Dear Rachel, I just took my very first pan of Aussie Bites out of the oven. They look exactly like the ones you made. I'm waiting for them to cool to eat a couple. You do a marvelous job with your videos and recipes. I've used many of your recipes and every one of them is a "make again" recipe. Thanks for sharing your expertise. Stay safe.

Tonight is the third time in a week that I make these awesome bites. They’re a good seller. On a note, in the video you said 1/4 cup of baking soda, then I read the recipe and it’s 1/4 tsp.

Your written recipe calls for 1/4 tsp baking soda, but in the video you accidentally state 1/4 cup baking soda. Clearly the amount you show being placed in your recipe is the 1/4 tsp, however if someone isn't paying close attention to what is happening - that could be a NASTY result. Obviously others have noted the Oops! Because this is a wonderful recipe, as others have stated. Just wanted to save someone from having a bad batch!

Hi just asking the same question from Others about the cooked vs uncooked quinoa. I didn’t see an answer yet. Can you clarify which it is? Video says uncooked and the description says cooked. Also would the recipe still work if I omit the sugar?

I’m sorry but I was so confused! I made a pot of quinoa cause your recipe ingredient list calls for “cooked” quinoa but in your video we used uncooked quinoa. I didn’t even notice I didn’t use any of the cooked insta pot until after I put the aussie bites in to bake. Can’t wait for them to be done here soon!

In the written recipe it says we can use 1/4 cup cooked quinoa. Does that mean measure 1/4 cup of it *after* it's been cooked (which is fluffier and weighs less)?

Hi there, I tried a few without baking soda as I didn't had it and when I added I heard you saying quarter cup and not teaspoon which I followed and it tastes really bad now. In your discription box it says quarter tea spoon which I checked after. Sorry I am not a baking person so didn't had the idea.

I was looking for a recipe that would be the closest to the bites i bought from Costco, and this one is! unfortunately it is using Canola oil just like the store bought one(which is the reason i am trying to bake my own instead)...so I am gonna replace the Canola oil with olive oil and white sugar with coconut sugar and it would be perfect..Thanks for the recipe :)

That would depend on where you shop and where you live. I’m able to shop at places with bulk bins where I can buy exactly the amounts I need for the recipe which makes them significantly cheaper.

Cooked these as instructed, and realized the ingredients call for quarter teaspoon of baking soda. In the video, it says quarter cup of baking soda. They came out very huge and undercooked. Might need to make a note of that for people making it at home.

Clearly I didn't invent this recipe as I was trying to make a copycat of a packaged product. Fun fact: because I've been publishing recipes online since 2008, people re-publish them all the time. When I originally published this recipe, the only recipes available online didn't include the same ingredients as were listed on the package.

Recipe first published January 5, 2015. There isn't even a KZbin video for Aussie Bites older than that :) Interesting how many people use my recipes, huh? A good majority of cooking channels on KZbin just make recipes off the internet. I prefer to develop my own.
