter Collins one of his uncle's victims, but that Sanford was unfortunately present for his murder. He says that he remembers Walter in particular because he was the first boy his uncle abused that could speak English (most of his previous victims were undocumented migrant children from Mexico) and how horrible it was to try and instruct Walter on how to attempt to survive and withstand his uncle's abuse. He also says that his uncle was very manic and unstable day to day, and his attempts to toy with Christine Collins from jail was very much in character for him. However, I cannot stress enough how upsetting that book is so please, please don't look into it unless you are ready to stomach some of the worst accounts of child abuse I've ever seen. There's two bits of light in the darkness, though, that I try to keep in mind when I get too depressed thinking about this cas: 1: Remarkably, Sanford went on to recover very successfully from his childhood and lived a full and happy life as, according to his son, an amazingly gentle, loving, and wonderful husband and father to his wife and kids. 2: After trying to desperately dodge the death penalty, Gordon Stewart Northcott was sentenced to hang. On top of this, the rope used to hang him was "mistakenly" too short so it took him in total 13 minutes to die.

The LAPD treated Christine Collins horribly after finding an abandoned boy and telling her to “try the boy out”. Like, horribly doesn’t come close to describe the way she was treated. J.J. Jones did Christine Collins so dirty, never apologized, never even paid her the money she was owed from the lawsuit she filed and won against him. My heart still breaks for her, she never truly got answers to what happened to Walter or where he was. She spent the rest of her life looking for him and that’s so upsetting to learn she died without finding her son. I do believe that he was unfortunately a victim of that sick monster Northcott and his disgusting mother.

Pretty certain Walter met his end at the ranch. I’m racking my brain for the source, but Sanford gave testimony of playing with a boy named Walter Collins, and trying to protect Walter from being murdered by Robert and his mother just before it happened….and he heard it happen. Sanford’s story is tragic, iirc he was sent to work on the farm by a neglectful family and there were multiple instances he tried to inform them of Robert’s abuse then his murders, and it wasn’t until his sister visited that someone took him seriously.

According to a Mental floss article he was sent back to his family and attended a state rehabilitation program. He lived an average life after that until he died in 1954 of a blood clot. The article also states that he felt that he owed Christine an apology for impersonating Walter. He just wanted away from his stepmother and saw an opportunity for a free trip to California. Sad all around, but he seemed to turn out ok when he reached adulthood.

The chicken coop murders have shaken me to my core for years. Northcott and that "mother" of his were PURE EVIL - and I mean it when I say it! Poor Christine, Walter, Arthur, Sanford and all of the victims of that EVIL duo. It is just sickening. I first heard about this case back when I was so young, maybe 11 or 12? I just couldn't believe it. Even my dad, who has a VERY strong stomach, was horrified. He remained calm but I could see it as he shook his head in disbelief. I so badly want to hug all the victims in this case (gosh, there are SO many!) and just get my hands on Northcott and his "mother". Ugh! LAPD's treatment of Christine is UNBELIEVABLE. Even after she showed them evidence and asked for more evidence, they had the nerve...and the AUDACITY!

I appreciate how you always stive for a balanced point of view in your commentary! I was sympathizing the police at first but that had shattered at the point LAPD refused to listen to Christine. And the fake child taking the opportunity of escaping his family is sure a bizarre twist in this story, that is making it appear fictional. In the end, the woman was doing the job for the investigators, interrogating the killer and fishing for more details on the killed boys. Man. Christine Collins is a true hero.

So in Easter Ross we have a few areas of Pagan interest, specifically Rosemarkie where we have Fairy (Faery) Glen. We put coins into the offerings which is a large fallen tree that’s been there for decades, it’s a dead tree, you only use the dead tree as it’s disrespectful to use living trees. I’ve done this myself since childhood and have had visitors ask why we leave offerings. The offerings tree are us giving offerings to the faeries, to keep them happy. If we don't give the faeries offerings, then they will steal our nicely behaved, happy and healthy human babies with changelings, faery babies, who are horrible, difficult, don't behave and sickly. Basically, so your human baby isn’t swapped and a stranger takes its place. There’s also the Clootie Well at Munlochy where rag offerings are tied to a tree trunk and must not be disturbed, and must not be tied too tightly to damage the tree as again, it’s disrespectful to damage living trees. The rags must be left in place to naturally decay, they cannot be removed. Folk pray to the Gods for health mostly as the Clootie Well is a Celtic healing well (around Pictish era, so early 300’s). I’m from Contin, I grew up around these areas visiting regularly with my family, my Gran taught me about these rituals and the meanings behind them, and their histories are told on by the living generation. But yeah, the whole story makes me think of my Grans stories, of a changeling child taking place of the actual child by vengeful Faeries.

‘The Changeling’ w/ Angelina Jolie, movie, is a true story? Damn, I watched it as was fiction so once you started speaking of this, it start coming back to me. It was a hard movie to watch then but it’s going to b harder to rewatch again, knowing it was based on a real incident. It is a poetic despite tragic longing that the mother continued in her search for her son, that’s a long time to b looking. I agree, I think they r together, finally ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Omg this is just like that French con artist who pretended to be from a family from the US Midwest who had a child go missing years ago and they took him in after no one realizing the guy was like 30 but pretending to be 15. It’s the craziest story I’ve ever heard and there’s even a crazier ending. If you haven’t heard that story you absolutely need to look it up

Angelina Jolie portrays this mother in a dramatization of the story called: “The Changeling”. Such a tragedy…(not the movie; it’s pretty good actually), but the actual happening….As a mother, I know there is no more “worst case scenario” than this.

Great show guys 👍❤️‼️. Is it just me or did anyone feel bad for Arthur the runaway from Illinois? I was waiting to hear that maybe Christine, despite knowing the truth about him, would have tried to help Arthur in some way. Let me clarify, I’ll never say that I understand what a mother goes through and feels in that situation. But as a mother, it’s a natural instinct to help/rescue all children in distress. I can’t imagine what poor Arthur’s step mother did to him once returned to her

The actions of JJ Jones and modern police are not that different. To be sure, there are good people working in police departments all across America, though I have immense distrust and disdain for the institution itself, but many people are absolutely abused and wrongfully detained, charged, and convicted on the words of spiteful or vengeful police achieving goals outside of the law.
