I’m new to the roofing business, well, sales in general. Haven’t even hit the field yet, because of the snow storms recently. So, I haven’t been able to put into action what I’ve learned from you and my trainers, but I gotta say, I love your energy, man. Seems trustworthy, and honest. I can see why you make the sales you have

YES YES YES! That's an incredible habit to build dude. Thanks for sharing that. It's the important things -- GET OUT of the truck and put your knuckles on the first door. One cool thing you can do is get a group chat going with some fellow sales people on your team. ACCOUNTABILITY: Send a picture of your knuckles on the first door :) Get the whole gang doing it. It's fun and will hold you accountable.

Great video Adam! I’m starting this practice today! I’m newer to sales. We’ve only been in it for just over a month now, on my own. But just getting out and knocking doors has done wonders for my level of self esteem and thickening up my skin! I can actually talk to people now and I see the benefits forming already! Have a great New Year’s and keep these gold videos coming!

Would it be a bad idea to put the Amazon link for the journal in the description below? I like that one you have with the band around it, I lose pens all the time.
@TheRoofStrategist3 жыл бұрын
That's a GREAT idea! Here's the journal I use (and the one in the video). I order 3 packs because I go through 1 every ~30 days or so. I am starting to date them and keep them in a file storage in the closet of my office. That way I can reflect back on where I was, where I am now, and see the progress. It's super fun and rewarding. www.amazon.com/dp/B0991QWHL2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

Good morning Adam. I just watched your video for how to be successful for the year. My questions are as follows. My numbers tend to stay the same and I cannot increase my income. Plus I’m wondering what’s the best hail app to use to help be alerted right away when there’s an area that got hit. I’m trying my best to take care of my son who has autism at age 7. One income family. Sure could use the help. I'm out in North Carolina.
@TheRoofStrategist3 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt - thanks for the comment. A few things. First - we need to get to the bottom of WHY you cannot increase your income. I would look back on your year and diagnose the situation. Remember the Roofing Sales Success Formula. The "BE.DO.SAY." Getting the right person (that's you). Doing the right sales activities every day. Saying the right thing when you pitch, overcome objections, and close. You need to find out where the sticking point is. Do you follow a DAILY sales plan? Are you consistent? Are you working a system? Do you know what you NEED to be doing every day? Are you systematically working your installs, neighborhoods, and referrals? IF No -- you need to focus here. My SALES Strategy can help should you be interested. IF you already ace this... move on. Are you getting on enough roofs? If NO -- work on your pitch at the door so you can convert more knocks --> getting on roofs. My CANVASSING Strategy can help. Are you CLOSING sales as often as you should be? If NO -- work on your presentations and closing skills. Also take a hard look at what's holding you back. If it's objections, look there. My programs the CLOSING and OBJECTION Strategy could help. Along with tons of free videos here on KZbin. The point is - you need to pinpoint the sticking point and focus on SMALL fixes for big rewards. Hail Maps? Look at Hail Trace. Be well and Happy New Year!! Wishing you all the best :)

Matt, I’m curious. Could you tell me what a typical day look like? Sales is very systematic but at some point you reach a point where you start running out of day light. What do you do daily to keep your numbers where they are at?
@mattleonard46203 жыл бұрын
I get up and head out to my referrals everyday. I door knock if I see damage in the area. I follow up with old customers to see if they have more referrals for me. I think the main problem is to much windshield time. Would like to get a lot of customers. I want to build a legacy for my son with Autism.

@@mattleonard4620 Windshield time is a killer. Watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqC4qZqhm7GGmsU
@craigjones8913 жыл бұрын
@@mattleonard4620 I’m with you bro. I’m sure you probably do something similar to what I’m about to say, but I find it helpful to stay in one neighborhood all month. I knock every door until they answer. Once I get 5-10 in a neighborhood I’ll go to one close by to do the same thing. For example: I’m in one neighborhood now and one across the street. I bounce back and forth giving each neighborhood a little time to cool down with me knocking. Some neighborhoods I can’t get out of now because everyone knows who I am. That cuts down on my windshield time a ton and helps generate more business with almost a brand type of effect on myself.

Hi! Last week I started reading Gap Selling and Spin selling and I see some alignment between the things you teach here and what they each wrote/found in their research of successful salespeople. I was wondering if there are any books you think align better to roofing sales.
@TheRoofStrategist3 жыл бұрын
Love the fact that you're reading a lot! Honestly man - all sales books must be adapted to the unique sales process in the roofing world. Study up on all that you can. There's gems to learn in every book. Then you just have to experiment and adapt. I prepared this recommended reading list you can check out here (free): docs.google.com/document/d/10ZY_2GnIMwH7jgYTa_kmvQzomu1Jyr9BjnNPYsrbJ_w/edit
