Maybe it's just me and we have similar personalities, but I've never taken anything you have said in these videos offensively. I feel like as a plant enthusiast, I am constantly learning and that is why I watch KZbin plant videos. I don't think you have anything to apologize for. I also don't think that counseling is ever a bad thing, if you feel like that is something you would like to pursue. Keep doing your thing. You are an amazingly strong woman with an incredibly successful business who is doing what she truly loves. And what more can we really ask for in life, ya know! I know I'm jealous as hell of you! I wish you all the best!!

I was basically going to say this exact thing. With the addendum that too many people in the public eye get too concerned about packaging their content in a way that will please everyone and not ruffle feathers. We are living in an age where it's practically illegal to offend anyone and it's come to the point that even expressing an honest fact-based opinion gets labeled as "hate" or "shade". People need just to live their own lives and stop talking shit about complete strangers. Like seriously...get a hobby.

Actually I find your personality and “programmer” mind very relatable. You’re hardworking, honest, genuine and you keep it real. You clearly do your best fixing any problems that arise and that’s exactly what a good business owner does, we consistently work through challenges and problem solve. We intuitively hone the skill of analyzing, being on alert and having an eye for catching problems so we can fix them quickly. Some of us have developed this trait more than others. It’s sometimes confused with being negative but it’s not negative at all, it’s actually quite positive. And being realistic isn’t negative either, it’s very much a positive attribute to have. On the other hand, forced positivity has warped perceptions of what positivity and negativity looks like. You’re doing an amazing job and you’re a brilliant smart beautiful human being exactly as you are. We all have personal life experiences we filter through as we navigate on our path and that’s okay. I know social media can sometimes feel like we’ve got 100k bosses, if you ever feel stressed or pressured from others expectations, remember all you can do is your best, literally nothing more. Always allow yourself the freedom to continually grow and evolve but never change yourself for anyone. Love you! 💕🌱🌿

In my experience, I find that consistent criticism/hate is generally a reflection of the individual NOT the recipient. Unhappy people want to drag down others along with them. Please PLEASE don’t let it bring you down! I know I am part of a huge community of people who love you and think you’re amazing! Admittedly, I’m not great at always sharing my positive thoughts, so I promise to be better about sending positivity your way. You’re awesome, rock on!

✨VIDEO IDEA✨: Set a budget of $X amount of money💵and get started with plants. You have no plants🌱, no pot🏺, no humidifiers💧, no grow lights☀️ or anything, and you don't know a lot about plants. So what should you buy first, what's more important, which stuff can you buy more affordable and which do you have to get a more expensive version, and also what plants. I know you focus on rare plants and they're not particularly affordable, but still, you have experience in plants so I would love to see that 💜

I really like Kaylee. I love that she shares so much about the inside world of plants. Im just a consumer and I like getting good info on how to take care of my plants. As a person who works in an industry where I get hated on daily I can say that the best way to deal with hate or criticism that makes you feel badly about yourself is to respond nicely. Dont fight it just agree with it and say thank you. People call me the worst worst things and I say thank you. Whatever they try to use against me I just own it. Address it all but just keep it a simple thanks or say they call you a bitch say " Awww thanks, Ive been working on my bitch game for years, its good to hear that its paying off". The more you do this the better you will get and it will make your soul feel so much better.

@@user-ge6ku3kv7t here’s my thing... Why watch? Like I’m not being an asshole here, you clearly aren’t an asshole either, but you do NOT have to watch Kaylee. That is a choice you are making, KNOWING she might annoy you. Instead of not watching, you’re watching, criticizing someone obviously struggling with trying to please a gazillion people (most of them perfectly fine with Kaylee and how she lives her life but like you said... guess which one of those comments is “undoing” all the positives today by the way? Today it’s yours) You literally said you know you shouldn’t watch, but you feel sad about that. What you feel sad about, and I’m telling you as someone with experience with this job which I assume you do not have, correct? And as someone that actually knows Kaylee as well as one can talking online often for over a year, which I assume you do not? Is that you’re having to hear about the negative side of this job. You’re upset Kaylee, doing her best to be her best, isn’t the version you liked. Sis, people are dying. Like honestly you’re using the perils of the world to criticize what someone likes and does with their money when really that is the very reason you shouldn’t be writing novels critiquing someone you don’t know, on a channel no one is making you watch. That is entitlement my friend. I’m not trying to be a dick but you have no concept of what it’s like to put yourself out there to be picked apart by strangers that feel you owe them something. Any creator on this platform does this because they want a creative job. We sign no contracts saying anyone has to like us. Stop. Watching. People. You. Don’t. Like. I don’t care if you think I’m “enabling” someone. I am. I’m enabling her to stand up for herself. If she likes expensive shit, good for her. That’s not my thing but I don’t give a straight fuck about that. I care about the person I’m friends with that I see every fucking novel length critique of that she gets. You have NO idea. You have no idea why people do what they do or “flex” or whatever the fuck the problem of the week is. She’s a human fucking being trying to cope like every one else. Respectfully, leave her alone.

