It's so refreshing to find an aquaculturist who can pronounce botanical names! Some other people just give up any attempt to use these wonderful species names. They're really not that difficult; it's more a case of being self-convinced that they are hard. It's really a lack of patience to actually break these names down to their syllables. Then they are very easy to pronounce.

Good job as usual , i think Betta will stay better in a covered aquarium for the warm and humid air that he will breath , from another hand he was amazingly nice in the small cube as protagonist. I love Tommy 💕 Getting great hardscape material is very difficult in my local (US)shops. Mailorder is very $$$, especially stones. Most of the wood I use is grapevine and mopani. That said, I've learned SO much from you and even with 'junk' hardscape I can make a beautiful tank. Thank you. 👍

You need 10gallons for just 1 pea puffer, then 3 gallons for each extra puffer or else they'll kill each other. Maybe he could just get 1 and thatd be fine, but it's to small for anymore

Love you aquascapes and you are so calm when you do videos...its very relaxing. Make sure to have calm flow from the filter. Bettas love almost no pump att all. And you should prabably file down the edges of the wood becuse bettas fins are very thin and can esely be punctured by sharp edges:)

I have 10 Bettas. Three are living in a community setting and are fine. Not all Bettas are community adaptable; I found this out after my first Betta killed a couple of his white cloud minnow tank mates. The Bettas I have in community tanks are all in 20 gallons are larger. As long as Nimrod is not killing his tank mates and his tank mates are not nipping his fins, then I would leave him in the larger tank. He looks gorgeous against the planted background in the Flex. I like nano fish more than I do shrimp, but either would look great in Nimrod's old home. I love the boraras brigittae (chili rasboras). They have gorgeous coloration. The hardscape in the new set up is awesome. I love the shape of the wood pieces. I will admit I was wondering how long you were going to leave that ugly heater in the tank before you figured out something else. I want to try an Oase. Putting the heater within the canister filter is a long overdue addition. Keep on scaping!

I would leave Nimrod with the other fish. In the 300 cube I’d probably add either Emerald Rasbora, or Celestial Pearl Danios. The blues and oranges would look great contrasting with the dark green Anubias, and brown wood/ substrate. Another option might be a group of Sparkling Pygmy Gourami, but just because they’re awesome, and should sing (croak) to one another if they’re comfortable enough. 💚
@freddiechapman73125 жыл бұрын
I think orange colours would look cool. Perhaps a group of Pseudomugil Luminatus if you could find them. If not some Ember Tetras would work or maybe a Pea Puffer. It's a small tank, but I think that they would be fine. I had a group of 13 Lampeyes in a 35cm Cube quarantine and they seemed happy.

If the tank is still up a year and half later, I have 3 suggestions: 1) A small school of all male Black bar Endlers, I love them for being small and having eye catching orange, black and green, complement and contrast the colors in the tank. 2) Sparkling Gouramis, A bit bigger. Their coloring not clashing with everything but do pop/ sparkle in a subtle way. 3) Pygmy Rasbora, one of the smallest fish there is. Their color, khaki clay with a few black dots for detail, not super exciting. But, for me it is how they truely school tightly together ever in a nano not much bigger than 3 gallons, that captures my attention. I think a school 6-9 would do nicely.

How about leaving Nimrod in the larger tank and trying scarlet badis in the nano, George? They have so much personality for a tiny fish. It would be fun to go with micropredators in your lovely new nano-scape & to watch them constantly hunting their tiny territory. :) Or maybe a little group of ruby tetras? Being micropredators as well, they can be more fun to watch in a small space than most tetras, I think.

Your question is a hard question George. NimRode would look great in the new scape. He would pop againt the dark colors of the wood as well as the plant you slected for the tank. @@GeorgeFarmerStudios Hey George, could I ask for a plant recommendation? I have a 35cm cube, running lowish LED light, nutrient rich substrate capped with gravel and currently no CO2, dosing daily aquascaper complete ferts. Mix of crypts, java fern and anubias. I'd like a low maintenance background plant to give some height and structure. I was thinking Bolbitis but worried it might be a bit big and ungainly.
