Yhwach confirmed in the latest episode that his father had a better almighty and foresaw the entire Bleach story up until his death. So he undoubtedly went through with the separation for a personal benefit we don’t know of. Something, somewhere, sometime. In other words, nobody betrayed him in the sense of a crime. He knew the noble ancestors would mutilate him. Yhwach is just trying to make his reasons more justifiable in front of Ichigo.

it’s chapter 127 and it’s called “the beginning of the death of tomorrow” alluding to Ywachs future death and hinting at the abilities Ichigo will have to face. Zangetsu says verbatim “only one of them is the real me, I can only be defeated by that sword, if you want me to submit find it before I kill you and cut me down.” Yoruichi even lets Zangetsu choose this method of training. @R7dman Here's my theory. Yhwach was originally Adnyeus' son and went under a different name. He had no original mother as Adnyeus brought him to life using his omnipotence. Yhwach was originally a perfect hybrid of all races like his father until he went through the cycle of rebirth from the triplet world ritual. Based off of the opening in ep 1 of cour 2, he was then birthed from a woman based off of the Virgin Mary, who in Christian culture gave birth to Jesus. Being born with no power to live autonomously due to Ichibe's black, he used what we now know as the Auswahlen to take back the power that he initially shared with others to undo the condition. Having went through the cycle of rebirth, Yhwach lost all connections to Adnyeus except for an incomplete Almighty (This means that Yhwach is no longer a hybrid of all of the races like his father, which justifies why he needed Ichigo to kill the soul king in the future). He would then go on to make the quincy race and become the father of all quincies. During the time of the quincy empire, Yhwach had no knowledge of the soul king being his father, nor knowledge of the true intent behind the "triplet world" ritual and what happened to the soul king after. All he knew was that the soul king split the primordial world into three realms and separated life from death. I believe however that Yhwach knew that he was missing important details of what happened back then (maybe due to Yhwach altering his memories), and that led to him questioning Ichibe in the opening of ep 11 of cour 2. Ichibe would then show him the context he was missing in the process of sealing Yhwach's incomplete Almighty. This would then lead Yhwach down the path of killing the soul king to end his everlasting humiliation and returning the world back to what it once was, a place without concepts of "life" or "death." This provides an explanation of why the conflict between the quincies and soul reapers happened in the first place. The soul reapers knew that quincies were a threat to the "balance" of life and death, and the quincies wanted to completely remove that balance and return to what the world was once like before the separation. This would then lead to him and his forces being defeated 1000 years ago and Yhwach being sealed away. This also gives context for Yhwach having gripes against his father for forsaking the quincy because Yhwach knew that Adnyeus saw the fate of the quincies in the future with his complete Almighty but still went through the triplet world process.

so i have a theory/interpretaition about the scene at the start of episode 28 the thing that struck out to me in the sequence is the part where yhwach get's submerged in the vast sea of water because where else have we seen a similar motive used in the story? Ichigo's inner world. And who specifically is this motive associated with? Old man Zangetsu aka the mannifestaition of Ichigo's Quincy powers. I think there is atleast a possibility what Kubo is hinting at is that much like old man Zangetsu is the manifestaition of Ichigo's Quincy power's Yhwach might originally have beem the manifestaition of the Soul King's Qunicy powers that was ripped out of him upon the original Sin and reborn into the new world. This could fit neatly into the cyclical nature of Bleach's narrative aswell as explain why the world of Bleach seems to outright reject the Qunicy. You can also use this for the Basis of a somewhat crack theory about a certain Hollow in CFYOW but i think that would be a much weaker theory

So about the chant and gold being there (not sure about the entire thing though), my hypothesis of why it's there is because "in alchemy, depending on which alchemists you talk to, there can be 3, 4, 7, 12, 14 or more steps to produce the philosopher's stone. If we go with the 7 step process, the prima materia (first matter) obviously signifies the first step. What must also be noted is that the 7 step process proceeded in conjunction with our solar system at the time along with the metals those planets represented. In the 7 step program, the first step represented the planet Saturn and the metal lead and the hope here is that by step 7, that saturn would transmute into the sun, the lead into gold, and the prima materia into the philosopher's stone." (from Max Derrat's youtube video titled "Who Father REALLY Is - An Actual Alchemist Analyzes Fullmetal Alchemist" ) and the philosopher's stone would give eternal life so yeah I think that's why it's there. The spell resurrected the fallen by taking from the others and giving it to them

i did a bit of digging and i found articles and archeological texts about mummies in egypt having ''tongues of gold'' to help the dead talk before osiris ''the god of the underworld and judge of the dead'' , this could be related to what yhwach is saying . as for skull cups , there is something called a ''kapala'' which is a skull cup used in hindu/tibetan buddhist tantra , using tantras supposedly helps one achieve a transcendental state of mind in the shortest time possible and can be a libation to win the gods favor . i don't know how to tie this to yhwach but it's pretty interesting