If my videos upset you this much I think its best you stop watching. Nobody said one commenter would make me "spiral". Nobody "enables" me. Nobody will ever have that level of control over me- let's not get that twisted. Hundreds of comments on here are saying that I'm not being negative I'm just not sugar coating things. It sounds like what's best for you is to only be watching KZbinrs that do sugar coat reality. But please, do not profess to know me or presume anything about me. You know nothing at all. I reccommend that you switch off recommendations for my videos (yes, you can actually do this.) It will mean that my videos won't pop up on any of your feeds anymore. All the best.

You actually sound like very a reasonable, logical and down to earth person who understands how the world works, and probably that is why you have come this far. You can be thankful for being lucky, but do not forget that you got here because of your choices - and I must say that to me, what you do seems like a very meaningful journey. When you say that you are successful, it I cannot help but feel that you are implying your job/career, but I hope that you can also see that it is way more than that. You have inspired me (if not hundreds/thousands of people) to deep-dive in the world of plants, entertained with your videos, and by opening your shop you have also shown that things are hard, but not impossible. We don't all see the world the same way, but my feeling is that your content is more positive than negative - or if I can rephrase: it inspires more good (informative, humorous, thought provocative) than hate. How we see things depends so much on our education/ background and I hope that people can see that what you do in the videos is very informative/useful. A note on prices: I "cannot" currently afford a plant from your shop, or any shop, with the price tag of 200 euro, but for me (I hope for most people who are lucky enough to live in this part of the world) that has to do with life priorities. I found the plant- designer bag analogy quite accurate. I also cannot afford a private jet, I do not go around hating. I NEVER comment, but after watching the second half of the video, how could I not. Keep things alive! You are doing it right!

🇬🇷🌻❤✌Dear Kaylee, I've been a high school teacher for many years and I have finally reached a point where I can understand human behavior. Those people who make such nasty criticism without even being aware of what they are talking about, don't hate you really...They hate themselves! They are people with very low self esteem and they feel so unworthy when they see personalities like yours. Strong, successful, creative, independent, self-assured. In one word: Charming! So they become provocative in case they attract some attention! Don't mind them girl! Keep up with your life being such a good fighter!

First off: I love that you say it like it is and yes you are very articulate about it to a level I wish I could achieve when I’m trying to constructively communicate my thoughts and opinions. Second: far too many people seem to forget that the person on the other side of their screens is a real person just like them but probably doing something they don’t think they can. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized more and more how many actions of those around me actually stem from deep seeded low self confidence and self consciousness. Third: might not mean much coming from a stranger on the other side of the world (and screen) but I’m proud of you for recognizing that you need to work on yourself and seeking out the help you need. That’s the hardest part: asking for help Love your content, love you (and the hair, it’s giving me life), stay strong, stay kind, stay yourself

I was always told that the difference between criticism and hate is that criticism is something that someone says with the intent of helping you to become a better person. Hate is something that someone says in order to tear you down and usually has no informational value. Only you can decide which category the statement falls into. I like that you are trying to help yourself and you are unashamed of it. Keep up the good work! Xoxo

I have been binge watching your videos now for a few weeks after trying to educate myself on how to be a better plant daddy and here is a snapshot of how I have been perceiving Kaylee Ellen: A person that aspires and inspires to do better. Someone that speaks with authority as they have done their homework. Someone that has clear values and is not affraid to communicate them. A courageous soul allowing herself to be voulnerable, honest and transparent - be it in regards to her personal life or this gorgeous business. I can't thank you enough for the insights I have gained in the last few weeks of a business I wasn't really aware off and being inspired to get some small plants and start learning how to cater to them the way they best require. And I would love to tell you how much I respect you as a person. Humans can be wonderful, but as well the biggest assholes by dumping their own shit on others and then walking away and leaving that innocent person with the added weight of this dump. It's not fair and you don't deserve this treatment. You are awesome and thank you for allowing us to see you.

Kaylee in the old videos was so reserved and censored (I genuinely thought you did it out of respect for a wider audience) over time I felt you blossomed, became more relaxed and started to show some of your true self. I found that refreshing. I do think you apologise too much, I don't judge you because I do the same and I feel where I'd comes from when you say it, each and every time I see something familiar in your eyes. I hope that the soul searching you say you are doing right now serves you well because no one deserves to apologise for being the fantastic them that they are and that includes you. I wish you nothing but the best on your self-discovery journey. Your videos bring me so much joy each week 😊

I own a brick and mortar plant shop in the states and I just started therapy to work through personal problems that I feel affect me as a business owner. Even though it’s early on, I definitely feel it helping! People really don’t understand the stress small business owners are under on a daily basis and it’s very hard to find people to relate to on it, so it’s really nice to get those feeling out in therapy

Do what feels right to you. You have, what you have because you are the way you are. We love your videos, your plantknowledge and your shop because you are the way you are. I honestly believe, that women who stand for something and sometimes spot the problems, before everyone else catches up to them, can be percieved as difficult or negative. And thats some bullshit... Also the social media factor doesnt make it any easier I bet. Do you - Im a hundret percent here for it!

