It's easy to criticise the work these guys do, but they're doing the best they can with the tools they have and the skills that were handed down to them or that they self learned they've never been to a trade school and had their techniques tested to pass a minimum grade. In our throwaway western world that axle housing would have been junked and replaced but they can't afford to do that they have to fix things the best they can. And half the people criticising them in the comment's have never done anything like this level of repair work and are just parroting other people's comments.
@johndoe19094 ай бұрын
true. and throwing it away and grind it down as scrap would actually be the right and rational way to handle it. as you say, they don't have the option, so they work with what they have, but it's neither safe in the road, nor safe to do nor economically defensible in any society that values life and actual pay for work. it's more a desperation thing.

Snap-On is strange. We had a mechanic burn the end of a very expensive screwdriver. They don't repair electrical damage so we froze it with dry ice and snapped the shaft. Young mechanic said he already bought another one just throw it away. I got the dealer to put a new blade in the handle and showed him the handle was cracked. "We don't replace tools, just repairs." Next visit he put a new handle on my new blade.