If I were to guess, based off the description of the kapala, it's supposed to represent a form of "enlightenment" for the Schutzstaffel proceeding the Auswählen, where they gain strength and power taken from the Quincy sacrificed for the process. A few other things to note regarding this, usually the kapala is carried by the many deities in Vajrayana Buddhism in their left hand, and during the chant, Yhwach held the emblem with his left hand. Not sure if that says anything. And also, while it's referring to the first comment more, it's interesting looking at how Yhwach is kind of doing something similar to what Aizen did and get more power from a specific source. For Aizen it was the Hogyoku, a philosopher's stone basically, and for Yhwach, it was taking the power of the Quincy to gain power or if you look at it from a certain angle, it's Yhwach's own sort of form of enlightenment/achieving higher power. That's what I can gather from it thus far.

I have a few theories about Yhwach in the flashback scenes, along with possibly why he was a Quincy when Adnyeus was "all" beings. I'll start with my first theory, but I'll put a TL;DR at the bottom: Yhwach isn't actually present in the world itself, but he is baring witness to what the world once was as a whole. Through The Almighty, it would lend credence to being able to have these moments of reflection. But I believe it may even go deeper than that. Which, if true, is absolutely kinda fucky so I ask you all bear with me here. The Reio did not have a son, but instead created a being himself which could enter into the new world and live as a man. Yhwach is, by all accounts, a Christ figure. In a sense it could be that Kubo is taking the direct correlation of Jesus being God, but also being the son of god into his own narrative. Now, as to explain as to why exactly Yhwach, being son of the Soul King is only considered a Quincy, that is going to go on to the second part of my theory. Adyneus, in order to create the triplet world that we currently know of today, separated the part of himself which was a Quincy which gave birth to Yhwach. In doing so, it would explain HOW Yhwach saw the sundering of the Primordial Sea and solidify the idea that they didn't fit into the mix. If you consider that Yhwach never gains the 4th eye of his Almighty, it could signify that he, the Reio reborn, would no longer have that third eye. Each eye representing the races. One Human, One Soul, One Hollow, and One for the Quincy. If he was to remove that part of himself, essentially forsaking the Quincy from the cycle he now intended to create, Yhwach, the vestige of the soul king that he forsook long ago, sees Reio as his father and feels shame that the Reio cast aside the Quincy part of his soul in order to establish a new order. They have outlived their purpose, they don't fit into the new cycle and for this reason Yhwach is both angered, and hurt that the being that birthed him into existence only did so because he decided to cast that piece of him aside. TL:DR Yhwach is actually just a reincarnation of the Soul King, a literal Christ figure. Born of the Soul King casting aside his Quincy heritage to create the world as we know it. Yhwach is created because Adnyeus is able to split his soul, like Starrk did with Lilinet

Ofc I might be wrong, but I believe the flashback at the start of EP 28 is the spirital pressure that Yhwach puts inside the sword, an amalgamation of memories from his perspective, the memories of the quincy blood that later resonate with Ichigo to kill the Reio. That's why it ends with Ichigo, as it's targeted towards him, and why Ichigo feels it. Deffo think it will be expanded upon later.

the Aushwallen incantation got me wondering if the tongue of the soul king has relevance somewhere, after all the tongue/ voice is besides written word how most Prophesy is transmitted to others in historical religions, and people being given knowledge about the future can influence the future. Thus ensuring even a being that's sealed can influence events from across time, to ensure they are released from their torment while also making sure a new linchpin was there to take his place. never considered the relevance of a prophets(the soul kings) tongue until the soul king's name (with its religious connotations) reveal made the Aushwallen chant even more symbo;icly relevant. wonder if his tongue was also removed to keep him from influencing anyone and ended it up somewhere/ in someone....... perhaps someone that later in life has a career centered around communication.

Perhaps the Quincies existed in some form in the primordial world and Yhwach was created/born from Adyneus to fight the primordial Hollows and share his powers. But Adnyeus grew to be disgusted by the idea of completely exterminating Hollows, and split the worlds so Humans and Hollows could both live in their own safe places. The Soul King's forsaking of the Quincies is thus not just the submission to the noble families, but the very splitting of the worlds - Yhwach and those he shared his powers with were stripped of their original purpose and had no place in the newly created worlds, which would collapse if they use their powers.

So did I. He only ever came to be Yhwach because ancient humans thought of him to be Jesus Christ. But since episode 28 more people seem to believe that he already existed in the primordial world and was thrown into the cycle of rebirth without any prior knowledge. So he was a blank slate again. In other words, there was a man like him who led a different life. Personally I don’t believe this since Yhwach still is under the impression that Adnyeus abandoned the Quincies for some lofty ideas.

I think as a baby he had The Almighty and wasn't physically with his father, but shared Omnipotence with him so they could both "see" that space. I don’t believe so, because we see in the flashback in TYBW (episode 27) that Ichibei took the almighty from him & Yhwach took the soul kings left arm (Pernida) I believe Yhwach is the consciousness of the original world, meaning that once the world’s were split he lost everything & all of his power, him being the black baby could be evidence of that. Plus Yhwach fears the idea of death & returning to nothingness like he once was so to free himself he must return the world to its previous form.