Kaylee Ellen, you do an amazing job on keeping it real with us. I suggest the people saying you’re always negative do some sort of self-awareness as they may have that problem for themselves but put it on you. You educate yourself, share, and keep us laughing and caring and learning right along with you! Huge THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!

I swear, nothing gets under my skin more than people saying "stop apologizing so much". Like seriously, I'm the one saying sorry, which should indicate that I am trying to be empathetic towards my audience and/or struggling with self-consciousness and YOU'RE offended?!?! What difference does it make to you? How about being more understanding and not invalidating that person's hyper awareness of the potential differences in perspective. The other thing that comes out of this is when people start to try to "be gentle" and rather than say stop apologizing, they "diagnose" you. Like NO, you are not a professional, and if you are you should not be diagnosing someone through a screen, in front of an audience, without their permission. Please just be polite to those who in your opinion "over apologize" and maybe use it as a chance to self reflect and judge your behavior, not theirs. Shouldn't it be more of a concern that you are uncomfortable with someone apologizing "too much" than it is they "over apologize"? If there is genuine concern that someone's apologies are somehow damaging to them or people around them, shouldn't they be encouraged to seek help, not be shut down (preferably by friends and family, not strangers)? Honestly, Doctor Mike has a great video where he discusses the "self diagnosis" and "diagnosis" of others outside of a professional setting that everyone should listen to in his mental health seires. Rant over, just gets to me and I'm sorry you've had to deal with this!

You never need to apologize! Key point: Your channel, your business, you’re successful, and you have the right to an opinion. People think that when you become an influencer/leader that that suddenly takes away your right to feelings.

It’s so strange to feel SO PROUD of someone you’ve never met showing vulnerability and genuine personal growth but really that’s how I feel right now. You’re only human and you’re doing the best you can and I think the better part of your audience (or people who think of you as a “friend in their head” lol) can really see that and it’s coming through. Also, I LOVE hearing about the business side of things. It’s a personal interest to me and I love seeing someone talk about it with a similar passion. And last but not least, I am loving the hair! Miss Kaylee, as they would say, in the south of the United States, I observe that you are a remarkably intelligent, determined, motivated young lady. I can say “young”because I’m probably 30 years older than you. I found your KZbin channel sometime this year and really enjoy watching your content. Rather than many KZbinrs, who speak of their experience with only a few plants, I respect the comments you make because you speak based on your observations of owning and actively managing a rare plant store and that you have too numerous to count plants that you have maintained & propagated. I think you give truthful comments (rather than only glowing remarks) about house plants that I enjoy growing and propagating. You have provided me with your detailed observations about the growth habit of plants such as the ratio of leaf length to petiole length, internodal spacing, plant resilience after transplant, plant leaf thickness, textures, glossy/matte comments. I have used the information you provide to help me in decisions about what future plants to acquire and what plants I try to propagate. For all that information you give, THANK YOU! Because we are flawed humans, we cannot avoid a trauma free upbringing. Some traumas are more horrendous than others. Please know that I am not saying the above to minimize the bullying you had growing up, but rather, to set the stage for my next comment. It’s not the actual traumatic event that screws us. It’s what we say and what we believe about *ourselves* that is the enemy to target. Because much of the trauma, both traumas of commissions and traumas of omissions, happen when we are children or adolescents, the conclusions about ourselves that we end up believing as a result of the traumas are based on the natural emotional age we were when the traumas occur. To clarify, a trauma that happens when to me when I am 6 years old will result in a belief about myself based on the emotional & intellectual abilities of a 6 year older. Children 6 years old truly believe they are the center of their world, that everything that happens is because of something they are or because of something they did. As an adult who acknowledges childhood and teenaged trauma, the golden treasure is to discover what 6 year old level conclusions you made about yourself. Then, as an adult, decide if that conclusion is “adult logical”. And almost always, the conclusions are “adult illogical”. Then, from this point, as an adult, you construct a more realistic conclusion, a more realistic belief about yourself. This is only the start of the process of healing. ❤️‍🩹 Find a skilled therapist. That was the best money well spent when I was in my 30’s. In about 3 years, I was a very different person than before.

My take on how you handle criticism and hate.....you take it like a BOSS!!! Folks talk all sorts of garbage and try to sabotage you. You say "bring it. give me what you've got". You don't let it shake you and you use it to empower yourself. I've noticed you are SOOOO much more confident. You've changed how you approach situations based on criticism, and that's great. That's how someone grows! Those that don't change their approach and play the "victim card" will never grow!!! You are dedicating your life to this craft and there will always be those that try to bring you down. Keep doing what you're doing, because you're SLAYING!!!!
