NEVER apologise for rewinding to hear Delores again ! She is such a beautiful soul and her keening (traditional Irish style of melancholic singing) speaks to my celtic blood. I am so glad she lived in my time (and I was a young teen when they first came on the scene) and we have her voice, her image and her words preserved for (hopefully) all time because she deserves to live on

Thank you for another Cranberries reaction! Dolores is the absolute best in my opinion. I always say her voice enters your ears and goes straight to your heart and wraps around your soul. She makes you feel her vocals in a way nobody else can. More Cranberries please 🙏 Also, this was the first song she wrote for The Cranberries.

I love your smile at your 3:39 mark when you see/hear Dolores's magical vocals! That's a Great Genuine Reaction that speaks without saying a word! Your Reaction videos to The Cranberries so far are fantastic. Many others have recommended "Ode to My Family" , but also react to "When You're Gone" and then hit "Just My Imagination" for a peppy tune. The word you couldn't think of to describe her vocals is simply "AMAZING!!"

I heard this song many years ago working my first job as a cart boy at a local grocery store but didn't know who the band was. Fast forward thirty years and the death of my daughter two years ago to cancer, somehow, I stumbled upon the Cranberries song, Zombie, and watched the music video - I was struck at how much my lost daughter looked like Dolores, so the song hit double hard. I began listening to more of their songs and stumbled across your reaction videos to their songs. Your reactions are authentic, and I really appreciate them. I have come to love the music this band made and wonder sometimes what impact my daughter might have made if she had lived longer than her 21 years. My daughter loved music, and I like to think that maybe she and Dolores are somewhere singing together and enjoying beauty. Thanks for what you do, man - it adds a layer of beauty to songs that already enchant.

This is one of my favourite songs of theirs. It’s a very pretty song. I’ve loved The Cranberries for almost my whole life ever since I first heard of their first album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? (That’s the album title). When I found out that Dolores passed away in 2018, that was the first real time that i actually started to cry about a celebrity. She influenced me so much. Next year, on January 15th, I’m going to listen to her music with The Cranberries and her solo work, as it will mark 5 years since her death. RIP Dolores. One of the best and most unique voices I’ve ever heard.

I don't think as a 14 year old when this came out that my generation really appreciated just how diverse popular music was during the 90s. At any given time you could have rock, r&b, pop, alternative all with completely different sounds and more competing in the charts. Now there are no real bands or groups releasing entire albums with their own style and sound, it's just producer driven music from label created "artists".

I cant!!! :(((((((( I was probably 13 when I heard Zombie for the first time, and i managed to saved some money, went to the town on a bus with my cousin to get the album (cassete) and found out it's already their second album, since i can only afford one cassetes that time, i decided to buy Everybody else first..... What a revelation! The first day i got them playing them all day long through my earphones and what a magical debut for me a 13 yo, with no interest in music before. the next day, when my cousin went back to the city, he STOLE the casette/ album!!!!! You have NO IDEA how LINGER was lingering in my head for monthsss before i manage to save some more money to buy them back! It wasnt easy back then.. im a life long Cranberries fan they are my family, i grew up entirely with them ... :(

This was on the radio constantly right after the break up of a 5 year relationship and I'd start to tear up every time it came on. Was working in a restaurant at the time and it sucked if I was bartending or waiting on tables as there were plenty of times I had to go in the back hall until I got myself composed enough to deal with customers again. Those lyrics. Every time I hear it it takes me back to that time like it was yesterday.

I think what hits this song out of the park is the underlying groove created by the drumbeat. You don't necessarily notice it on a first time listen, at least I didn't. But on repeat listenings it was obvious, a driving relentless beat that's there, underneath the emotion of Dolores voice.

When I was a teenager, I was working at a Sonic Drive-In hamburger joint. I was mostly into Rap/hiphop then. This song would play on the radio everyday, and would bring me a sense of peace every time work got hectic. Ever since I heard this song, I have always liked The Cranberries. Also, I never knew my father, so I ended up taking a DNA test. It turns out I am a quarter Northwestern European. Maybe that is why I like The Cranberries so much? I don't know. Or maybe Dolores just sounds like an angel to me.

Dolores is from Limerick (1 of 32 counties in Ireland). In 2018 she died (RIP) and later that year Limerick won the All Ireland hurling championship for the 1st time in 45 years (hurling is an ancient Irish sport 3000 years old & full of passion, played in front of 82,000 maniac fans). After Limerick won they played Dreams by the Cranberries. Limerick have since won 5 out of the last 6 times and each time they play Dreams. Crowd goes mental. But if you want more emotion can I suggest 2 songs, (1) Grace by Jim McCann (go for the original) and (2) The Shadow, sung by Mary Black. It is about Michael Collins, the man that beat the British and got Ireland back it's freedom after 700+ years. The Brits didn't know who he was but Dev (his leader) sent him to London to negotiate the deal. Dev knew it wasn't possible to get the Republic they wanted and so sent Collins. It resulted in the Irish civil war. Collins won that as well but in a moment of madness and in an attempt to bring it to an end he went to meet Dev in Cork, the county he was born and rared in (cradle road) and was ambushed and assasscinated. He was 32 years of age. He was due to marry Kitty Kiernan later that year. Years later Dev said "... in the fullness of time history will record the greatness of Michael Collins and it will be recorded at my expense". Two brilliant songs full of emotion. Come to Ireland on a hol. Go to a Limerick hurling game in Apr/May (Munster championship) and be prepared to have your socks blown-off. Then you might start to understand Dolores' emotion.