Another realization: Thematically Quincy vs. Shinigami parallels or metaphors Church attempts to christianize Japan. Supporters of defeating death (Christians) perished against supporters of the incarnation cycle (Shinigami). The inspiration is obvious because Christians were a minority and they were slaughtered on a mass scale after a short time of existing in the archipelago. It's awesome, but also to some degree, it's lazy writing.

"Yhwach predates the current million year old world." -- factually false and frankly breaks the manga's own theme of how each villain's power is larlgey built on illusion, perception and false premises. And Ichigo's role in the narrative has always been to break those illusions. Every single villain has a lie they believe about themselves or the world, each of which is proven false/incorrect and ultimately leads to their defeat. Yet suddenly, in the eleventh hour in the final arc, we're expected to believe the last one's telling the truth? No. In the manga, the only real source of truth for this story, the whole 'son of the Soul King' is a bit. A part Yhwach plays as a means to an end. Which is why he feels nothing when questioned by Yugram when they arrive at the SK's palace. He genuinely feels nothing. He has no connection to the place. The only thing Yhwach wants is the SK dead and the old world restored because he has a romantisied idea of a world without death. Theoretically a world where he doesn't get indigestion from eating souls, failing to consider or care that world was total chaos, and the new one was built for many reasons, that being chief among them. Yhwach the individual has only existed for 1200 years at most. That includs the 999 he spent in suspended animation, the time he'd spent gathering an army and initiating the first shinigami/quincy war. He is essentially a mutation of what Yugram is; a giver type Quincy who bestows power. But Yhwach's mutation causes his to function closer to parasitic vampirism than an Xp booster. As a result, in addition to his personal war against heaven Yhwach spent 200 years conquering, converting or enslaving the Quincy with his blood to supply himself with an endless tithe to keep away the infinite dark, because like any vampire, he is forever thirsty and wanting more. (Side note: In all likelihood, the Almighty Yhwach is wielding might not even be his. It probably belongs to a Quincy soul he devoured to stave off his own degradation in his first years of life. Perhaps it belonged to the original Quincy leader usurped and killed in his conquest. Or more likely, it belonged to a mixed blood Quincy he absorbed after his long slumber with Auswahlen. I think the latter case is most likely, since in the manga he parades it around like showing off a shiny new trump card against Ichibei. Also neatly explaining why he's so unfamiliar with its functions; it intrinsically does not belong to him.) Another point is Yhwach was widely considered a plague upon the species due to his conquest, which we see in Bazz-B's flashbacks. Yhwach wanted to enslave and corral his soul nugget tithes in one nice neat little pen and wanted no one to threaten his reign. To avoid threats to his power, Yhwach instituted the cull on other giver-type Quincy at birth. As for ones who miss his gaze, like Yugram, he weaves a narrative about them being Yhwach's other half, extensions of his will. Thus they are elevated to positions of power in his cult empire, with the dual purpose of making it difficult to openly defy or betray him without severe consequence. This is also why he paints a false narrative of Uryuu being the only mixed blood survivor of Auswahlen to the Vanderrich; despite Ichigo, Yuzu and Karin existing. It explains why he wanted Ichigo brainwashed and later eliminated with a bounty on his head, one so great all Sternritter quit their fields of battle to bum-rush Ichigo in an attempt to take the bounty. Yhwach is deliberately setting up his pawns to eliminate threats to his power, his narrative and *his* status quo. The Quincy follow Yhwach because they have no choice; serve or die. Given the opportunity, they'd gladly betray him if they knew they could stand a chance at winning. As mixed bloods unaffected by Auswahlen for differing reasons; Ichigo, Uryuu, Yuzu and Karin all represent an existence outside Yhwach's tyranny. They represent a world Quincy could escape to and undermine Yhwach's authority. If that fact is ever discovered, as far as the Kurosaki siblings are concerned, they would become a rallying cry for rebellion. Like Aizen, Ginjo, Ichibei and even Kisuke before him, Yhwach is a conman and a grifter. One so good he deceived a species into becoming his blood cursed slaves. So good he deceived the entire reader base into believing he is the legit son of the Soul King, when in fact, he's a mutant freak who lucked-then-conquered his way into power and only gained so much and became that much of a threat because he cannibalised his own progenitors to do it. The anime at this point is hard AU. Its not canon.

Kubo's involvement in the anime is only slightly above JK Rowling on twitter pulling rubbish about Harry Potter years after the story's concluded. If Kubo wants this to be canon, create Bleach 2.0 as a manga or write a new story.

Even prior to this, he had aluded to certain plot points, such as Rangiku's importance to the story in the final arc, which never came to fruition, meaning he didn't manage to write everything he wanted.
