I've shot a 32" grade 5 ,3/8 -3/8ths teagued choked customised mk38 sporter/trap for 15+ years. Its had thousands of rounds through it, and it's never let me down. The best bang for your buck you can get. IMO

I love my MK38 sporter 30" barrels, grade 1 with 3/8th 3/8th choke. Suits me and I'm comfortable with it which is all that matters. New in 2013. I've shot many before and tried a few after but the Miroku is always tops for me.

So glad i bought a Teague choked MK38 trap from yourselves. Had the stock extended and reshaped to suit me better (i’m 6ft 4”) and now realise it a better gun than i’ll Ever be a shooter. No reason I can foresee to change it

I am not bothered by wood or engraving so my Grade 1 suits me very well. I bought it 3 years old for £1250 and when I consider the performance , handling and sheer shooting pleasure it provides I just can’t believe how cheap they are. £ pound for £ pound they cannot be beaten

I shoot an MK 38 gd5 32" adj trap long teague use 1/2 + 1/2 S&B super trap , deadly combo. Best gun out there 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍 .Great review David.

Love my MK38, just had my G5 fitted and it's even more of a dream to shoot. It's a 30" sporter with the beavertail, fatter fore-end. The schnabel is a bit too small in the hand for me. I prefer a heavier gun and I agree they are on the heavy side even with it balanced 50/50 at the hinge pin. Shot my Dad's G3 trap whilst mine was away and still smacks clays where I point it. Lovely no-nonsense guns and the G5's are great looking as well in my opinion. It's my only 12G in the cabinet for a reason - it does everything I want while looking good in the process!

It's all very well to say "Just buy another one", not every club shooter is able to afford a "spare" gun. Not a problem for sponsored or well heeled shooters.

i live in North Idaho, and have a 30" Browning Citori built in 2000 and it looks exactly the same as the MK38. Really like the old Citori, it sure puts on a show hammering them clays. A lot of guys have to get closer and take another look at my old Citori. Didn't realize that i was buying an old Miroku with a Browning Name.

Unbeatable! I’ve had Perazzi made for me, had dt10 and dt11 and K80. Miroku is without doubt still number one for me. Current gun is 28 year old mk38 grd3 trap gun, worth almost nothing really. Would I shoot better by spending thousands more ? Nope. Been there, got the T shirt etc. Miroku, gun for life, I was told that decades ago, I ignored it. Bad move. So many championships and medals won with these guns. I should have listened to guys that knew. 😢

I had a MK38 grade 3 trap gun with 30 inch barrels. I had it teague chocked. I sold it in the autumn 2021 to buy a browning 525 lightweight. Some 22 months after selling my MK38 it was still for sale, and I decided to go and buy it back again. I should never have sold it in the first place!

My G5 mk38 trap is awesome, beautiful wood--great engraving and an incredible balance. It ousted my late father's b2g as my favourite trap gun. When i shoot badly I know with utter certainty it's all on me, not the gun.

I sold my MK38 grade 1 trap because I hated the wood. A very bad decision on my part. I shot a P B straight out of the carton. Im waiting on a new grade 5 to arrive with multi chokes and adjustable comb. my mk 10 HRT is a terrific gun to shoot and handles with beautiful balance. not unlike my perazzi's balance. another good presentation David.

Can you please explain the significant differences between the MK38 and any Browning Citori sporting shotgun?
@sidneyburroughs20 күн бұрын
Hi, great video's. I have the Miroku 38. gr5. 32''. My gun in my view is too high on the shoulder even with the comb at the lowest its not sitting like yours in the 'pocket'. And on pattern board at 40 yards is shooting high. Any advice please?

@pauljinks8480 Жыл бұрын
The new grade 3 sporter doesn’t come with flush and extended chokes, only extended. I can’t see why the barrels off a grade one would feel any different, isn’t the only difference that they don’t have the threaded hole in the mid-ribs for the little wooden pieces that make up the gap at the front of the fore-end? It is a great gun however.

You said the grade 5 and the grade 1 trap gun had a "Trap Schnabel forend" .... surely it is a beavertail forend on those guns. The sporter has the Schnabel forend.

So are the barrels for example on a beretta 694 interchangeable gun to gun? Never tried swapping parts on a mass produced shotgun. Unless some hand fitting is done I would have thought most mass produced gun should be interchangeable. Then if they dont that's not a bad thing right? Hand fitting surely is a positive thing.
@PencilProper3 ай бұрын
The barrels will not fit from 694 to 694, they need to be hand fitted.

Nice video David and team. I have an MK30 trap Grade 5 and I jst love the way it feels and moves. It is weighty but that fuller forend lends itself to a wonderfully controlled gun. I am very broad on the shoulder and muscular in the chest, arms etc but it feels so natural and apart from looking like a really good gun I love it. Nice to see that you have informed that the barells forends etc are interchangable, for some silly reason I did not realise that. What a fool be I. Anyway great vid and I would recomend the MK38 any day of the week. Cheers, looking forward to more videos...

I've been around shotguns long enough to have owned, shot, stripped and compared just about every brand under the sun past and present, for the money no gun touches a Miroku, facts are they will near run forever, and with some minor tweaks they can take you to highest levels, they aren't marketed like beretta or perazzi etc- but they will shoot as well as those guns 24/7, miroku to me are the yard stick by which others are measured, here in Aus you can get a grade 3 mk10/38 for 1500 pounds equiv, nothing touches it until you spend over twice the money here, and i've never shot a gun that did anything better
@jamie3499 Жыл бұрын
What I’m your view is it that makes a Miroku better than it’s Browning equivalent?
@MR12GAUGE Жыл бұрын
@@jamie3499 for starters the price gap, For the price of a base citori/525 you can get an adjustable grade 3 Miroku, for the price of a grade 5 Miroku you get a grade 3 Browning, Miroku has better stock dimensions starting on lower grade guns- more cast/palm swells - features you don't get in Browning until a certain price point, Browning also cuts more costs where they can- recycled steel on certain models barrels, and then there is the elephant in the room- Miroku makes the guns, so it's pretty safe to say they try to out do the browning stamped guns- like how nikko did vs winchester 101, don't get me wrong Browning are good guns, and they come with more accessories but gun to gun Miroku is better

Good luck wearing one out, they balance great out of the box, poi/poa is excellent, hand finished to a high standard, a gun that lasts a lifetime and can shoot/handle it's way to podiums for basically peanuts- overrated in what way? a cg/perazzi/dt11 that costs 2-10x the price won't do anything it can't do, dollar to dollar what touches an mk38/mk10?
