I really needed this as I am 2 days away from 2 months of sobriety. My best friend is getting married in a couple of weeks. It’s going to be a very small intimate wedding and I know she is passing out marijuana joints to everyone there, who most likely all smoke. My addiction brain has already tried to tell myself I can smoke once but I know for a fact that I cannot do that. Earlier this year I relapsed after 3 months of sobriety, telling myself I could smoke once for a friends birthday. I need to stop using these big events as an excuse to relapse. I love the way I feel sober. I will NOT succumb this time!

I’m on day 3 no weed and I recently quit vaping 3 months ago. The physical withdrawal symptoms kinda blindsided me. I didn’t expect to have the sweats at night. Nicotine is definitely more emotional than physical. Like, nicotine cravings are worse, but my body is so dependent on weed, it’s going to be a lengthy detox process.

I recently relapsed after about 6 months of not smoking. I thought I could smoke one evening and that’s it but no it lasted 2 and half weeks and my mental health was the worsts it’s ever been. I’m now 5 days sober and feeling grateful for the relapse as it taught me so much of who I don’t want to be. It also really showed me the truth of how dangerous this substance can be. Hey Dr Frank, I am about to start my 4th week weed free, just having the hardest time emotionally, anxiety through the roof, as well as all the physical conditions, I basically feel like I have flu. Last week I got COVID and stayed off work just tested negative so going back to work tonight, I work 3 different shifts so thats hard to deal with whilst going through this........the emotional and anxiety problems are the hardest for me, I have no desire to smoke weed at all my desire is to just get through this and feel NORMAL again....I am hoping at the end of this week (which will be a month weed free) I will feel a whole lot different. Just to say I am 51 and smoked everyday for the last 3 or 4 years, no joints or tobacco, I would just vape, not oil, just dry herb, morning, noon and night, used it to sleep and didn't think it was a bog deal, but it was, I was just stoned all the time, thought about my next hit all the time and was just living in a dream world, headphones plugged in and miles away from real life in my mind....it was a big comforter. Anyway as I said I am beginning my 4th week and feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster, oh and the dreams are just insane and intense and worrisome, all I do is try to tell myself its just withdrawal, it will be over soon....everything is intensified, the world and its problems, the war and fear of it escalating, just everything feels awful, also had help by getting into spirituality, you should consider it, getting spiritual is a help, I feel lost and this helps to support you.

@@paigebaker9302 hey hope your coping ok, I have done a full month now and on to week 5, I feel a lot better, still some intense dreams but not every night, night sweats have gone completely....my anxiety has calmed down I still get a bit anxious but compared to a few weeks ago I am not anything like as bad.......one thing I have found a struggle is boredom, like you have this hole that needs filling where you use to smoke weed, so I thought ok, I will maybe have a few beers but I found that by the time I was onto my 3rd beer I would become anxious again, also my neck would get really hot, like I was having a reaction to the alcohol, I mean I don't know if that's related to the weed, or maybe after COVID, I am convinced I have long COVID, I have tested negative, but I don't feel 100%, very strange ....but without a doubt drinking seems to set my anxiety off....I think I have just got to the stage in life where I'm probably better off stone cold sober.....but yeah, it's just combating boredom and filling that empty hole where getting high use to reside.....I do feel a lot better tho, if your on day 9 and having anxiety or any other kind of problems like painful aches and pains once in a while, or another ththing I had was intense headaches....just try to get through it and give yourself a month, a month is a good thing to aim for , even week 3 you should notice some improvement but a month should be a turnaround point and you should feel a whole lot better, not cured so to speak but a lot more like yourself....just always think it's just withdrawal for the coming weeks, it's hard and at times you will think jeezus it was just weed, but I think some people (me included) just shouldn't smoke weed, at least that's how it seems to me. 😉🙂

Tomorrow marks 5 weeks without smoking. The first 3 days sucked balls but I feel amazing now. I still get urges from time to time especially around friends I used to smoke with or places I used to smoke at, Even activities I used to do while high. The biggest change I noticed is just overall having much more energy and motivation to do stuff, even little things. I recently took a trip to Florida and drove 18 hours. Never did I think I could take a trip like that without being blazed lol but I actually really enjoyed it. You have been my main help and everything you tell us is amazing motivation to JUST KEEP PUSHING ! Thank you Dr Frank

Coming back to this post bc i feel like a shithead lol. Made it 8 months without smoking and then slowly weezled my way back into daily smoking for about 7 months. Makes me sick i would be closing in on 2 years clean but i slipped up. today is 2 weeks clean from weed again and this is the easiest it’s ever been. i’ve gone through this learning experience and now i’ve learned from my mistakes even more. This time around i have a beautiful girlfriend to aid me thru this and i feel like i did her a disservice by starting smoking again and she made it real easy for me to choose, weed or her. I’ve been spending a lot more quality time with her and not always trying to make time for smoking and chilling playing video games etc. i can tell just from the past 10 days i have been much more reliable and trustworthy. i’m an all in or all out kind of guy and i’m glad i was able to learn that now before i really start getting stuck in a terrible rut. I believe weed has its benefits to people who need it, but i am not one of them. Being genuinely tired at the end of the day after working hard and falling asleep with no aid from pot and having and remembering dreams is something i missed a ton from my first long stint.
@tim7531

Also want to mention as of March last year while i wasn’t smoking i weighed 165 pounds. i’m a 6 foot tall male and have always been on the thinner side but im down about 15 pounds since starting to smoke again. idk if it’s that i quit zyns and started to dip moderately again because of the constant urge to have a zyn in my mouth instead of the occasional dip while im working or whatever the case is. i have on average around 4 dips a day throughout the day vs 8-12 pouches all day long. my appetite is back and i can already feel my body craving food and protein as opposed to weed and nicotine. Thank you for all you do Dr Frank. Old video, old post, you probably won’t see this but you seriously are a huge influence on a lot of us trying to better ourselves. It’s also insane to see how much your channel has grown over the years and it’s awesome to read the comments and see how many people you are able to help. I experienced all the withdrawals, and wow was it the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Still not over, I’m on day 5 and thankfully the fever, headaches, body aches, and cold sweats have subsided. But still have no appetite and feeling nauseous and very anxious. I did relapse yesterday by hitting a joint but it just made me feel dizzy and didn’t help my appetite like I thought it would. I’m really hoping the nausea will go away within the next day or 2, and that my appetite will return because I have hardly ate anything and it’s just making my tummy hurt more!! I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. For anyone reading this and going through the same thing… you’re not alone, I promise. And you WILL get through this, just like I will. Think about how excited you are to be completely sober! It’s going to feel so good!
