Here's a little TIP from my kitchen-to-yours: When working with flipping Doughnuts...try using a wooden or heat-resistant CHOPSTICK! Simply insert in the DONUT HOLE and the Donut will gravitate to it, THEN FLIP it over (this will save you from having to use TWO utensils to get the job done! ;-D It's also easy to take them out of the hot oil when utilizing the CHOPSTICK. Additionally, if you have a clean coffee mug holder...it's great for hanging your donuts on, this helps prevent the oil from making them too "heavy & greasy"...and since the coffee cup/mug rack is VERTICLE it doesn't take up a lot of precious space when you're making a lot of Donuts! We tend to use GRAPESEED OIL due to the way it cooks yeast-risen dough, but, Vegetable is also great, along with canola oil. Usually, we prefer to use the GRAPESEED OIL when deep frying pastries such as CROINUTS (Croissant-Doughnut hybrid)! lol You can also place the Doughnuts back onto the coffee cup/mug rack after dipping them in the glaze. It helps to "evenly" coat them (on both sides at ONE TIME! *JUST BE SURE TO PLACE A PIECE OF PARCHMENT or WAX PAPER underneath to catch any access icing or delicate sanding sugar & Cinnamon, Vanilla Powder (sugar), etc. Chef, If you are getting that PALE yellowish-white RING around your doughnuts...then you have MASTERED doughnut making! That is what we LOOK for in a properly fried Doughnut.😀 Thank you so much for sharing your recipe... and REMINDING the viewers about the IMPORTANCE of letting that yeast bloom! EXCELLENT TIP, CHEF!!! YOU SUPER ROCK IN THE KITCHEN!!! ;-D Bon Appetit!- Retired Bakers & Confectioners of Yesterday DAYS OF 'OLE

3:09, I noticed that sometimes the dough hook takes a little bit longer to gather all the dry ingredients with the wet ones plus the dough hook doesn’t get the dry ingredients that climbs to the sides of the bowl, (it happens to me a lot) I like to start with the flat beater to mix them together and then, I switch over to the dough hook. Just a tip to help the mixer get the job done.

Back in 2004 I hired on to a welding shop. When I went to my first shop safety meeting I commented on the lack of donuts. Safety director asked what the H does a donut have to do with safety. I replied, with the wages this place pays, it's pretty hard to concentrate on safety when all you can think about is where your next donut is coming from. Next meeting we all had Krispy Kreme donuts.

I used my friend's mixer/shaker metal top to make my doughnuts. It was perfect for both the doughnut and doughnut hole! These doughnuts turned out great and was super easy to make. I ended up making a lemon vanilla icing (lemon zest, vanilla extract) , a chocolate icing (using about a tablespoon of cocoa powder) and I made a raspberry filling but used it as a dip since I don't own piping bags/tips. They were a hit with my roommates! Gone in about 10 minutes!

Brought back memories of my childhood back in the fifties. Mom was always making home made bread. Sometimes she'd make extra dough. Back then mom had a biscuit cutter but it had a doughnut insert that twisted into the biscuit cutter. We'd cut the doughnuts out of the bread dough and fry them. Then while they were still hot we'd sprinkle sugar over them. I don't know if glazed doughnuts even existed back then but I'd never seen one. These were one of my favorite treats.

As someone who suffers from lacking a Krispy Kreme in my area, this recipe is a blessing. 🤤
@darlenebradley675611 ай бұрын
Sometimes, when you first dump out the dough ball after that first rise, you'll have an easier time rolling the dough out if you let it rest for a few minutes. It won't give you so many issues trying to shrink back. I bake a lot of bread and always let my dough rest on the counter after dumping it out after the final proof before rolling it out for the bread pan. Love Krispy Kreme donuts, warm off the conveyor! My kids used to love it when I would get them out of bed and take them to our local Krispy Kreme for the 11:00 pm run! I took them in their pj's! (Of course, this was only when there was no school the next day.) Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for the recipe. I added vanilla extract to my glaze. You can add orange extract, or run extract, or teaberry extract, any extract. PS: don't worry about using milk. Warm water makes absolutely perfect donuts. And anytime you're using yeast to make bread product you can always exchange the milk for water if the recipe says milk and you don't want to use up your milk, or you don't have any milk on hand at the moment, then use warm water it will work out absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks man, I just happened to know that the glaze doughnut is made of sugar powder and mild. This opened my horizon of doughnut toppings. Thanks alot

From what I understand to activate the yeast, it takes sugar. So just use milk, which has lactose. let it sit at room temp. it may get active around a day or so. But if temperature raising helps by all means do it.

Yum! I love a good copycat recipe! I recently perfected the Chick-Fil-A cookie recipe and my life has never been the same! 🤣🤣

@@kelseyrodgers394 sure! It’s on my channel. First video I ever posted! There’s also another video on my channel called “Better than chick fil a cookies.” It’s the same recipe but 2 things: 1, it’s a quicker video because my kids aren’t “helping” me in it. And 2, I realized that they are not as good as chick fil a cookies. They’re BETTER! Hope you enjoy!

This is the best cooking video I've ever seen ! Keep making these videos please. Maybe biscuits next. You make it look so simple. Thanks.

Great video! The only thing I would've done differently is add a little vanilla flavor to my glaze. Overall, great video!

I LOVE Krispy Kreme donuts - thank you!! Just a quick note: my KitchenAid mixer like yours said to keep the speed setting no higher than #2 when using the dough hook. I LOVE you recipes and have made several of them since I found you a couple of months ago.

Man you are my favorite cook, chef now AB! I made your bbq meatloaf, your banana pudding, breakfast casserole and about five other dishes and they all turned out superb! Who needs Fieri and Ramsey.

YES!!! Thank you!! That's what is missing from every copycat recipe I've found. And it's key to tasting as close to a KK as possible

This sounds really good. The only thing is Krispy Kreme donuts have always tasted like an air filled sugar shell to me. These look like real donuts, and I can't wait to try them.

I hate Krispy Kreme donuts because they're way too damn sweet. It's disgusting.
